Chapter 884: Chapter 884: Red Wine Can Also Set the Mood

Mr. Yang tightly embraced Lan Xin, feeling her body gradually becoming transparent, an indescribable bitterness rising in his heart.

Her lips remained soft, yet they slowly lost their warmth, like a flower withering away.

"Xiaochen."

Lan Xin parted from his lips, her light brown eyes shimmering with tears, her voice as gentle as whispers in the wind, "Thank you."

"Lan Xin."

Mr. Yang called softly, his throat a little tight.

"Please... take good care of Yu for me."

Lan Xin’s lips curled slightly upward, revealing a relieved smile.

Mr. Yang opened his mouth, wanting to say something but realizing he didn’t know what to say.

The relationship between him and Lan Xin had always been for healing, yet now as he watched her about to disappear, an unspeakable bitterness filled his heart.

"You are a good person, having Yu with you makes me feel assured."

Lan Xin’s body became increasingly transparent, almost merging into the faint light of the flower field.

"Tell Yu for me, her mother loves her, has always loved her, and has never regretted having her."

"I will."

Mr. Yang nodded, a bitterness surfacing in his heart.

Lan Xin’s lips curled into a relieved smile as she gave Mr. Yang one last look, her light brown eyes reflecting his shadow.

"Goodbye, Mr. Yang."

As her words fell, her body transformed into countless points of light, dancing like fireflies in the flower field, then slowly ascending into the sky, disappearing into the clouds.

The flower field returned to tranquility, a gentle breeze swept by, petals fluttering, as if bidding her farewell.

Mr. Yang reached out his hand, trying to grasp something, but only held onto emptiness.

The flower field began to collapse, the sky cracking with seams, sunlight pouring down from the gaps, illuminating the entire world brightly.

Mr. Yang closed his eyes, letting the invisible force pull his consciousness back to reality.

"Brother Cen? Brother Cen!"

A frantic call from Jiang Yu came to his ear, Mr. Yang suddenly opened his eyes, greeted by her delicate face, her eyes red from fright.

"I’m okay."

Mr. Yang sat up, rubbing his temple, remnants of the Illusion Realm lingering in his mind.

Jiang Yu threw herself into his arms, holding him tightly, her voice trembling with sobs, "No matter how I called, you wouldn’t wake up, it scared me to death."

"Don’t be afraid, I’m awake now, aren’t I?"

Mr. Yang patted her back gently, comforting her.

After a long while, Jiang Yu’s emotions gradually settled, she lifted her head, looking into Mr. Yang’s eyes, and softly asked, "Brother Cen, did you see my mom?"

Mr. Yang nodded, hesitated for a moment, and then simply recounted the events of the Illusion Realm, omitting the indescribable parts.

"Did Mom really say that?"

Tears welled up in Jiang Yu’s eyes, but this time, it was tears of joy.

Mr. Yang reached out to wipe away her tears, his tone gentle, "So you must live well, not disappointing her expectations."

Jiang Yu nodded firmly, burying her face in Mr. Yang’s embrace, her shoulders gently trembling.

Mr. Yang did not attempt to comfort her, simply holding her quietly, letting her release all her emotions.

After a long time, Jiang Yu’s sobs gradually subsided, she lifted her head, her eyes red and swollen, her nose also red, looking so pitiful.

"Brother Cen, can we... start the treatment now?"

Her voice was small, carrying a hint of shyness and nervousness.

Mr. Yang looked at her, a surge of tenderness rising in his heart, "Are you sure you’re ready?"

Jiang Yu bit her lip, nodded with flushed cheeks, her eyes filled with determination.

"I think it might not be convenient at home, your dad and senior sister are around, I’m afraid you won’t be able to relax."

Jiang Yu’s face reddened further, lowering her head, afraid to meet his gaze, her voice tiny like a mosquito, "Then... where should we go?"

Mr. Yang stood up, walked to the wardrobe, pulled out a dress, and handed it to her, "Change into this, we’ll go out."

Jiang Yu took the dress, turned away to put it on, then fixed her hair in front of the mirror before following Mr. Yang out of the room.

Downstairs, Jiang Heping was sitting in the living room having tea, upon seeing the two come down, he quickly stood up.

"Mr. Yang, Yu, are you going out?"

"Yes, I’m taking Yu out, we won’t be back tonight."

Mr. Yang didn’t say it directly, but Jiang Heping knew, realizing they thought it was inconvenient at home.

"Off you go, stay safe."

Jiang Heping smiled slightly, not saying much more, even seeing them off at the door.

The two walked out the Jiang Family door, Mr. Yang started the car, slowly driving out of the Jiang Family estate.

Jiang Yu sat in the passenger seat, her head lowered, fingers fiddling with the hem of her clothes, her heart pounding like a drum.

"Nervous?"

Mr. Yang glanced at her, smiling as he asked.

"A little."

Jiang Yu nodded honestly.

"Don’t be nervous, let’s have a meal, take a stroll, and talk when you’re not nervous, there’s still time."

Mr. Yang reached out to gently ruffle her hair.

The car navigated through Lin Zhou City, Mr. Yang stopped in front of a flower shop.

"Wait for me."

He got out of the car, entered the flower shop, and shortly returned with a bouquet of red roses.

Jiang Yu’s eyes lit up instantly upon seeing the flowers in his hands, unable to resist a slight smile.

"For you."

Mr. Yang handed her the flowers, returning to the driver’s seat.

Jiang Yu accepted the flowers, leaning down to smell them, the fragrance was intoxicating, her cheeks stained with a faint blush, her heart sweet like honey.

"Thank you, Brother Cen."

"As long as you like it, it’s good."

Mr. Yang smiled and continued driving.

They reached Lin Zhou’s most bustling commercial district, Mr. Yang parked the car at the entrance of an upscale restaurant.

The restaurant had an elegant decor, soft lighting, the air permeated with the scent of food, everything was refined and romantic.

"Brother Cen, this place is so beautiful."

Jiang Yu looked around, her eyes filled with delight.

Mr. Yang took her hand, leading her to a window seat, outside was Lin Zhou’s night view, myriad lights, bustling traffic.

The waiter brought over the menu, Mr. Yang ordered a few signature dishes, and specially requested a bottle of red wine.

"Brother Cen, I can’t drink alcohol."

Jiang Yu spoke nervously.

"A little is okay, it can help you sleep."

Mr. Yang smiled, although he didn’t mention that red wine could also liven things up.

The dishes arrived promptly, each one exquisite like a piece of art, with alluring colors and tempting aromas.

In truth, he wasn’t fond of such places, finding them flashy and superficial, but he knew young girls tend to love them.

Sure enough, Jiang Yu enjoyed herself, the tension on her face gradually dissipating, chatting animatedly with him, temporarily forgetting about Lan Xin.

After the main course, Mr. Yang ordered two desserts.

Jiang Yu ate with cream on her lips, licking it with her tongue, looking very cute.

Watching her adorable expression, Mr. Yang couldn’t help but reach out to wipe the cream from her lips.

Jiang Yu’s face turned red instantly, lowering her head in embarrassment, her heart racing.
