Chapter 296 - 295: Taking You as My Last Disciple

Chapter 296: Chapter 295: Taking You as My Last Disciple

With Fang Chenyi’s approval, Professor Wu called Xiaoliu back and told him the number of his private room.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door.

A man and a woman walked in.

The man was in his fifties, with a slender build and a strikingly large bald head.

When Fang Chenyi saw the two who had entered, he couldn’t help but smile wryly.

The arrivals were none other than Dean Liu and Teacher Meng, whom he had just met that morning.

In fact, he had already guessed their identities the moment he heard Professor Wu address the man as Xiaoliu. After all, when leaving Teacher Meng’s office, he had overheard Dean Liu mention taking her to visit Elder Wu.

As soon as they entered, Dean Liu’s eyes locked onto Professor Wu. He immediately bowed slightly and hurried toward Professor Wu, who was getting up with a warm laugh. Dean Liu greeted him with the utmost reverence:

"Elder Wu, it’s such an honor! During the construction of the Bird’s Nest, I had the privilege of learning from the sidelines for a while. I benefited so much from that experience. In my heart, I’ve always considered you my teacher. Please, you must allow me the honor of treating you to dinner tonight."

Teacher Meng, however, was taken aback when her eyes fell on Bai Menghan at the table. ’She couldn’t understand why Xiaobai was here.’ But now was obviously not the time to ask. Seeing Bai Menghan smiling and waving at her, Teacher Meng smiled and nodded, then followed Dean Liu to greet Professor Wu.

Elder Wu chuckled and shook his hand. Then, still smiling, he turned his gaze to Fang Chenyi and said to Dean Liu:

"Haha, you’re too kind, Xiaoliu. Let’s do dinner another day. I’m on a tight schedule at the moment. Chairman Fang’s industrial park is urgently waiting on the design plans to begin construction. Haha, this old man has a heavy burden to bear!"

Following Professor Wu’s gaze, Dean Liu turned and saw Fang Chenyi’s smiling face. He froze. ’Isn’t this the young man who was talking about designing those ridiculous blueprints for a "super-commercial zone" this morning? How did he end up here? And it looks like Elder Wu is here just for him.’

’Wait, hold on! What did Elder Wu just say? Urgently waiting for the design plans to begin construction? What plans? Could it be... that same absurd design from this morning?’

Noticing Dean Liu’s gaze, Fang Chenyi smiled and nodded at him.

"Hello, Dean Liu. We meet again," he said with a smile. "Come, sit down and have a cup of tea."

At this point, Dean Liu’s mind was completely short-circuiting. ’What was happening? Professor Wu, Huaxia’s top architectural designer, had come in person? Could that ridiculous design proposal from this morning actually be real?’

’But how could that be possible...?’

Just then, Bai Menghan also stood up with a smile and called out a greeting.

"Teacher Meng, I didn’t realize you knew Professor Wu! Please, have a seat."

Seeing the situation, Professor Wu glanced at everyone. A smile touched his lips as he said with a chuckle:

"Haha, so it turns out everyone knows each other. Well, that makes sense. Chairman Fang is such a young and accomplished entrepreneur, how could Xiaoliu, being here in Qinhuang Island, not know him? Haha, it’s good that you’re acquainted. Come, Xiaoliu, you sit down as well. Since you’re a Qinhuang Island native, you can join us in discussing the plans."

Dean Liu didn’t know what to think. He wanted to protest that he didn’t know Fang Chenyi at all, but he knew it would be inappropriate to say so out loud.

So, he could only offer Fang Chenyi an awkward nod before finding an empty seat and sitting down.

"Professor Wu, if you’re finished eating, shall we move over to the lounge area for some tea and discuss the design?"

Seeing that everyone had finished their meal, Fang Chenyi gestured toward a lounge area to the side of the room. No one had any objections, so the group moved from the dining table to the lounge. After ordering a few pots of good tea from a waiter, Fang Chenyi and Professor Wu began to discuss several key points of the commercial zone’s plan.

As Fang Chenyi, who now possessed the Super Design Master skill, began discussing the design plan with Professor Wu, he left the professor utterly astonished. Fang Chenyi spoke with remarkable clarity and logic, especially when it came to highly specialized knowledge.

It made Professor Wu wonder if Fang Chenyi had majored in architecture in college. In fact, he felt as if he were discussing ideas with an international design master.

Meanwhile, Dean Liu and Teacher Meng were simply dumbfounded. The level of design expertise and professionalism Fang Chenyi displayed was far beyond their own; they didn’t even understand many of the concepts coming out of his mouth.

It wasn’t just the two of them. Wu Xin, who was also present, was so shocked his jaw dropped. ’How could this young man, who doesn’t look much older than me, possess such profound professional knowledge? He can even keep up with my grandfather’s line of thinking on design!’

After outlining the main requirements, Fang Chenyi suddenly remembered the "Super-Commercial Zone Design Plan" he had acquired. It was the perfect opportunity to let Professor Wu take a look at it for reference.

Once Professor Wu had finished speaking, Fang Chenyi suddenly said:

"Professor Wu, I actually did some simple designing myself in my spare time. The plans are on my plane right now. I’ll go get them for you to look at; maybe they can be of some help with your design."

Hearing this, Professor Wu chuckled wryly. After their discussion just now, he felt Fang Chenyi’s skill level was hardly any lower than his own. So he said with a wry smile:

"Xiaofang, I’m starting to feel my trip here was completely unnecessary, haha. Your design skills are hardly any worse than my own! Now I’m really looking forward to seeing your blueprints. How about this, Xiaofang? This old man is getting on in years, and I’m planning to take on one last disciple to pass my skills to. If you’re willing, I would teach you everything I know."

As soon as he said this, everyone present had a different reaction. Dean Liu’s face was a mixture of shock and envy. ’Professor Wu’s final disciple? What did that even mean? This was an honor countless people would fight tooth and nail for but could never hope to achieve!’

Fang Chenyi, however, felt a bit awkward. ’I can barely keep up with my scrap-collecting,’ he thought. ’Where would I find the time to study design with him?’

Professor Wu, with the wisdom of his years, saw the look on Fang Chenyi’s face and said with a knowing smile:

"Haha, we can talk about that later. For now, Xiaofang, go get your blueprints and let this old man have a look."

Fang Chenyi breathed a sigh of relief at his words. He excused himself and was about to get up, but Liu Yishou, who had been sitting quietly to the side, spoke up.

"Brother Fang, you just wait here. I’ll go get them for you."
