Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)
Chapter 695: Gifting Weapons
Third Person’s POV
The room fell silent.
Neither Eleanor nor Aurelia immediately responded.
They simply stared at Ethan, processing his words.
A complicated rush of gratitude toward Arlene filled their hearts.
Without her warning, Ethan might never have arrived in time to save them.
Yet after several moments of silence, Eleanor suddenly spoke.
She had a thoughtful look in her violet eyes as she studied her son.
"You intend to deal with that prince in this realm itself, don’t you, my son?"
Ethan’s eyes widened slightly before he clapped his hands together with an impressed expression.
"Well, kind of, yeah."
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"You will see.
The misery I will put him through for daring to use me and lay his filthy eyes on the two of you..."
The temperature of the room seemed to drop.
A terrifying darkness flashed through Ethan’s crimson eyes, carrying a murderous intent so cold and heavy that both women felt their bodies stiffen.
For an instant, it seemed as though the room around them had transformed into an icy, dark hell.
Chills ran down their spines as an oppressive sensation spread through the isolation barrier.
But just as quickly as it appeared, the terrifying feeling disappeared.
Ethan’s expression returned to normal, his murderous intent completely concealed once more, as though the terrifying presence from a moment ago had never existed.
"Now then, I didn’t expect things to happen this soon or so suddenly, so I didn’t have anything prepared.
But I still have something that the two of you might like."
Ethan smiled, immediately filling both women’s eyes with anticipation.
Seeing their reactions, he couldn’t help but smile a little wider before flicking his hand.
Two emerald-green blades suddenly appeared in his grasp.
They were thin and lethally sharp, their slender blades almost resembling the delicate wings of cicadas. ℯ
Even without testing them, Aurelia could immediately sense the faint wind element fluctuations coming from within the weapons.
Ethan handed the twin blades to Aurelia, causing her eyes to widen in surprise.
"Imbue your mana into them."
Aurelia immediately followed his instruction.
The instant her mana flowed into the weapons, the twin blades released a sharp, humming sound that sounded like an insect’s buzzing wings, while intricate green wind-element runes flashed across their surfaces.
A faint current of wind wrapped around the blades, causing the strands of her hair to flutter slightly despite there being no actual breeze inside the room.
Aurelia stared at them in amazement.
"These are top rank three weapons, perfectly suited for a wind mage.
They will be more than enough for you until the day you break through to the Sky Realm."
Ethan looked at her with a pleased smile.
"Is it to your liking?"
Aurelia’s throat bobbed as she stared at the weapons in disbelief.
She knew exactly how rare and expensive top rank three mage weapons were.
Not every magical weapon was categorized as a mage weapon.
Most mages simply didn’t possess the physical strength required to wield melee weapons effectively in close combat, making such weapons impractical for the majority of them.
A mage could certainly use a magical weapon, but unless it was specifically designed to complement their style of combat, there was little reason for them to carry one into battle.
Magical weapons designed for aura masters were also expensive, but they were nowhere near as rare as weapons specifically designed for mages.
Aurelia couldn’t help wondering where Ethan had obtained such valuable weapons.
But after everything she had already learned about his experiences and the unimaginable things he had gone through during the past ten years, this was hardly enough to surprise her for long.
"It’s perfect..."
She whispered the first words that came to her mind as her fingers slowly traced the smooth surface of the twin blades, appreciating their craftsmanship and the feeling of her wind mana resonating with the wind runes flashing on the blades.
There was a faint smile on her face as she looked at the weapons, and Ethan’s expression brightened slightly at her reaction.
The weapons he had extorted from that master refiner the previous day were all mage weapons, explaining his reaction towards Ethan when he belittled him.
Such weapons were exceedingly rare and the refiners who could forge them were respected everywhere due to the rarity of such craftsmanship.
Mage weapons possessed a special property that allowed them to change their form.
However, this transformation could only be performed once, after the weapon had been soul-bound to its master.
Since Ethan had not bonded with any of the three weapons he had obtained from the master refiner, their forms could still be changed.
He had specifically chosen these twin emerald blades with Aurelia in mind.
He had wanted to give them to her from the moment he obtained them, so seeing her genuinely pleased with the gift made him feel considerably satisfied.
After watching her examine the weapons for a few more moments, Ethan turned toward his mother.
Eleanor was watching him expectantly, and the moment their eyes met, Ethan understood that she was waiting to see what her son had prepared for her.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he raised his hand.
In the next instant, a huge icy broadsword materialized in his grasp.
The broad blade carried a faint chill that immediately spread through the surrounding air, and even though Ethan wasn’t actively circulating any mana through it, the weapon still gave off a formidable feeling.
Before he could extend it toward her, however, Eleanor immediately shook her head.
"I can’t take that."
Ethan’s smile froze.
"Why, Mother?"
He looked at the sword and then back at her, a worried frown appearing on his face.
"Is it not to your liking? If you don’t like its current form, that’s fine.
It’s also a top rank three mage weapon.
You can reshape it into whatever form you prefer."
Eleanor couldn’t help smiling at the concern written across her son’s face.
She reached out and gently stroked his cheek.
"My poor child... Even after everything you have been through, you are still being so meticulous and thoughtful in front of your mother."
