Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 532 Morgaroth (Part 2)

Arthas and Andrew launched a joint attack against Morgaroth, taking advantage of the gap in his defense. Their swords cut the air in rapid, coordinated movements, seeking to strike the artifact collector.

Surprised by the strategy, Morgaroth found himself temporarily at a disadvantage. He pulled a cleaver from an inner pocket of his jacket and struggled to fend off the combined blows of Arthas and Andrew, but the two warriors kept pressing forward, taking every opportunity to strike.

Meanwhile, the other guards kept Morgaroth surrounded, launching coordinated attacks to distract him and limit his movements. The cohesive formation of the guards demonstrated the experience and discipline of the royal guard.

Morgaroth, however, was no ordinary opponent. He was agile and cunning, managing to deflect and block many of the attacks directed at him. Moreover, he counterattacked with swift and precise movements, testing the guards’ endurance and skill.

Gasping for breath, Arthas took a brief moment of pause to look at Andrew. “Just attacking together was not enough. We need to find a way to overcome his agility. If we continue like this, he will find a gap and defeat us.” said Arthas, with determination in his eyes.

Andrew nodded, also realizing the difficulty of facing Morgaroth with only direct attacks. Then an idea popped into his mind. He looked at Artha, smiled and said:

“Come with me.”

Arthas frowned for a moment, but soon a determined smile formed on his face. “If this is how things are going to be, then fine.”

Then, in perfect synchrony, Arthas and Andrew advanced towards Morgaroth, gathering all their strength into a single attack. And in the midst of the onslaught, Andrew’s sword shone brightly, blinding the vision of all around like a flash of a light grenade. At that instant, Andrew extended his left hand toward Arthas and began to slow down in the same proportion that Arthas began to feel faster.

Arthas understood at once what was happening. Andrew was somehow transferring his speed to the Captain of the Royal Guard.

‘That is the power of my skill <War Magic>. I can distribute in area or to a target 50% of my total physical strength!’ Andrew stated.

The way Arthas began to run was even more impressive than before. He turned into a figure, a mere mirage of speed amidst the movement. A bright, pulsating energy began to form around Arthas, enveloping him completely. It was as if time itself slowed down around him, while his speed increased exponentially. He became a blur of motion, a beam of light amidst the darkness.

In the blink of an eye, Arthas took advantage of his new enhanced speed and launched an attack against Morgaroth, brandishing his sword in an arc and confusing the artifact collector as the sight of the sword went from being just a blade to a sequence.

Morgaroth tried to react, but his reflexes were no longer sufficient to keep up with Arthas’ speed.

Arthas’ sword cut through the air in a fluid motion, like a whip. The blow struck Morgaroth full in the air, slicing through his guard and leaving a deep mark on him. The artifact collector let out a cry of pain and surprise, and was thrown backwards with the force of the impact.

Arthas, however, was unrelenting. Taking advantage of his newfound speed, he charged forward once more and launched a series of rapid attacks, causing Morgaroth to find himself in a defensive position. Each blow seemed to come from a different direction, confusing his opponent. Meanwhile, Andrew remained slightly behind Arthas, keeping his <Magic of War> skill active to ensure that the guard captain’s speed remained enhanced. His eyes were fixed on Morgaroth, ready to act should his opponent attempt any maneuvers to counterattack.

The other guards were impressed, almost unresponsive in the face of their captain’s strength. Nevertheless, the royal family’s protective formation held.𝒐𝑣𝒍xt.𝗇𝓔t

In a moment of audacity, Morgaroth tried a surprise attack, striking a blow towards Andrew, who was further away. However, the agile warrior managed to dodge at the last moment, keeping his concentration on maintaining the skill for Arthas.

This was the opening Arthas needed. He launched himself at Morgaroth with an attack even more ferocious than the first, this time with his sword flashing like lightning. The blade cut the air with devastating force, and Morgaroth could not dodge it in time. The blow found its target, piercing the artifact collector’s chest.

A cry of pain echoed through the battlefield, and Morgaroth staggered backwards, his eyes bulging, and at that moment Andrew and Arthas thought it was all over, but the audacious smile that appeared on Morgaroth’s face proved otherwise.

Morgaroth’s smile was sinister and full of malice. Even with a trembling hole in his chest, he was still standing.

Arthas, Andrew and everyone else were momentarily shocked at the stamina, determination and vitality of the artifact collector.

“What a thing this guy is?” Arthas inquired, shocked.

Morgaroth smiled, leaned forward, making a regal greeting as he bowed his head and revealed:

“Allow me to properly introduce myself this time. I am Morgaroth, the Second Bishop of The Eye of Hermodr, and one of the few who have ever seen the face of the future we seek to make real.”

With one swift movement, Morgaroth grabbed Arthas’ sword, which was still wedged into his body, and pulled it hard, knocking it out of his hands, and without wasting any time, he took advantage of everyone’s shock to counterattack. He charged forward, reaching a speed greater even than Arthas had before, and struck the Kingsguard Captain with a powerful blow with his own sword, causing him to fly back dozens of meters in a single second, until he was nailed to the ceiling of the chamber.
