Chapter 343 - 325: Unlucky Wolz
Chapter 343: Chapter 325: Unlucky Wolz
Seeing their movements, the corners of Fang Chenyi’s mouth turned up slightly. ’Looks like I guessed right.’
However, the fact that they were only carrying machetes was something Fang Chenyi didn’t quite understand. Logically speaking, it was impossible for them not to be equipped with firearms.
Never mind a super-cruise ship like this; even an ordinary cargo vessel would have a few guns for self-protection.
At his side, Qi Xiaotian and Liu Yishou saw the men draw their weapons and quickly moved to shield Fang Chenyi behind them.
Across from them, David Rogers couldn’t help but grin at the sight:
"Heh heh heh, you two look pretty loyal. But don’t worry, all three of you will be feeding the sharks today."
Without another word, he waved to the five burly men behind him. Then, he walked straight over to a nearby sofa and sat down with a smile, not forgetting to grab the bottle of red wine and pour himself a glass.
’This feeling is pretty damn good. Drinking red wine while I watch my own boss get taken out... and then this whole super-cruise ship will be mine.’
David Rogers could barely contain his excitement. He wanted to savor the show, to see with his own eyes how this boss of his was about to die a stupid death.
PFFT! PFFT! PFFT! PFFT! PFFT!
THUD, THUD, THUD...
Just as David Rogers lowered his head, gleefully pouring himself a glass of wine, a series of muffled shots rang out.
He froze instantly. He knew that sound all too well—it was a pistol equipped with a silencer!
For a second, he felt a flash of annoyance. ’That bastard Wolz... didn’t he see I sent them in with machetes? Why is he shooting now? Can’t he tell I’m trying to watch a bloody show?’
Speaking of which, it’s worth mentioning that David Rogers had a hobby: he loved to watch underground fights.
He’d go whenever he got the chance. The sight of two opponents in the ring, beating each other bloody, always sent a thrill of excitement through him. This was precisely why he had ordered his men to use machetes, even when guns were an option.
And wasn’t he worried about making a mess in the office? Of course not.
After all, this was just the captain’s cabin, not the boss’s personal office. Once he dealt with these three, the entire luxurious, top-floor owner’s suite would be his!
Of course, in David Rogers’s mind, that bastard Wolz had to be the one who fired. ’There’s no way the other side has guns,’ he reasoned. Security for boarding was incredibly strict, precisely because the passengers were all super-rich. If someone actually managed to bring a gun on board and kill one of those tycoons, it would mean a world of trouble for him and his crew.
This was why, despite the gunshots, he felt more annoyance than worry. He calmly filled his glass to the brim with red wine, set the bottle down, and slowly raised his eyes.
But the moment his eyelids lifted, a horrifying scene met his eyes—one completely different from what he had pictured. In his mind’s eye, the three Huaxia People should have been lying in pools of their own blood. Instead, what he saw with shocking clarity were his own five machete-wielding henchmen, all collapsed on the floor. Each man had a bloody hole squarely between his eyebrows.
"Oh, fuck!"
The scene before him sent a tremor through David Rogers’s heart. The next thing he knew, the full glass of red wine, which he hadn’t even had a chance to sip, had spilled all over his pants.
But the man had been through his share of storms, and he recovered quickly. His gaze fixed on the smiling young Huaxia man in the office chair and the two men standing before him, each holding a pistol aimed his way. David’s mind spun.
Clearly, the silver pistols in their hands weren’t from the ship’s own armory. He couldn’t fathom how these men had managed to bring guns on board, but this obviously wasn’t the time to ponder that. He needed a plan.
’An idea quickly formed. Wolz is behind me, and he has a gun. I’ve got one too, hidden on me. If I can just dive behind this sofa and draw my pistol, we can fight back. Between me and Wolz, we’d at least have a fighting chance.’
Meanwhile, Wolz, standing behind him, was completely stunned. He stared at the five fallen subordinates a short distance away, his heart hammering in his chest. ’Should I run? Or draw my gun and fight back?’ he wondered.
At that moment, David Rogers, still on the sofa, looked at Fang Chenyi and slowly raised his trembling hands.
However, when Wolz saw the fingers on his boss’s raised hands twitch slightly, he immediately tensed, understanding his boss’s signal.
Across from them, Fang Chenyi watched David Rogers raise his hands, a smirk playing on his lips. ’Decided to surrender now, have you? A little late for that.’
Qi Xiaotian, standing in front of him, saw the gesture and frowned slightly. ’Something’s not right,’ he thought. He immediately shifted his position again, completely blocking Fang Chenyi with his own body.
Fang Chenyi, of course, saw Qi Xiaotian’s movement. He paused, startled for a second. In that instant, his mind cleared, and the triumphant smile vanished from his face. His hand, hidden by the desk, subconsciously drew his own pistol.
