Rise Of The Hoarder

292 Teamwork

Ever since the Tutorial was over and the Main Scenario started, everyone automatically had the chance to choose a Primary Job.

Even without the requirement of Level 50, this opportunity presented itself to everyone. This was why, in this new era, even those with less than Level 50 had Jobs attached to them.

Nate’s Party was comprised of five Gifteds, all at least Level 50, as was the requirement for joining. Even Sara, who was the weakest among them, was Level 51. Darwin and Terry were Level 56 and 57 respectively.

Their Levels could be considered on the high side of the average Gifted, but that didn’t mean they were very strong. At least, not strong enough to challenge a Grade 2 and hope to come out unscathed.

“We’ll have to go all-out!” Darwin took charge, being the most mature of everyone present.

They could try outrunning the Demon, but its Stats showed that it was faster than them. Plus, leaving their blind spot open to an opponent who could shoot out acid was a terrible plan. Ultimately, if they could disable the monster and escape, that would be the best call.

‘We just have to ensure it can’t move for a while, then we head to the right path of the corridor…’

With that in mind, the team took formation!.

“We can’t afford to withhold our cards! Sarah, begin the summoning. We’ll cover you and buy time!”

With those words uttered, Darwin, Terry, and Tia took the front charge, leaving Sara at the rear. Usually, a person would guard her from behind, but their enemy was in sight… and it was at their front.

Sure, it would also be wise to protect Sara from surprise attacks that could come from behind, however…

‘The enemy is too strong! We can’t afford to thin out or formation!’

… The most effective means of fighting was to bombard their opponent with all they had!

“I’ll go first!” Darwin declared.

Everyone nodded and trailed behind the man, causing the air to howl as a result of their high-speed movements.

>WHOOOOSSSHHH<

The monster brought down its enormous hand, sending a wave of chilly wind to course through the body of those who approached it.

Still, knowing their survival depended on the resistance they put up, the group of Gifteds hurriedly mmoved their bodies, activating whatever decent Skills they had in their arsenals.

Heck, they used them all!

When fighting an opponent that was too strong, being conservative would only get one killed. If they didn’t use their full powers now and died, then it would all have been for nothing.

Darwin used <Fireball> and launched it at the terrifying creature. In response to his gear’s special effect that improved the damage dealt and automatically fired at the enemy’s weak spot, the flames grew slightly bigger and more intense.

“Grrrriiiikkkkk!!!”

The Demon saw the approaching ball and swatted it with its had, before it could reach the weak spot. It was no different from how humans would swat away a piece of paper or a rubber ball.

>BOOOOMMM!!!<

The explosion occurred to the side unable to deal any damage. Hoowever, this was within expectation, as Tia had used her Thief Skill to sneak behind the monster and would now use her Gift to…

“Take this… [IMMOBILIZE]!”

The Demon halted its movement, completely rigid as it stood. The members of Tia’s team were happy that their pplan worked. All they had to do was deal enough damage that the beast stayed still until the could make their escape.

Tia’s Gift, [Immobilize] granted her the ability to completely stop the motion of anything she saw… as long as they weren’t seeing her. In essence, if she was hiding, she could stop anyone from taking a single step. Of course, the effects would be broken if her target lay eyes on her.

As a result, she often used her Thief moves to get behind her opponent to use her Gift. That was the whole reason she chose being a Thief!

With this… what came next was…

“<Lightning Bolt>” Terry’s loud voice declared.

Instantly, a flash of lightening appeared and lunged straight at the opponent.

>BZZZTTZZZZZ!!!<

The effects of his attire, which provided for both offense and defense, allowed him to shorten the cast time of his Spell. After obtaining the <Spell Conjuring (Basic)> Skill, Terry had devoted himself to reaching the highest point, leading to him unlocking the Lightening Spell he just used.

Even with his overcautious personality, Terry still surpassed most Mages in his Level with his Magic Prowess. This is because while other focused on diversification, he intentionally limited his growth tree and focused in one direction, granting him more firepower.

In essence, he was one of the team’s trump card!

>KKRRAAAKKK!!!<

The Spell hit, causing the body of their foe to be enveloped in blue electrical currents.

It lasted for a few seconds, before the energy completely dispersed. Afterward, Terry knew he had to do another, and another, and another!

Thanks to his gear and proficiency, there was barely any gap in the cast time and cooldown period. Even though the health of the monster was dropping at a snail’s pace, with this surefire strategy, they had a chance!

‘The only issue now is… my MP!’

Sure enough, even though his Spells were strong, they consumed Mana Points like crazy. As a result, he wasn’t fond of using them in succession. It wasn’t like he had any choice now, though.

Terry didn’t worry, though. After all, in preparation for this Dungeon raid, he had specifically bought four Mana Restorative potions, and they filled four out of the five Slots in his Inventory. All he had to do was restore his Mana as he used his Spell, creating a never-ending chain of attacks.

Of course, even with all his potions and his powerful Spells, Terry knew it would be impossible to slay the Grade 2 Demon by himself. However, the goal wasn’t to kill it, but to render it incapable of movement for some time.

‘The <Stunned> Status Condition should appear after a few more rapid hits…’ Terry smiled, opening his INVENTORY to retrieve an MP Restorative Potion.

To his surprise, though… nothing was there!

“E-ehh….?!”
