Chapter 150 Master Of Languages
As soon as he entered the game, Kaizen opened his inventory and clicked on the item ‘Blessing of Bastet’. A cat mask, made of porcelain and painted with black paint, appeared in his right hand.
“Wear Blessing of Bastet.”
Just as happened when he summoned Hellround earlier, the cat mask floated, spun on its own axis for a few moments, and exploded into black particles that entered Kaizen’s chest.
[You have earned the title ‘Master of Languages’].
[Thanks to the title ‘Talented’, you learned a skill from the Title ‘Master of Languages’].
[You learned the skill called ‘Writer’].
Kaizen was not even surprised that he gained a title by wearing the mask, because in Rise Online it is not possible, as far as is known, to obtain skills that are not of the three fundamental types, which are: Title, Class and Profession skills. Of course, the skill <Apograph Skills> was an exception to this rule.
Still, that didn’t stop Kaizen from once again being surprised at how useful the title ‘Talented’ was, because it allowed him to learn another skill.
[Title Skill: Writer
The skill of a writer goes far beyond knowing grammar, paraphrasing, and other terms that are intrinsically tied to a language. A writer’s skill is also connected to his heart.
This skill allows the bearer to make manuscripts of foreign languages and learn them more easily.
(80 Intelligence is required to use this skill).
Class Points required to evolve: 0 of 2].
Upon analyzing the skill, Kaizen realized that the skill was extremely useful to him, because it meant that he could learn any existing language in the game with ease and could do so much faster than any other player. However, the skill had a requirement of 80 Intelligence points to be used, and Kaizen currently only had 55 Intelligence.
This meant that he would have to wait until his Intelligence increased before he could use the skill, or else he could do something to increase his Intelligence.
Something that he knew would probably help increase his Intelligence would be to do intellectual activities, because whenever he used his brain a lot to think about plans his Intelligence points went up.
“The City Library would be a good place to get some books to increase my intelligence, but at the moment that place is packed. I also need to go to the Royal Palace or maybe I can return to Holinda and ask that favor back to Korgrak…”
Kaizen’s options were so many that he couldn’t decide which was the best, at least not until he remembered that there was still one last item that he didn’t check. An item that, like the Blessing of Bastet, he had earned thanks to the event. So he opened his inventory once again and clicked on the item ‘The Key to the Mage’s Tower.
“Isabella said that this item was highly sought after, I bet it’s worth a grand…. However, I am evolving faster than I expected and need to find ways to stay ahead of any other player on the same level as me.” Kaizen said and clicked on the key icon.
An old, rusty key began to form by dice in front of him, who smiled confidently as he waited for the key to form.
Once the emergence was over in a few moments, Kaizen picked up the key and felt something different for the first time when touching an item. This item was not like any other he had ever encountered or touched. A tingling sensation plagued his fingertips and he could have sworn he was feeling the electricity that was naturally coursing through his veins at that moment.
Kaizen’s eyes sparkled as he used the <Analyzer Eye> to check the statistics of this item.
[Item: The Key to the Wizard’s Tower
A mysterious key that leads to the Wizard’s Tower. No one knows its true power, but several rumors say that this key holds a power that should not be divulged.
Class: Sacred
Item Level: 1 of 1
Attack: 0
Defense: 0
Fitness level needed: 50.𝒪𝗏𝐥xt.𝓬𝗈𝓂
(If your Physical Fitness is below the required level, you will be afflicted with the ‘Madness’ condition].
Upon analyzing the item, Kaizen realized that the Physical Fitness level needed to use the item was quite high and that his Physical Fitness level was enough, so he smiled.
Kaizen was feeling lucky to have such a useful skill as <Analyzing Eye> because it got him out of some trouble.
Normal players usually didn’t have the privilege of seeing item stats as deeply as the <Analyzer Eye> made possible. Usually, players could only see the Class, Item Level, Attack, Defense, and Fitness Level, but never the consequences of using item, nor could they tell if it was cursed or not.
Anyway, Kaizen looked at the ancient key in his hand and uttered:
“Use ‘The Key to the Mage Tower’.”
[‘The Key to the Mages’ Tower’ was used].
[The Great Library of the Magi was opened.]
A translucent portal appeared before Kaizen in the alley, where before there was a massive stone wall. Through the portal, Kaizen could see shelves that exceeded ten meters in height filled with books.
Kaizen didn’t even have time to be surprised by the Library’s appearance, for as soon as the Library appeared, he was sucked into it, not literally, but by his almost instinctive desire to explore new places.
“Ow… That place looks gigantic.” Kaizen said, stepping through the portal without a second thought.
The Library of the Magi was a place of incomparable and unimaginable architecture. Looking up, Kaizen saw staircases and corridors that moved majestically on their own, as well as shelves that looked as old as the colossal monuments of the Royal City. The place was literally the most amazing fantasy library Kaizen had ever seen.
Unable to hold back his own desire and curiosity to explore this place, Kaizen began to walk through the halls. His every step on the fine quartz tile reverberated through this silent place. However, Psyker did not yet know that he was not alone in this place.
As Kaizen walked through the maze of shelves, he began to hear some strange noises, as if something was spinning. This sound was soft and low, but since even the moving of the stairs over the boy’s head didn’t make a sound, he couldn’t ignore such an inviting sound.
As Kaizen turned to the right at a crossroads of shelves, he saw a figure in a red cloak. This figure was crouching near one of the shelves and seemed to be looking for something.
From the long blond hair, he could tell that the figure was a woman, and from the slightly upturned face, he would say that she was young, probably between eighteen years old, but there was no way to know for sure how old she was yet.
When the woman saw a silhouette in her peripheral field of vision, she turned to look at Kaizen and soon made him realize that she was no ordinary girl. Her beauty was almost incomparable to any other character Kaizen had ever seen in Rise Online. The only people who came close to her level of beauty were Ravastine or Bleeding Lily.
This woman’s skin looked so smooth it seemed as if it was made of porcelain and her expression was so angelic it seemed impossible to be real. Her mouth was as red as a ruby and her long blonde locks cascaded down her back. What caught Kaizen’s attention, however, was the yellow glow in the woman’s eyes.
The woman wearing a long tunic and a leather belt at her waist carried a book.
Before saying anything, this woman stood up and, while extending her right hand forward forcefully, she shouted:
“<Lunar Wave>.”
The book that was on her belt flew to her side, the leaves moved quickly and an overwhelming jet of water was shot from the pages of that book at Kaizen, who had no time to dodge the water and was thrown backwards until he hit one of the shelves hard.
His vision blurred and he felt dizzy. Just as Kaizen was about to get up again, he saw the woman standing before him. She had her hands on her waist and asked:
“What do you want, trespasser?”
