Rise in the Martial Chaos: Starting From a Martial Arts School

Chapter 665 - 224: Xuanzhen’s Major Affair, One Vigorous Effort

  • Next Chapter

The next day, just as dawn was breaking.

Morning light pierced the thin mists of Lingxi Peak and spilled onto the stone paths of Qing No. 4 Courtyard. Yang Jing was already awake.

He filled a copper basin with cold spring water and splashed his face. The icy touch instantly chased away any lingering sleepiness, and his eyes grew sharp and clear.

After a quick wash, a servant disciple from the kitchens delivered breakfast on schedule: a large, steaming platter of Rare Exotic Beast Meat, accompanied by two refreshing side dishes and a savory meat cake.

The ingredients, while not luxurious, were rich in pure essence—perfect for a Martial Artist replenishing their energy in the morning.

Yang Jing devoured his meal in a few quick bites, set down his utensils, and immediately set off, hurrying toward the Training Room area on the mountainside.

The closer he got to the Peak of Qi Eating Realm, the more palpable the bottleneck to the Qi Absorption Realm became. Yang Jing’s sense of urgency and longing intensified.

He wished he could train nonstop, day and night, to shatter that barrier and truly join the ranks of the top disciples.

By the time he reached the Training Room area, the sky was just turning a pale white, and a dim, yellow light already glowed from the wooden cabin of the Affairs Department.

Yang Jing walked straight inside, pulled the Sect Token from his robes, and flashed it before Zhang Jian. "Junior Brother Zhang, I’d like to rent Training Room B-3 for the day."

Zhang Jian hurriedly accepted the Token and swiped it over a special jade slate. After deducting one thousand contribution points, he returned the Token to Yang Jing with a respectful smile. "Senior Brother Yang, Training Room B-3 is already reserved for you. You can head right over."

Zhang Jian had once received pointers on his martial arts from Yang Jing during a discourse on Lingxi Peak. He had benefited immensely and had held Yang Jing in high esteem ever since.

He knew that Yang Jing favored Training Room B-3 for his cultivation; it was the most secluded, and the concentration of Exotic Beast Musk was just right.

For this reason, he always set the room aside for him in advance, saving Yang Jing the trouble of having to wait.

Yang Jing accepted the Token and gave Zhang Jian a nod of thanks. He turned, walked out of the small room of the Affairs Department, and was about to head for Training Room B-3.

Just then, a flicker of movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. It was the most prominent Grade-A Training Room in the area; its heavy stone door was slowly swinging inward with a low CREAK, a stark contrast to the surrounding quiet.

The next moment, a tall, elegant figure emerged from the Grade-A Training Room. It was none other than the Senior Sister of Lingxi Peak, Si Jiawen.

She was dressed in moon-white martial attire, her long hair tied back casually, revealing a smooth forehead and a graceful neck.

Perhaps from having just finished a long session of cultivation, she stretched lazily. As her arms extended, the graceful curves of her figure were on full display. Her waist was slim and her posture erect, like a slender stalk of bamboo in early spring, creating a breathtaking silhouette against the morning glow.

A few other disciples who had arrived early for training couldn’t help but stare, dumbfounded. Their eyes were fixed on Si Jiawen, and they stood rooted to the spot.

But a moment later, they all snapped back to their senses, quickly lowering their heads and averting their gazes, not daring to sneak another look.

Si Jiawen was not only the Senior Sister of Lingxi Peak but also the fourth-ranked expert on the Profound Truth List. Her strength was unfathomable, and while her temperament wasn’t violent, she was incredibly imposing.

If she detected the slightest hint of disrespect, the consequences would be dire. No one was willing to risk their future over it.

Just then, Si Jiawen noticed Yang Jing standing nearby. She paused, a flicker of surprise in her eyes, and then began walking toward him.

Her gait was both light and steady, each step falling with the unique rhythm characteristic of a Martial Artist.

Yang Jing’s and Si Jiawen’s eyes met, and he quickly stepped forward to greet her.

As she drew near, he bowed slightly in a respectful salute. "Senior Sister."

Yang Jing observed her condition. Her expression was calm, showing no signs of fatigue. Instead, she had a healthy, rosy complexion, a sign of abundant qi and blood. ’The Senior Sister must have been in the Grade-A Training Room all night,’ he guessed. ’She might have even slept in there.’

’But even just sleeping in a Grade-A Training Room would be beneficial. The Exotic Beast Musk Aroma in there is so dense it’s almost tangible, constantly nourishing one’s meridians and nurturing their Inner Qi. This is the advantage that comes with top-tier resources.’

Si Jiawen stopped, her eyes settling on Yang Jing. She asked in a placid tone, "Are you here to train?"

"Yes, Senior Sister," Yang Jing replied with a respectful nod, his posture remaining deferential.

Si Jiawen paused, as if choosing her words carefully, before speaking slowly. "If I could, I would lend you the Grade-A Training Room for a few days."

The words had barely left her mouth when she shook her head slightly and added, "But as you know, the sect has its rules. Exclusive privileges granted by the sect, such as a Grade-A Training Room, cannot be privately transferred. To do so would be a violation of sect regulations, and I cannot make an exception."

Hearing this, Yang Jing was touched. He quickly bowed again, his tone sincere. "Thank you for the kind offer, Senior Sister. I appreciate the sentiment. The training efficiency in a Grade-B Training Room is already excellent. It is more than enough for my needs, and I wouldn’t dare ask for more."

He knew Si Jiawen was genuinely looking out for him, and he was grateful for the gesture.

Si Jiawen nodded lightly, a hint of approval in her eyes. "Good. Keep up the hard work. Try to break through to the Qi Absorption Realm soon."

She paused, her tone carrying the weight of experience. "Until you enter the Qi Absorption Realm, you’ll always be seen as just a junior in need of protection in the eyes of the sect’s upper echelons. It’s difficult to have any real say, or even the power to protect yourself."
