Chapter 123 First Horde (Part 2)
[You have lost 127 HP points.]
Kaizen heard the voice of the system warn him. He hadn’t expected his opponent to be so strong that she could throw him so hard.
With his vision slightly blurred by the adrenaline that suddenly dulled his veins, Kaizen looked at the woman and used <Analyzing Eye>.

‘So, she’s probably responsible for these zombies…’ Kaizen theorized, looking at the three zombies who ignored the witch before them and walked towards him.
Still feeling great pain all over his body, the Psyker stood up, leaning on the wall he had hit.
The Necromantic Witch, surprised at Kaizen’s quick recovery, extended her left hand forward while looking at the grimoire and said:
“Aren’t you convinced you’re going to die!? Don’t worry, I’ll show you what death is for you! <Deceased’s Contract>!”
As she shouted, the sinister aura around the magic book increased considerably and when she said the name of her ability, the pages of the grimoire were flipped once again, launching a beam of black energy in Kaizen’s direction. This magic was so fast that Kaizen knew that even his great armor couldn’t hold all the damage, so he instinctively used <Telekinesis>.
The witch was confident that this second blow would be enough to turn the player into dust, so she closed her grimoire after the magic was cast and smiled debauchedly. However, she saw with her own eyes her magic stop with the outstretching of Kaizen’s arm.
In his vision, he had not expected that his attempt to hold the witch’s magic with <Telekinesis> could work and so he was as shocked as the woman, both staring at his right hand.
‘That’s not possible! At least, it shouldn’t be… No matter what level of a psychic magic user, no mage with those abilities would be able to stop an attack from me.’ The witch thought, in desperation.
Kaizen didn’t hold back, and since holding this for a few moments was consuming too much of his mana, he strained to try to throw it back at the witch.
An overwhelming gravitational force pressed on his arms, but even this was not able to stop him. As the black beam practically reflected off this psychic barrier Kaizen had erected, it returned with less intensity. Even so, his opponent’s guard was down and she didn’t have enough time to react and was hit hard.
The Necromantic Witch was thrown backwards by the impact of her own magic. Overwhelming pain radiated from all her limbs and her joints ached as if someone was slowly crushing them.
[Nebula took 655 damage].
The notification warned Kaizen.
The pain was unbearable for the woman, so she immediately used <Gar of the Dead> to heal herself and thus lessen the pain considerably. The witch was still shocked by what happened and as she tried to stand up, she realized that her right leg was almost broken and she could not use it to balance herself.
“I-I’m not going to lose here!” The Necromantic Witch screamed, although the pain was still intense, she managed to stand up.
The three zombies walking behind Kaizen were already close to him, so he couldn’t stand around looking at the woman, so he concentrated on dealing with the zombies.
Kaizen didn’t have much experience in fighting zombies, but he knew that ripping their heads off would probably do the trick. His eyes scanned the area around him in a second and found his sword lying on the ground more than two meters away. He knew he had only a few seconds before the witch fully recovered from her own attack. That being the case, he ran towards the zombies while drawing his sword with his right hand.
When he felt the handle of his weapon in the palm of his hand, he quickly swung the sword toward the zombie in front of him, which was a woman.
Easily, the sword sliced through the woman’s head and the monster shattered into thin air, just like all the others. Then Kaizen made a fast turn to attack the next zombie, which was too slow to dodge and too brainless to react at all. Again, another head was cut off very easily.
The skin of these monsters was weak and rotten, so a weapon as good as the Butter Bear Sword did its job of cutting with mastery.
There was only one zombie left, and Kaizen knew he didn’t have much time left, so he used <Telekinesis> to pull it close and drive the sword into the middle of its skull. This worked and the monster turned into black particles.
‘It seems that, contrary to what I thought when I saw them, they are very weak.’ Kaizen thought after he finished.
The Necromantic Witch walked towards him, limping and leaning on the wall for balance. As she got close to Kaizen, she shouted, “You will not escape death! <Black Flame>!”
Unlike the previous magic, this was an area attack magic that Kaizen could not strike back, because the attack was constant and not a projectile. Still, Kaizen tried to protect himself by forming a psychic barrier with his inherent ability.
‘At least if I had a few more abilities…’ he thought, mournfully.
The mana he had was enough to allow him to keep himself safe until the black flames stopped being expelled by the witch’s grimoire. When her magic finally ended, Kaizen felt numbness all over his body, and when he looked at his MP bar, he saw that he had less than ten points left. This was not even enough to guide an arrow shot.
He looked ahead and noticed that the Necromantic Witch didn’t even look tired after casting so many spells, which was easily explained by the tremendous amount of MP she had.𝒐𝓋𝐥xt.𝗇𝓔t
Even though his eyes were heavy and he was discouraged because of his low mana reserve, Kaizen smiled because for the first time he was fighting someone really very strong.
“Your moves… I can’t believe it! You’re really good with psychic magic! When I kill you, I will devour your heart and soul to become even stronger!” The Necromantic Witch screamed and, after a reckless impulse, attacked Kaizen with one hand.
Kaizen knew he couldn’t use his magic to attack directly, so he tried to dodge. Since the woman’s speed attribute was considerably lower than Psyker’s agility attribute, he was able to dodge with ease, taking advantage of the same dodging move to slash one of the witch’s arms.
Her life points were halved by one limb being torn off, and the pain was so intense that she vociferated:
“I’ll kill you, you damned worm! You can’t run away from me!”
“And who says I want to run away?” inquired Kaizen with her characteristic excited smile.
The Necromantic Witch attacked again, but this time her speed was not as high, allowing Kaizen to dodge again. He continued to dodge and dodge the physical attacks, eventually striking when he had the opportunity. Gradually, the woman’s life points decreased little by little. She continued to attack, but her movements became slower and heavier. The anger made her blind enough not to notice for a while that she was doing better when she was using her spells, but she was still fighting.
Only when she noticed that her vision was becoming blurred and tunneled, did she take a few steps back. Kaizen tried to stop her from even taking a breath, pressing down with a thrust, but under the witch’s feet a puddle of mud suddenly appeared, which she stepped into. This puddle dried up in moments and appeared a few meters further down the street.
“Why are you running away after shouting so proudly that you would kill me?” Kaizen questioned.
The Necromantic Witch looked at him angrily, opened her grimoire again, and uttered:
“The battle is just beginning, man. The time has come for me to introduce you to one of my finest creations.”
Suddenly in the air appeared one of those puddles of black, slimy slime with which she moved, but this time instead of her entering, from within the puddle a hideous creature began to emerge. It was a human looking creature, but it had black and scaly skin. Its arms were deformed into claws, like two spears. Its teeth were sharp and its eyes seemed to be injected with blood, because they glowed red. The creature let out a fierce roar as it was released from its prison.
*RUUUUUU*
“This is one of my servants! the monster I created with the power to control life and death!” The Necromantic Witch shouted.
‘I knew it would do this at one time or another given the name it bears, but this creature is too cool! Easy, don’t get so excited.’ Kaizen thought.
