Chapter 500 - Doubting A Divine Being?
"How the hell should I know?! Wait…maybe he wants to take over your body! That way…he can not only get a new soul plane but also gain your Origin Seed and transfer his own as well! Shit! How did I not see this coming?" Luna said in self-realization.
"You stupid goddess. How dare you drag my Master into trouble. How could you have not thought about such a simple fact?" Kalypso was incensed since it seemed like Luna had convinced Damien to come here and attract Yohr's attention.
"You little spirit, know your place! It's not like I expected a mortal to have the ability to possess an Origin Seed in the first place. Besides, which divine being would deign themselves to possess the body of a mortal? You must know as well it's almost impossible to achieve divinity with a mortal body. I just didn't expect this shameless bastard of a god to be this desperate."
Luna was feeling aggrieved since it was not like she hadn't thought about it clearly before. She knew how desperate Damien was to save Lily by taking down the Xeton Empire the fastest way possible.
She clearly warned him at that time that he was taking a risky gamble by coming to the Xeton Empire and revealing himself to the Xeton God. However, she didn't want to blame Damien at this moment since she could understand where he was coming from, and right now was not the time to play the blame game as well.
Damien genuinely thought that the Xeton God was probably a benevolent one since he even trained Reva and even gave her his own divine ethereal arts to learn. Why would he do so much for a mortal if he was a divine being? He thought it was to pass down his inheritance before his soul dissipates, as Reva said, but only now he knew that this motherfucker might be having ulterior motives in doing all this.
"Can you guys stop arguing and give me a damn solution!" Damien was enduring this pressure with every inch of his soul, feeling that his mind would shatter if he relaxed for just one moment. But he knew that only because of Luna and Kalypso's presence in his soul plane was he able to endure such pressure from a divine being even if Yohr was not going all out.
Yohr was surprised to see Damien still appearing so calm despite subtly exerting his soul force to force Damien to come to a decision quickly. Strangely enough, he wondered why Damien was so hard to read.
How could he not see what a mortal was thinking about or pick up any signs to deduce his thoughts?
No matter how restless he was getting, Yohr didn't dare to exert any more soul force since that would kill Damien for sure.
Damien again realized how insignificant he was, feeling immobilized with just a thought from a divine being. He couldn't even see Yohr's true body and only sensed his presence.
Luna sighed and said, "We can only wait and see. We committed a mistake, and now we have no option but to go through with it."
Kalypso also stopped arguing with Luna, and instead, she was busy thinking of a way to save her Master from this precarious situation.
"Wait…he still doesn't suspect Damien suspects him, right? He doesn't even know Damien already knew what an Origin Seed was. How about we use this to our advantage?" Kalypso proposed.
"What do you mean?" Luna asked with a raised brow while Damien decided to buy some time while these two divine beings discussed with each other to come up with a plan, "Senior Yohr, I have finally made a decision."
The pressure subtly decreased, making Damien feel as if a mountain of iron was lifted from his back.
"Good. So what will it be?" Yohr asked with a hint of eagerness in his voice.
Damien took a moment to gather his breath and answered, "I am willing to let senior remove this demonic seed from my body. But one thing that worries me is will I die since this thing is located inside my ethereal core? Things like removing it couldn't be simple, right?"
"Well…you are worrying too much. How could an expert like me not know how to remove such a small thing from a mortal? Do you doubt my divine expertise, boy?" Yohr asked as his tone became stern for a moment, feeling annoyed by Damien's questions.
If he made a decision, he should just shut up and follow through it instead of asking so many questions. Was his little mortal life that precious when he can only at best live a few more centuries?
"Guys, this sly god is not even trying to take over my body by force. Why is he trying so hard to gain my permission to look at my Origin Seed?" Damien mentally asked Luna and Kalypso.
Luna and Kalypso, who were busy discussing, took note of this point as well.
"Because the Origin Seed can self-destruct upon the owner's wish. If he tries to take your body over by force, he is probably afraid that you will self-destruct your Origin Seed and ruin all his plans," Luna speculated.
"So that is why indeed he is trying so hard to fool you," Kalypso sneered.
Damien answered Yohr in a frantic tone, "Of course not, Senior Yohr. How could a mortal like me dare to doubt your divine knowledge? I merely have so much to lose thus, forgive me for worrying too much about this. But before we do this, can I have a small talk with Reva just in case something happens to me after this? Again, I do not doubt your expertise but just to reassure myself."
Silence suddenly descended for a few moments before Yohr said in a calm tone, "Very well. Go and talk to her."
'Phew!' Damien inwardly sighed in relief, "Thank you, Senior!" He then immediately turned around and walked back towards the opening ahead, wanting to warn Reva that the Master she revered and respected was just using her all this time.
But right before he could leave, he suddenly felt a boundless ravaging force flooding into his body like a tsunami and immobilizing him completely! He couldn't even circulate a wisp of his ethereal energy and lost all contact with his ethereal core as well, making him feel like there was a huge hole in his chest.
"Do you seriously think you can fool me, boy?!" Yohr's incensed tone suddenly boomed in Damien's mind, making him shocked, wondering if he accidentally slipped up and if he was going to die?
