Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 650 Diagram

“Actually, I want you to forge a sword for me, Kaizen.”

Kaizen stared at Salles in surprise. Although the proposal was interesting, he needed to know more. “Do you have anything in mind? Any specifics?”

At that moment, as the mugs of beer were placed on the table by the tavernkeeper, Salles carefully unfolded a scroll on the table, revealing the diagram of a sword.

The parchment was weathered and a little dusty, indicating that it had been found somewhere. Its edges were frayed and yellowed, but the hand-drawn diagram in the center was still incredibly detailed. It was a work of art in itself, with perfectly drawn lines and symbols intertwined with the design of the sword.

The sword was a heavy type sword. Its hilt was to be adorned with two iron flaps, giving the impression of the outstretched wings of a dragon in flight. The handle was to be wrapped in black leather, providing a comfortable grip. The guard of the sword was shaped like silver eagle claws, curved to protect the user’s hand. The blade, however, was the real highlight. It was long and wide, with a ripple pattern reminiscent of the texture of a phoenix’s wings.

From the look of the design, the idea was that the metal should shine brightly, and at the base of the blade there were inscriptions in an ancient and forgotten language, which Kaizen couldn’t immediately identify without using his Master of Languages skill.

Kaizen studied the diagram with eager eyes for a few seconds, capturing every detail of the sword’s diagram in his mind.

It was a masterpiece, a weapon that any swordsman would want to own. However, he was aware that creating such a sword would be a tremendous challenge, both in terms of skill and resources.

“That’s impressive, Salles,” admitted Kaizen, still admiring the diagram. “But this isn’t a sword like the others, nor is it a diagram like the ones I usually see. Most likely, it’s a diagram of the creation of a Mythic Rank Sword.”

Salles nodded seriously. “That’s what I thought… That’s why I came after you, after all, you’re the one who managed to forge the first legendary item, aren’t you? The warning echoed through the skies a few weeks ago, I remember it well, and the first person Korgrak deduced to be this mysterious blacksmith was exactly you.”

Kaizen smiled, but neither confirmed nor lied about it.

“As for the inscriptions on the blade… do you know what they mean?”

“Yes, I do. Those inscriptions represent an ancient prophecy. They say that this sword, called the ‘Silver Phoenix’, is destined for a person who will honor the fall of an ancient people who lived in the heavens. Legend has it that the sword possesses extraordinary powers, capable of challenging even the most terrible enemies.”

“Incredible…” Salles said and looked at his poor current sword, which rested gently against the wall next to him.

It was clear that creating the Silver Phoenix would require significant resources and exceptional blacksmithing skills, so Kaizen looked closely at the parchment, where the necessary materials were listed.

The scroll mentioned:

[Phoenix Tear: A mythical ingredient that supposedly could only be obtained after a battle with a phoenix. Its ability to regenerate would grant the sword extraordinary healing power.

Eternal Mountain Steel: A rare and durable metal found only in the depths of the highest mountains. It would be used to forge the sword’s main blade.

Black Wyvern Blood: An extremely rare magical component, which would give the sword its ability to cast black flames.

Celestial Diamond: A diamond of incredible purity, needed to engrave the ancient inscriptions and give the sword its spiritual power.]

Kaizen sighed. Obtaining these materials would be an arduous and dangerous quest, and he wasn’t sure he had the time for it.

“Salles, this is a monumental task,” Kaizen finally said, raising his eyes from the scroll. “I’m a skilled blacksmith, but a terrible explorer when it comes to looking for resources and to make matters worse, these materials are incredibly rare.”

Salles nodded again, his face serious. “I understand, Kaizen… However, I believe that you are the right person for this task. I trust your abilities and I know that if anyone can do it, it’s you. What’s more, I’m willing to help you find these materials. As a member of the Metal Dragons Guild, I have access to resources and information that could be useful.”𝒪𝐕𝗅xt.𝗇et

Kaizen pondered Salles’ words. The opportunity to forge a mythical sword like the Silver Phoenix was tempting, and if he was lucky and obtained plenty of resources, he could forge even more than one, but he was aware of all the issues involved. However, curiosity and the desire to take on such an extraordinary challenge began to grow within him.

“I accept, Salles,” declared Kaizen at last. “I’ll forge the Silver Phoenix, but on one condition: I won’t go after the necessary resources, you will. I have many things to do and no time for that.”

Salles smiled and nodded, agreeing to the condition. “Kaizen, I knew you were the right man for the job.

However, the solemn moment between Kaizen and Salles was abruptly interrupted by the entrance of a player who made everyone in the tavern instantly fall silent: Korgrak, the leader of the Metal Dragons. As always, she was dressed completely in black, with long robes that enveloped her like a shadow. A black mask completely concealed her face, except for her eyes, which shone an icy white through the mask. Her presence immediately sent a shiver down the spine of everyone present.

Salles quickly put away the scroll with the diagram of the Silver Phoenix, whispering hurriedly to Kaizen:

“Don’t say a word about the sword.” He then stood up and waved to Korgrak. “Hey, Korgrak, come and have a drink with us! We’ve only just arrived!”
