Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 542 Portals

Surprised and perplexed, Kaizen watched the King’s Sword being swallowed by the puddle of black and gray sludge.

Kaizen remembered seeing this same magic many times, on different occasions. For example, in the first attack on the Capital such portals helped the Witch transport her bizarre monsters. Later, these portals also made zombies appear, and most recently, Kaizen had sunk his feet into a portal like this.𝑢𝒱π₯xt.π’žπ’ͺπ”ͺ

“What is it?” Kaizen asked, his voice heavy with indignation. He reached out to try to reach the sword, but it was too late. It had completely disappeared into the portal.

The look of surprise and frustration washed over Kaizen’s face as the portal disappeared as quickly as it had formed.

“Damn it!” Kaizen exclaimed, clenching his fists. “What happened to the King’s Sword?” He inquired of Morgaroth, reaching out towards him and pulling him brutally to himself.

Morgaroth, now weakened and in agony from the grip of Psychokinesis on his neck, let out a weak laugh. “Did you think it would be that easy, Psyker? As you already knew, the King’s Sword was our goal and it will not be so easily retrieved. It is beyond your reach now.”

Kaizen felt a mixture of anger and frustration growing inside him, so he tightened the around Morgaroth’s neck even more.

With his hands shaking with fury, he looked into the eyes of the villain before him and stated:

“You dare play with me?” Kaizen snarled. His voice was charged with wrath. “You and your evil plans will not get away with it. I will find a way to retrieve the King’s Sword and destroy everything you have built.”

Morgaroth, though weakened, let out a choked laugh. “Do you really believe you can beat us, Psyker? Evil always finds a way to resurface, to grow stronger. You are nothing but an insect, destined to be crushed, and with the power of our master, The Eye of Hermodr is a force of nature, a will that cannot be stopped.”

Kaizen’s anger rose even higher. He squeezed the harder, nearly crushing Morgaroth’s neck. But in the midst of his fury, a voice in his subconscious told him to take it easy. Was that his instinct? He immediately knew he couldn’t let himself get carried away by blind rage, he needed to keep calm and find a solution.

With one last contemptuous glance at Morgaroth, Kaizen released his psychic pressure, allowing the villain to fall to the ground, gasping and weakened.

“You are mistaken…” said Kaizen with his voice now firm. “I am the Psyker and just hearing that title one day will make your legs tremble with fear. I will personally ensure that you and all others who shake this world pay for your actions.”

Morgaroth let out a weak laugh, spitting out some blood. “You… you are foolish. You don’t know the power you’re dealing with, who you’re up against.”

Kaizen turned his back to the fallen villain, his mind full of thoughts. “I don’t care about that nonsense. You should have understood that by now.” Kaizen said.

“They are, you should start calling.” Stated Morgaroth with a tepid smile.

Just then, when Kaizen wasn’t looking, a new portal appeared behind Morgaroth, a portal like the one that took the King’s Sword, a portal with a slow, liquid texture that seemed to ooze within the shaft itself slowly.

Kaizen could see the portal through Ragnarok’s reflection, so he looked over his shoulder quickly and a smile appeared on his face. He had expected this, he had expected that Morgaroth would get help to escape, after all he is not just any map to The Eye of Hermodr.

Morgaroth saw the smile on Kaizen’s face and tried to run for the portal, only for Kaizen to fly towards him, slashing the Ragnarok across his wounded chest and, with the force of his strike, slashing through the portal as well.

Stepping through the slime portal, Kaizen entered a world completely made of water, which he had visited before when he fought the Witch. However, this world was different now, much darker, as if he was personally at the deepest point of the ocean, where almost no light can reach.

The atmosphere around Kaizen was oppressive, with darkness enveloping him on all sides. He could feel the pressure of the water against his body, as if he were immersed in a deep ocean. The silence was deafening, with only the muffled sound of his own breaths.

Kaizen quickly pushed Morgaroth’s corpse away. His blood splashed into the water and his body was quickly lost in the darkness.

As Kaizen oriented himself in that desolate landscape, trying to keep his focus so as not to lose his breath, he realized that there was something watching him. He could feel it. Before it, emerging from the shadows, a pair of colossal eyes appeared in the distance. These eyes were green and their appearance was terrifying, like the eyes of a reptile, only much more horrifying in a way that is difficult to write.

“You dare to enter our domain?” The creature’s voice rang out in Kaizen’s mind, a mixture of deep growl and chilling whisper. “You will pay dearly for your boldness.”

Kaizen tightly gripped the Ragnarok Sword with his unwavering determination. He knew he was facing a formidable threat, but he would not back down. He had faced challenges before and emerged victorious.

‘I’m not afraid of you, ugly thing.’ replied Kaizen with his voice echoing in the watery environment.

‘No need to hold back, Psyker. Open your mouth, I want to hear your last words. Rest assured, it is possible to breathe within my domain.” The creature stated.

Kaizen hesitated, but then opened his mouth and shouted:

“You can come! I am not afraid of you!”
