Chapter 538 Note
With curiosity, Kaizen approached the orb containing Elara’s items. He reached out cautiously and touched it, feeling a faint heat emanating from the flaming orb.
As he did so, a series of information appeared to him, revealing the items within it.
[You obtained ‘Monolith Steel Dagger (2x)’].
[You obtained ‘Gold Medallion (1x).]
A number of other more common items appeared, but among the more than a dozen items, one in particular among them caught Kaizen’s attention.
[You obtained ‘Scroll with Written Message (1x)’].
Kaizen could choose to take the items or throw them away, but the issue now was that he was more curious than he was. Even after touching the flaming orb, Kaizen was still undecided whether to give his enemy a vote of confidence or not, he wondered about the meaning behind Elara’s request and the possibility that she was serious intrigued him.
After pondering for a few moments, Kaizen decided to take the items. Even though Elara’s offer might only be a last resort to buy his time, he believed that he couldn’t help but take advantage of any resource that would help him on his journey if she really wanted to help.
Keeping the items with him, Kaizen finally opened his inventory and clicked on the icon of the Scroll with Written Message. Upon clicking on the item’s icon, the scroll materialized in Kaizen’s hands and then unfurled and revealed a carefully handwritten message. The handwriting was elegant and precise, indicating that the message had been carefully crafted.
The message read as follows:
“Kaizen,
If you are reading this message, it means that, as I hope is the case, I have been defeated and that you have proved to be as spectacular an opponent as I imagine you to be.𝑶𝒱𝐥xt.𝒞𝒪𝔪
I would like to take this opportunity to clarify my intentions. Although I fought against you and caused chaos, my motivation was not only destruction. I wanted to get your attention, prove my strength and gain your trust. And if you are reading this letter instead of throwing it away, I believe that I have succeeded in gaining at least a fragment of your trust.
I infiltrated The Eye of Hermodr a few weeks ago, when they were recruiting, because since the last attack on the Tretidian Capital, I knew that you would always be trying to fight it. So when I proved to be an exceptional mage through some missions for them, I was able to quickly move up in their organization.
In this way, I gained some information that you might not know. The Eye of Hermodr is led by ten powerful individuals, who are called Bishops. However, contrary to what you might think, their order does not necessarily mean who is the strongest, but rather a number of factors, such as influence, prestige in the organization, power, of course, among other things.
I have not yet had the opportunity to meet all of them, but I know the powers of some of them. I also know where some of them usually work, so I can be an ally for you.
And to prove this to you, I will reveal where the Second Bishop, Morgaroth, will go when he gets what they want: the King’s Sword. Yes, that’s what he wants, that’s what they have always wanted.
In the last attack, they intended to create chaos with The Guardian of the Gates of Niflheim just to distract all the clans while they searched for the king, who was missing. However, after the king reappeared, their goal became clearer.
The First Bishop has the ability to use teleports wherever he wants, so as soon as Morgaroth obtains the King’s Sword, he will immediately be teleported to the inside of a mountain in Mibothen called God’s Thumb. However, if we are lucky and you are quick to defeat Sículo, you can still stop Morgaroth before then. Underneath the palace is a series of tunnels, a sort of crypt, leading to the tombs of the former kings of Tretidian. This is probably where the king and the princesses will be.
Morgaroth also knows about the tomb of the ancients, but, like me, he doesn’t know how to access it directly. So more than ever you will need to be smart and find the passage before him or as soon as possible.
Kaizen you are the only one who can stop them. The large guilds of Midgard are weak compared to them. I admire you for your skills and determination, and believe that together we can confront this leader and stop him.
I know that my offer may seem strange and hard to believe, but if you are willing to learn more about The Eye of Hermodr, please call me: +1 201#329779
Regardless of your decision, I respect it.
May luck be with you.
– Elara…”
“What a long letter…” Kaizen said, taking a deep breath after reading the letter. “Everything would be easier if I could just log out and see if Andrew is out there or not, so at least I would have a clue. Regardless, the information Elara passed on to me will be of great help in giving me a north…. A tomb, right? I think I have some ideas on how I can find that place.”
Kaizen then left the throne room and returned to the starting hall, where the blood trails were. Looking at the dry, red marks on the floor, Kaizen shook his shoulders, extended his right hand forward, and said:
“Hopefully this will work.”
Since <Psychokinesis> allowed Kaizen to use a huge range of psychic abilities, Kaizen was still testing the limits of the ability, and his idea this time was to try to use postcognition. In other words, he was trying to see remnants of what had already happened in this place, using blood as a channeler.
This might be a dumb idea, but if the blood among the remains of the lamia was Andrew’s, as Kaizen hoped it would be, it would lead Kaizen to the path Andrew was following.
However, even after a few seconds of trying in various ways to see into the past, nothing happened.
That being the case, Kaizen needed to leave for his second plane and he summoned Hellround to do so, who came out of Kaizen’s shadows.
“Comrade, I need you to smell a friend of mine…. Or rather, I want you to track down a man named Morgaroth!”
Hellround looked at Kaizen with a raised muzzle for a second, then sat down on the ground and turned his face away, ignoring the request.
Kaizen sighed and slapped his own forehead. “Why do I still consider you a viable alternative?”
