Chapter 741 Brute Power
Chapter 741 Brute Power
Kaizen’s transformation left its mark on the battlefield, mainly because of the newly-evolved man’s intense aura of power.
Golden particles, remnants of the evolutionary process, floated in the air like fleeting constellations amid the ashes and falling snow, creating a spectacle that captured everyone’s attention.
His body, more than ever, still seemed to be enveloped by an inner light, a pulsating aura that could be felt by everyone. Kaizen’s eyes, once expressive, now radiated an abnormal calm. His irises, once ordinary, shone like wells of pure energy, reflecting the base essence of his new self.
Cephal looked at Kaizen with astonishment and respect. He muttered something for a few seconds, but everyone’s attention was totally captured by Kaizen.
All around, the other players, warriors, mages, archers, everyone, was paralyzed by the luminous aura emanating from Kaizen. Some stared in disbelief, others in awe, but all shared a silent understanding that something extraordinary had happened before their eyes.
And it wasn’t just those on the main street of the Capital of Mibothen who noticed this change in the atmosphere of the battle.
On the other side of the city, Korgrak looked up at the sky, while being protected by Salles to cast another spell, and saw the golden glow touching the lower clouds. Gradually, the other people noticed it too, including the demon who was fighting them, and so the glow stopped the battle for a few moments.
Korgrak didn’t know what this glow was or what it meant, but, clever as she was, she had heard rumors about it, and for some reason she felt that this glow had been caused by Kaizen. So she smiled and, as a sphere of white light appeared from her fingertips, said aloud:
“Kaizen is leading the way, so I can’t fall behind.”
For his part, Taznaar was in the sky, using his fire transformation skill called <Phoenix>, and also saw the glow. “What the hell is going on up there in the center?” He asked himself.
The demon who was fighting him, on the other hand, was not so easily distracted and, taking advantage of the distraction of one of his strongest opponents, punched Taznaar in the chest, knocking him to the ground. Finally, the demon let his eyes roll from his perspective and so he too looked at the glow.
“A moment ago I was feeling Delgron’s presence along with Azrakthar, but now his presence is gone… It’s unlikely, but I wonder…”
The glow of Kaizen’s evolution was seen everywhere, even outside the battlefield, where thousands of weaker players were still waiting in the camp.
“What is that glow? Does anyone know?”
“Ow… That’s intense…” Another said, covering his eyes.
“Could that be the enemy using some technique?”
“No, guys! Don’t worry! I just got a chat message from a friend who was watching the broadcast! It seems that Kaizen has become an Evolved!”
“What? An Evolved!”
“Did we miss the chance to see this for ourselves? ARGGGGH!!!”
Like fire in a haystack, the news had already spread as quickly as it could. However, although the news that Kaizen had become an Evolved, indeed the first to show the world what the process is like, was spreading all over the Earth, everyone’s eyes should still be on Midgard, because the battle was far from over.
Azrakthar’s flaming eyes, flashing with demonic flame, locked onto the newly evolved, and he began to rise.
Cephal, who had so far managed to hold him down, began to have difficulty doing so, as for some reason Azrakthar began to increase in size. Its muscles suddenly pulsed and then expanded to twice their normal size, and then they pulsed again, only to increase even more, which gradually made it a problem for Cephal, with his strength reduced because of Zylok, to hold such a powerful creature.
“I didn’t want to use it… because it decreases my life expectancy by thousands of years… but if that’s what it takes to stop you and avenge Delgron, I won’t hold back any longer.” Azrakthar declared with a little difficulty in his voice, standing up slowly and enduring the pain.
“Arrrh! Damn you, stop resisting!” said Cephal, changing his usual grip into a rear naked choke.
However, Azrakthar was at least three times stronger than before. So he grabbed Cephal off his back and threw him like a toy.
The thud of Cephal crashing into the ruins of a building echoed across the battlefield.
The air seemed to thicken with tension as Kaizen and Azrakthar stared at each other in a silence that resonated with the magnitude of their power. The moment stretched out like a painting in slow motion, every detail captured in a vivid frame.
Kaizen slowly raised his right hand. With a calm countenance, Kaizen directed his gaze towards the ether in the air. The golden particle seemed to respond to its new master’s call, floating gracefully from the air to Kaizen’s hand. The ether particles began to converge around Kaizen, forming an ethereal spiral that enveloped him like celestial armor. The moment the ether touched Kaizen’s skin, a magical sound reverberated across the battlefield, like a tuned gong.
Azrakthar frowned. He knew he had to be cautious, so he didn’t want to be the first to attack, but he also didn’t know what Kaizen was doing and couldn’t wait too long.
“I don’t know what you’ve done. I don’t know what that power is. But no matter what trick you use, I’m still stronger than you,” proclaimed the demon, raising his demon sword in a defiant gesture.
Kaizen’s gaze did not waver. In response, he began to walk calmly forward, his every step resounding softly.
Seeing his opponent at last, Azrakthar smiled and charged at Kaizen with unparalleled ferocity, much faster than before. The demon sword sliced through the air in a deadly arc, but when Azrakthar looked back with a confident smile, to take in the sweet sight of his enemy cut down, he didn’t find Kaizen.
‘What?
“Don’t let me out of your sight, or this could be the end of you.” Kaizen said, already on top of Azrakthar, and punched the demon so hard that the impact wave threw the nearest people backwards.
