Chapter 572 Aberration Of Pokkir
In a matter of minutes, the number of Giant Rats had drastically diminished, and the few remaining ones began to flee. As the infected Giant Rats fled, a growing tension hung in the air. Kaizen and Nix sensed that something was wrong, and the ensuing silence only amplified their discomfort, broken only by the dripping of the green slime. Then, a peculiar sound echoed in the environment, finally standing out—a somewhat familiar sound to Kaizen: the beating of a heart, a pulse. He furrowed his brow, trying to locate the origin of this intriguing noise.
“You heard that too, right?” Kaizen whispered to Nix, keeping his voice low.
Nix frowned, confused. “Heard what? I can only hear the dripping of the slime.”
Kaizen’s eyes turned to the crack in the wall from which the green slime was flowing. The sound seemed to emanate from there, and it was the only place they hadn’t thoroughly checked. As he peered closely at the crack, Kaizen noticed that the liquid behind it was moving rhythmically, as if something was stirring behind the crack.
“There’s something in there,” Kaizen whispered again, his voice filled with urgency.
Nix rolled her eyes and looked at the crack. “You’re going crazy. It’s just a crack with slightly more liquid than the one we saw before. There shouldn’t be anything—”
However, before she could finish her sentence, the crack exploded in a burst of green slime, like a pimple bursting, hitting them directly and covering them with the slime. And amidst the oozing slime, a horrifying creature emerged.
It resembled a classic Myxapia, a creature made entirely of slime, like an evolved version of a slime, but with terrifying differences. Sharp claws, sinister eyes, and a mouth full of pointed teeth dripped with the slime. The spiky-covered skin seemed to pulsate like a living heart, like a tumor. It was an abomination, a creature they had never seen before.
[You’ve engaged in a confrontation with the Optional Boss called Aberration of Pokkir.]
The message appeared, and quickly, Kaizen unsheathed the Night Sword, while Nix pulled out her daggers again, ready to face the terror before them.
“What is this?! A boss in the middle of the sewers?! I’ve never seen anything like this!” Nix asked, with a hint of nervousness in her soaked voice.
“It’s a regular dungeon boss, it shouldn’t be too strong, don’t panic! But be careful of its slime; it might be poisonous!” replied Kaizen, keeping his eyes fixed on the creature.
The abomination quickly advanced toward them, moving with alarming agility despite its gelatinous body. Kaizen dodged its sharp claws, while Nix launched her dagger strikes. However, the creature seemed to be immune to pain and unaffected by the blades, as the daggers passed right through it without causing any harm.
Kaizen focused, relying on his sharp reflexes and combat skills. He evaded the creature’s attacks, which seemed to be targeting him primarily. The Night Sword glowed with its magical energy, and he waited for the perfect opportunity to strike, but the creature kept attacking without pause.
The situation was becoming increasingly dangerous. The creature’s venomous slime was creating a toxic fog around it, making it difficult to see and making the combat even more challenging.
Nix attempted to attack the abomination, but her daggers seemed to have little effect against the gelatinous creature. Nevertheless, she skillfully dodged the boss’s attacks with agility, and its spines missed hitting her by a wide margin.
However, Kaizen knew he needed to find a way to defeat the creature. Then, a sudden idea crossed his mind.
“Let’s try aiming for the spines!” Kaizen shouted to Nix. “It might be its weak point!”
Nix nodded and adjusted her strategy. She began to focus her attacks on the creature’s spines, avoiding the venomous slime that continued to flow.
Meanwhile, Kaizen also attacked the creature, trying to divert its attention from Nix and create openings for her to target the spines.
The battle soon intensified to another level. The abomination continued to attack, spraying venomous slime in all directions, but its attacks against players like Kaizen and Nix were practically useless due to their agility. With well-directed strikes, Kaizen and Nix finally managed to hit some of the creature’s spines. The abomination let out a sharp cry of pain, revealing that the spines were indeed its weak point.
Encouraged by their success, the two players redoubled their efforts. Kaizen got close to the creature, drawing its attention to him, while Nix attacked the exposed spines.
The abomination writhed and thrashed, attempting to rid itself of Kaizen and Nix’s attacks, but its agility gradually diminished as the spines were damaged.
Determined to defeat the creature, Kaizen and Nix worked as a team, coordinating their attacks and evading the abomination’s strikes.
Finally, with a precise strike, Kaizen managed to pierce one of the spines with the Night Sword, and the abomination let out another howl of pain. Its movements became even more uncoordinated, and it finally fell to the ground, no longer hanging from the crack. However, the problem now was that it had much greater mobility than before. It was not just stretching to attack, but literally moving towards its target. 𝑂𝒱𝓛xt.𝗇𝓔t
Nevertheless, Kaizen continued to draw its attention because he knew that even if he was hit, he wouldn’t have any trouble dealing with the poison or the damage.
Using all his agility and speed, Kaizen ran across the battlefield, diverting the creature’s attention to himself. He jumped and dodged the abomination’s attacks while searching for more exposed spines to target.
Nix watched Kaizen’s movements and realized what he was trying to do. She positioned herself at a strategic point while Kaizen continued to taunt the abomination, making it follow his movements.
The boss, weakened by the attacks on its spines, was no longer as agile as it seemed to be at the beginning, and honestly, its attack patterns were as simple as those of a slime.
As the abomination approached Nix again, she noticed a bright spot in the middle of the slime, a point that looked like a jewel. This seemed to be exactly what Nix was looking for, a vital point. She took her two daggers and threw them, aiming for the creature’s heart. The daggers pierced the slime at a surprising speed, and one of them hit the heart, shattering it like glass.
The creature let out one final scream of agony before finally collapsing on the ground, motionless.
