Chapter 476 - 475: Watching a Movie

A long while later, the waiter knocked again. After Lu Yunque said, "Come in," the waiter opened the door and entered.

The waiter was followed by several others, each carrying a dish.

The four of them placed their dishes on the table one by one. "Please enjoy your meal."

With that said, the four of them filed out of the private room.

As Yun Zijin looked at the dishes on the table, she quickly realized they were the exact same ones they had ordered during their blind date here.

However, Yun Zijin didn’t say anything. She wanted to see just what Lu Yunque was up to.

Lu Yunque, however, acted as if he hadn’t noticed a thing, simply taking care of Yun Zijin during the meal as he always did.

After dinner, it wasn’t even 7 p.m. yet. Lu Yunque took Yun Zijin by the hand, led her to the car, and they headed to the same movie theater they had gone to on their blind date.

Luxury cars weren’t an unusual sight in many parts of Dijing, but a car like a Rolls-Royce Phantom was still quite rare.

When the car pulled up in front of the movie theater, it drew a crowd of onlookers.

Lu Yunque was used to being the center of attention. After getting out, he habitually pulled Yun Zijin into his protective embrace.

The interested women, seeing Yun Zijin being protectively ushered out of the car by Lu Yunque, immediately halted in their tracks.

’It’s true what they say. All the good ones are already taken.’

"Our movie is starting soon. Let’s go pick up the tickets first."

Yun Zijin glanced at her watch; their movie was starting in less than twenty minutes.

"You take Zero One and some of the others to get the tickets. I’ll take a couple of them with me to buy some snacks."

Although Lu Yunque considered popcorn and soda to be junk food, the movie-going experience wasn’t complete without them. They were the heart and soul of it.

Yun Zijin nodded in agreement. "Okay, Zero Five and two others can go with you for snacks. We’ll meet at the theater entrance in a bit."

And so, they split up, each taking a few bodyguards. One group went to get the tickets, the other to buy snacks.

Lu Yunque’s handsome features and his entire demeanor screamed one thing—money.

And even if a handsome, wealthy man already had a girlfriend, there would always be someone willing to try and steal him away.

Lu Yunque had just stopped in front of the concession stand when a woman approached him.

"Hey handsome, you’re so hot! Can I add you on WeChat?"

The woman was wearing a little black spaghetti-strap top and a miniskirt.

There was nothing wrong with the outfit itself, but the woman carried a tawdry air about her. Lu Yunque instinctively took a step back, not even wanting to speak with her.

He turned to the employee at the concession stand. "Hello, I’ll have a couple tubs of popcorn, one chocolate milk tea, and one lemon green tea."

After ordering drinks for himself and Yun Zijin, Lu Yunque turned to Zero Five. "What do you guys want? I’ll get it all at once."

"Just water is fine."

As bodyguards, they weren’t supposed to eat on the job to avoid any risk of upset stomachs or food poisoning.

But given the atmosphere, it would have been awkward not to get anything, so in the end, they each just asked for a bottle of water.

The mineral water that sold for two or three yuan outside was five yuan here.

Lu Yunque, however, didn’t care about the cost. He told Zero Five and the other six bodyguards to grab a bottle each, then paid by scanning the code.

However, just as Lu Yunque was heading to the theater entrance with the snacks to wait for Yun Zijin, the woman who had asked for his WeChat blocked his path again.

"Handsome, you still haven’t answered me. Do you want to add me on WeChat or not?"

Lu Yunque’s expression was now utterly foul.

Fiercely protective of Yun Zijin’s claim on Lu Yunque, Zero Five and his two men stepped forward to block the woman’s path. "He is our lady’s boyfriend. Miss, please show some self-respect."

When Yun Zijin and Lu Yunque had walked in, they had drawn quite a bit of attention, so many people nearby already knew he had a girlfriend.

The first time this tawdry-looking woman had stopped Lu Yunque, someone next to her had even pointed it out.

Unfortunately, some people look glamorous on the outside but are completely rotten on the inside.

This was a classic case of being "fair on the outside, foul on the inside."

But the woman acted as if she hadn’t heard a thing, her gaze still fixed on Lu Yunque. "Handsome, if you eat nothing but plain appetizers, things get a little bland.

"Sometimes, a little something on the side can be a nice change of pace, you know?"

As she spoke, she even gave her silicone-enhanced chest a little jiggle.

Lu Yunque was so disgusted he nearly threw up. He had Zero Five and the other two men form a protective circle around him and practically ran toward the theater entrance.

When he finally saw Yun Zijin, Lu Yunque immediately pulled her into a bear hug. "Zijin, I was scared to death just now!"

He then proceeded to give her an exaggerated, blow-by-blow account of how he was nearly taken advantage of by a shameless hussy, making it sound like a dramatic saga.

Yun Zijin knew Lu Yunque was exaggerating, but she also knew something had definitely happened.

’Thinking about how someone had just tried to poach her man, Yun Zijin’s mood soured.’

"If you ever see her again, make sure you point her out to me."

’How dare she make a move on my man? She should have asked around and found out about Yun Zijin’s reputation in Dijing.’

"Alright! It’s time, let’s go in."

Lu Yunque took Yun Zijin’s hand, and the two of them walked toward the theater entrance.

The cinema had several screening halls. Yun Zijin, Lu Yunque, and their seven bodyguards quickly found the correct one.

A ticket-taker stood at the entrance. The nine of them filed past, entered the hall, and quickly found their seats.

The seats for Zero One and the other bodyguards were scattered, but a closer look revealed that they formed a protective perimeter around Yun Zijin and Lu Yunque.

The point was to have their own people in front, behind, and on both sides of them.

When Lu Yunque saw the seating arrangement, he shot Yun Zijin a grateful look. Especially after the harassment he’d just endured, he desperately needed a buffer between himself and everyone else.

When Yun Zijin had gone to get the tickets, Zero One and the others had created a similar buffer for her, so she hadn’t been accosted by any would-be admirers.

As for the other moviegoers kept at a distance by the bodyguards, some found it amusing, while others thought Lu Yunque and Yun Zijin were being pretentious.

’Everyone’s just here to watch a movie. Acting like this makes it seem like they think they’re better than us.’

But truth be told, Yun Zijin hadn’t given it a second thought when buying the tickets. Having Zero One and the others sit nearby simply made it easier for them to do their jobs.

’There was nothing pretentious about it at all.’

Neither Yun Zijin nor Lu Yunque paid any mind to the surrounding stares. Their eyes were fixed on the large screen, waiting for the movie to begin.

However, while Yun Zijin and Lu Yunque were able to use their bodyguards as a buffer, they hadn’t expected the bodyguards themselves to get hit on after sitting down. But Zero One and his men simply maintained their cold, stoic expressions and ignored the advances.

After receiving no response for a long time, the would-be suitors finally gave up and fell silent.
