Chapter 361 Massacre
Nathasia was at the very back of the prison room, having her hands chained to the wall. Her vision was covered by the backs of many soldiers nervously standing while facing forward.
But she could vaguely see the sturdy metal door ahead, which was the entrance to the prison room and the only way Damien was going to enter.
Her eyes were fixated on that door without even blinking.
*CRUKKK!*
Suddenly the prison door began to deform as the sound of metal being bent resounded. Everyone gulped when they saw the door being slowly mangled.
And before they knew it the door crumbled and was blasted away, revealing darkness outside with only a pair of crimson eyes peering into their souls.
Everyone cocked their guns as their sweaty fingers slipped onto the triggers.
And before they knew it, a sword slowly became visible as a figure emerged from within the darkness.
Ripley somehow gathered some courage after a lot of hesitation and said, "Please...you don't have to do this. W-We can talk...what happened wasn't really our fault."
The others didn't have any idea why they still didn't press the triggers but, at the same time, was surprised that Ripley had the guts to talk to the Crimson Devil.
Damien let out a sardonic chuckle, "Yes. We can." His expression then became stiff and deathly cold as he continued, "In hell."
And before Ripley could realize or digest his words, Damien shot forward and brought his sword upon Ripley, easily cutting him in half.
The others had their eyes became wide as saucers as their bodies involuntarily turned to shoot at him.
*Tak! Tak! Tak! Tak!*
Sounds of bullets being fired all at one echoed in the room as bright flashes accompanied them.
"Ughh!!"
"Aarghhh!"
"Aaaah!!"
But Damien began to flash around them as his sword continued to cleanly cut through the soldiers as if he was cutting butter.
He didn't even instantly kill them like he did Ripley but them at several places in immediate succession to let them die a slow and painful death to the point they could only writhe on the ground as they continued to bleed to death.
Not even a single bullet touched him. But rather, some of the soldiers accidentally killed their fellow comrades.
The air was filled with the smell of death and despair as the soldiers continued to fall one by one, their struggles completely vain.
Finally, the gunfire ceased when the prison room was filled with blood and corpses. It was a complete one-sided massacre that could send chills over one's blood.
Damien stood in the middle, his sword dripping with blood.
Nathasia was unfazed by what happened as if she was used to seeing so many people getting cut down, or it was just that she couldn't care less.
However, her expression became complicated when she finally saw him clearly and tried to open her mouth a few times to say something to him, but no words came out of her mouth.
Just from one look at his face, she could see the intense rage, resentment, and sadness he was carrying within his heart.
However, before Damien could look at Nathasia, he saw the only other door in the prison room and frowned as he walked to it.
He again destroyed the metal door as he saw what was inside.
"Ahh!"
"Please, let us go!!"
"Please don't hurt us!"
"You devil!! You killed them!"
"Go to hell, you devil!"
The moment they saw Damien, many began to plead while the few of them realized that their loved ones were killed outside, seeing the blood dripping from his sword, and began to curse at him, fully believing that they were dead anyway.
However, hearing the name 'devil', Damien gave a death stare at those women who cursed at him, and immediately they cowered, feeling as if their hearts were plunged into a deathly cold abyss.
He raised his sword and simply did a slash in the air, cutting down the women who cursed him without even having his sword physically cut through them.
"Ahhh!!!"
"No!!!"
The others screamed in panic and horror, but soon Nathasia heard those screams stifle before the entire room became deathly silent.
She didn't have to think much to know what happened but couldn't find it anywhere in her to think bad of Damien for what he did now, considering what he had to go through all these years and how his family was killed just recently.
After a few moments, Damien came out of the room and finally looked at Nathasia.
But Nathasia was taken aback by the way he was looking at her without containing any emotion. It was as if he was looking at a stranger with cold eyes.
He slowly came forward and grabbed her bloodied face while looking into her eyes. He could see that she was in pretty bad shape and could guess how she was treated for the past few days.
"I-I am sorry…" Nathasia was somehow able to cough out three words. However, Damien's expression remained unfazed as he slowly raised his sword.
Nathasia saw how the bloodied sword was looming over her head and thought that he wanted to end her because of how angry he was with her.
She, however, didn't plead for her life and instead drooped her neck as if she was ready to pay for the loss that happened to him because of her.
*CLANK!*
But her eyes fluttered as she got startled by the sound of chains falling on the ground while feeling them falling off from her wrists.
She opened her eyes in shock and was surprised to see that Damien had cut off the chains that bound her.
But he didn't say anything else as he simply turned and walked away without sparing her another glance.
"W-Wait…" Nathasia said in a weak voice as she stumbled forward, feeling weakness all over her body, including her legs.
But Damien seemed to turn a deaf ear to her as he continued to walk away.
Nathasia's eyes became resolute as she mustered up all the strength she could to propel her legs forward.
She felt that she couldn't just leave him alone like that.
She believed that she could help him as she understood a part of his pain, especially the pain of losing one's family.
Even now, she desperately hoped that all of this was a nightmare and her family was still alive.
Damien came outside the building as he continued to walk slowly with an emotionless expression, not knowing how many he would have to kill before he starts feeling something in his heart.
All he now had was the undying thirst to take vengeance and end anyone that comes across him. He hated humans the most now since they were the ones who made him an outcast and killed his family.
But he wondered why he didn't kill Nathasia and instead let her go.
"W-Wait...don't go…"
Hearing the weak voice from behind, Damien frowned as he turned around to see Nathasia dragging herself to keep up with him.
He came forward and pressed his sword against her neck as he said coldly, "Stop following me...else I will make your head roll."
