Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 551 Vision (Part 3)

“For many years, the First King of Tretidian wielded the King’s Sword with a courage and determination never seen by the Orc army, and with each battle won his name and influence spread further.” Aelon continued to narrate. “At the time, he was one of the few who was managing to fight as an equal against the numbers of the Orcs and the only one who was winning his battles. His effort resonated throughout the world of Midgard, motivating others, so small insurgents began to appear.”

Kaizen was paying attention to every word while also paying attention to the scenery unfolding before his eyes. What he was seeing was like a timelapse of dozens of years of the entire region, from the long burnt forests, the bloody battles and defeats, to the satisfying victories of the human army.

“Then, as Tretidian’s will began to prevail and the insurgents began to rise up, the Orcs’ defeats became more and more numerous. All of this greatly enraged those who were controlling the Orcs, and when the bulk of Tretidian’s Army left the kingdom’s capital for an onslaught of unparalleled ferocity against a large camp of the enemies, they were taken by surprise.”π“žπ•π‘³π’©xt.πœπ‘Άπ“œ

‘An attack on the Tretidian Capital, eh? I’m having flashbacks…’ Kaizen thought and then asked:

“As you might imagine, the enemy used the weakness of the capital to attempt the greatest blow a kingdom could suffer, losing its capital. During one evening, all around the city, tens of thousands of Orcs and the King of Tretidian only realized it when his army reached the Orcs’ camp and found their traces. That afternoon, the Capital of Tretidian was consumed.”

“But the king came back to protect the city, right?”

“Of course he did. With the King’s Sword in hand, the First King of Tretidian led his army on a daring raid against the forces of darkness. For the first time, the full army of both met.” continued Aelon. “Thus, the lands of the Tretidian Capital were the scene of an epic battle, where the fate of the kingdom and the world were at stake. The king’s warriors fought bravely, inspired by the example and leadership of their monarch.”

Aelon paused, looking out to the horizon that was now a panoramic view of the Tretidian Capital of a thousand years ago.

“And after three days of battle, finally the First King of Tretidian came face to face with the evil entity behind the Orcs…” she continued.

– The death of the first King of Tretidian, narrated by Aelon. –

Upon entering his own throne room, the King faced a deformed being whose form could hardly be comprehended or conceived by human minds.

Then, the King held his sword tightly with a serious and determined expression. He knows that this battle is his last chance to protect his kingdom and free Midgard from the grip of darkness. In fact, this is his first chance to end it all once and for all.

“You, evil entity, can no longer keep Midgard under your control!” declared the King in a firm voice. “With this sword in my hands, I defy your corrupt power!”

The deformed being let out a terrible laugh in response to the King’s statement and his voice echoed through the halls of the throne room. “Little human king, you do not understand the true power you face. I am the essence of something you cannot even imagine. Your effort is futile.”

The King clenched his fist upon hearing the evil entity’s dismissive words. His resolve only intensified in the face of the challenge. “I may not fully understand its power, but I know enough to recognize evil when I see it!” the King replied, his voice echoing boldly through the throne room. “And that is precisely why I am here, to face you and free my people from your grasp!”

Humanly, of course, the King had fear in his heart, but there was nowhere else to run, so he advanced towards the deformed being, raising his sword.

The deformed being’s eyes glowed with a dark intensity as a blinding brightness filled the entire hall and the King vanished in the blink of an eye. On instinct, he dodged the first blow and leapt to the ceiling, where he finally stood upside down in the darkness with only his eyes glowing.

“You are but an insignificant being compared to me.” whispered the entity, its hissing voice echoing in the King’s mind. “Your courage is admirable, but that alone will not be enough to stop me. As I said, I am far MORE than you, something beyond.”

The King stood his ground, unfazed by the threatening presence. He took a deep breath, focusing his energy and his determination. With a war cry, the King launched another attack, this time with his sword slicing through the air with force and precision. In one swing of the King’s Sword, the ceiling of the throne room split in half and the entire structure began to collapse.

The entity appeared behind the King in an instant and tried to grab him, only the King of Tretidian had sharp instincts, so he was able to anticipate the attack and escape.

The confrontation between the two quickly became brutal. The entity had a lot of destructive power and its magics were on a completely different level, however, the King’s Sword was a weapon created with the mixture of Elven and Human knowledge and that was recognized by dwarves, so it was certainly a weapon without equal.

Sparks flew throughout the palace, destroying and as the fight intensified, the King could feel the weight of his entire kingdom on his shoulders. Every move was driven by the will to protect his people, to ensure a future free from the clutches of darkness, free so that all could be free. His heart pounded heavily in his chest, mixing with the adrenaline coursing through his veins.

The battle continued and the throne room resounded with the clangor of the steel of the King’s sword as the King and the entity kept their eyes on each other, equally determined.

Amidst the fury of the fight, the King noticed a weakness in the evil entity’s defense. A small moment of hesitation in its movement, probably this physical form was new, so its movements were not fully polished or its body was not able to keep up with its powers. Either way, the King seized the opportunity and delivered a sharp blow, striking the deformed being squarely in the chest.

A haunting silence fell over the throne room. The entity fell to its knees and black particles began to be expelled from its body, like ashes from something burning.

The King fell to his knees, panting and exhausted, but his expression was one of triumph. He had defeated the evil that plagued his kingdom, or so he thought.

Suddenly, the silence was broken and a hand reached across the King of Tretidian’s chest…
