Chapter 341 - 324: Walking Right Into a Trap?
Chapter 341: Chapter 324: Walking Right Into a Trap?
Seeing Qi Xiaotian barely suppressing a grin, Fang Chenyi felt incredibly frustrated. Despite his thick skin, he couldn’t stop himself from blushing.
He’d thought the oversized pistol came with an oversized suppressor. Turns out it was for a rifle.
With a light cough to cover his embarrassment, Fang Chenyi pointed at the pile of bullets on the coffee table and had them sort them out.
Qi Xiaotian and the other man worked with lightning speed, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, pressing rounds into the magazines one by one while explaining to Fang Chenyi which ammunition type went with each gun.
After listening to the explanation, Fang Chenyi ejected the magazine from the Desert Eagle in his hand. He picked up the bullets Qi Xiaotian had separated and began learning how to load them.
A few minutes later, Fang Chenyi felt the satisfying weight of the reloaded Desert Eagle in his hand. He clicked his tongue. He had to admit, with his enhanced strength, the heft felt surprisingly comfortable.
"Brother Fang, you’re amazing. Now that we have weapons, I can finally relax."
With a sharp CLICK, Qi Xiaotian slammed the magazine home, chambered a round, and with a flourish of his hand, the silver Beretta vanished from Fang Chenyi’s sight.
Fang Chenyi stared, momentarily stunned by the guy’s trick.
"Holy shit, not bad, kid! Where’d you hide it?"
Flattered by Brother Fang’s praise, Qi Xiaotian broke into a sly grin. With a flick of his wrist, the gun reappeared in his hand.
"Heh, that’s a secret."
Pfft.
Fang Chenyi curled his lip at Qi Xiaotian’s smug expression.
"Pfft, you call that little parlor trick a secret? I got all this gear past security without breaking a sweat. Now *that’s* a secret. Hah, I was even thinking of teaching you my method, but I guess I’ll just forget about it now."
As soon as the words were out, Qi Xiaotian’s bravado vanished. His face immediately morphed into an eager, fawning smile.
"Heh heh, don’t be like that, Brother Fang! It was hard enough for me to just bring a small knife on board. I never imagined you’d get all this stuff through! Please, teach me! Show me how you did it. Once I learn, I can carry one of these to protect you, right?"
Seeing Qi Xiaotian’s earnest expression, Fang Chenyi grinned slyly. "Heh, so you want to learn, do you?"
Qi Xiaotian nodded vigorously, mumbling about how badly he wanted to learn. But to his surprise, Fang Chenyi just beamed and uttered a single word: "Secret."
Qi Xiaotian’s face fell instantly. But he wasn’t discouraged, and he shamelessly tried again.
"Heh heh, come on, Brother Fang, I was just kidding with you earlier! Uh, here, watch. I’ll show you how I made the gun disappear."
As he spoke, Qi Xiaotian prepared to reveal his trick to Fang Chenyi, but Fang Chenyi just laughed and waved him off.
"Haha, forget it. I don’t need to learn your ’ultimate technique.’ I was just kidding, too. The truth is, aside from the Beretta which I did bring, the rest of these were left on the cruise ship by the previous owner. He told me where to find them."
Of course, Fang Chenyi wasn’t about to reveal the secret of his woven bag, so he just pinned it on the previous owner.
Hearing this, Qi Xiaotian and Liu Yishou were both a little disappointed and a little relieved. Although Brother Fang’s skills were far beyond theirs, even he couldn’t possibly have smuggled so many items through such heavy security.
Even their former instructor, at best, could only sneak a small-caliber pistol on board without anyone knowing.
"Haha, all right, I was just messing with you. But seriously, I have a feeling something’s going to happen tonight. Put yourselves in his shoes: if you were David Rogers, would you just obediently hand over ten million US Dollars?"
The two of them had already had a bad feeling. Now, hearing Fang Chenyi’s question, they both shook their heads.
"If I were David Rogers," Qi Xiaotian said, "I’d probably choose to solve the problem once and for all. After all, there are only three of us, and we’re out on the high seas."
At this, Qi Xiaotian paused for a moment before asking Fang Chenyi,
"Brother Fang, should I make the call now? Have those three hundred men rush over tonight?"
But Fang Chenyi shook his head.
"I considered that, but there’s not enough time. It would take at least six hours to get here from the coast. By then, it’ll be morning. We might as well wait until the cruise ship returns to shore."
Qi Xiaotian nodded in agreement. Fang Chenyi was right; there wasn’t enough time. If he were David Rogers, he would definitely strike under the cover of darkness. Why risk complications by dragging things out?
At this thought, Liu Yishou, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly spoke up.
"Brother Fang, what if the two of us go grab that David Rogers right now?"
The moment he said it, Qi Xiaotian slapped his thigh and chimed in eagerly.
"Yes, exactly! The two of us can go grab that guy right now. That way, with him as a hostage, who would dare to make a move?"
Fang Chenyi had to admit, he was actually tempted by Liu Yishou’s proposal. Especially since Rogers already knew who he was, keeping him close by wouldn’t seem entirely out of place, and it wouldn’t disrupt the cruise ship’s operations.
