Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 392 Ryeis Versus Kaizen (Part 3)

When Ryeis was hit by Kaizen, he backed away without a second thought. However, his eyes narrowed as he realized that Kaizen was about to launch another attack without giving him time to recover. Ryeis knew he had to act quickly to defend himself, and just as Kaizen’s blade was about to strike him again, the Crystal Sword Warrior nimbly dodged and, in one fluid motion, advanced toward Kaizen with an impressive, almost paranormal speed.

The crowd was stunned as Ryeis revealed these hidden physical abilities. What’s more, the wound on his shoulder caused by Kaizen’s sword began to heal quickly, and even with the torn bone, it ended up regenerating itself in moments, which would not be normal even with advanced potions, let alone none at all.

At that moment, in the midst of the attack, Kaizen saw Ryeis’ eyes glow a deep red and his fangs grow longer, revealing his true nature.

“A vampire?” muttered Kaizen, surprised by the discovery.

Ryeis stepped forward with renewed ferocity and attacked Kaizen with incredible speed and strength, knocking him away with a single blow.

The crowd was in shock, unable to believe what they were seeing. Everyone knew that Ryeis was very strong, but this sudden burst of power was new to everyone.

When Kaizen fell to the ground, he had no more than a second to try to get up, because in that short time, Ryeis quickly caught up with him, and so the battle reached a new level of intensity, with Ryeis revealing that he had even more tremendous physical abilities than before. He used his supernatural agility and speed to evade Kaizen’s attempts at counterattack and fought back with uncontrollable fury.

As the battle continued, Kaizen realized that his chances of winning were dwindling. He needed to find a way to deal with Ryeis’s vampiric physical abilities, but finding a way to break through his impenetrable defenses was difficult enough before, so beating him now that his regeneration had been accelerated was almost impossible, not to mention the increase in all of his physical and magical attributes.

Before, Kaizen was able to compete with him because he used <Giant’s Lungs> to double his attributes, but with Ryei’s improvement, that was almost useless. To all onlookers, Kaizen was definitely backed into a corner now that his physical abilities were no longer enough. However, Kaizen did not share this opinion.

“You’re good, Ryeis, and your crystal is very good.” Kaizen complimented him with his hand on his jaw, just after he had taken a blow to the face.

Ryeis smiled and smugly tossed her long dark hair to the side. “No need to flatter me, I will not…”

“But that won’t be enough to defeat me.” Kaizen said, looking into his opponent’s eyes and interrupting him.

At that moment, Ryeis closed his eyes and placed the crystal sword in front of his back. “You have the nerve to say that when you haven’t been able to do any damage to me for over two minutes?”

“Don’t get so confident yet. You haven’t even taken 20% of my life in all that time, and that time frame was enough for me to learn a lot about you. For example, that you have the abilities of a vampire, that is more than clear to everyone, I think. …. However, those abilities are not within you, are they?” Kaizen asked, causing everyone in the Valkyria Arena to fall silent, including Ryeis, who looked down at his sword.

“Shut up and fight!” Ryeis said after a few moments, charging at the Psyker with his overwhelming speed.

The blades of their swords collided at that moment, producing a metallic hiss. As Kaizen resisted Ryeis’ power, feeling his body pushed back and his feet sliding across the sand of the battlefield, he looked at the crystal sword and said:

“You think it is indestructible, but I will show you that it can be broken, and that is how I will defeat you.”

Kaizen then stopped being so passive and moved forward again with his sword, aiming at Ryeis’ chest, and when Psyker’s opponent raised his sword to defend himself, Kaizen smiled, spun his body around, and skillfully landed a spinning attack. The Næġling Falske slashed Ryeis’ back from the tip of his navel to near his trachea, causing excruciating pain. Holding his left hand over the wound, Ryeis jumped backward. There was an unusual look on his face that expressed no pain, only annoyance, as if Kaizen’s attack was nothing more than a nuisance. And then, in just a few moments, the large wound had completely regenerated, leaving only the white skin of Ryeis’ abdomen visible.

While the onlookers watched in amazement, Ryeis smiled confidently at Kaizen. However, only a second after healing, the wound reopened and spilled as much blood as before, confusing Ryeis and the entire audience.

At that moment, Kaizen looked at his own sword and, holding it with his left hand, said aloud:

“That is why this sword is my favorite. It’s called the Næġling Falske, and it has the ability to apply the severe bleeding condition, and as you may know, unless you use advanced healing magic or a potion, you can’t heal yourself from severe bleeding, even with this monster regeneration.”

This time, Ryeis looked at him with hatred. “Damn you…”

“Don’t get so angry, man. There are more items where that sword came from.” Kaizen said, opening his inventory and equipping the Eye of the Storm and the Sword of the Night. “It’s time to really start playing.” He said with a villainous smile.

Kaizen was not the kind of player who would stand by while his opponent had the upper hand in battle. His mind was constantly working to find alternatives, possible scenarios, and opportunities that could be profitable. So when he realized that he would have no chance against Ryeis in a normal physical hand-to-hand fight, he resorted to the most uncomfortable way of fighting for his opponents: the triple use of swords.

Using three weapons at once was something that no class in Rise Online or any other MMORPG allowed, it was like bypassing the classic system that a knight must use a sword, an archer a bow, and a mage a staff, except that the psychic class was the only one that allowed it, thanks to the <Psychokinesis> ability. In this way, Kaizen controlled the three swords in the air with his own mind, making them dance in the air like swift birds.
