Rich Parents Found Me After I Got a Tycoon System? Yeah, I'm Not Interested
Chapter 379 - 378: Director Gao Mi
After all, it was a thirty-million-yuan transfer. That was a large transaction, so the bank would naturally need to carefully verify everything before the funds arrived.
Hearing the funds would arrive within three days, Gao Mi was so excited he almost jumped to his feet and cheered.
In the end, however, his reason won out over his excitement.
"I brought the contract with me, Boss Yun. Please take a look. If you find any issues, just let me know, and I’ll revise it immediately!"
He had to lock down this investment today! Gao Mi’s eyes shone with a look of absolute determination.
"I’m going to take a photo and have my lawyer look it over. Is that all right?
And don’t worry, besides myself and my lawyer, no third party will see the contents of this contract."
Normally, the contents of a contract are confidential, so Yun Zijin mentioned it beforehand in case Gao Mi had any objections.
But even if he did object, Yun Zijin wouldn’t have cared. At worst, she’d just take the contract home, have it reviewed, and get in touch with him later.
"No problem at all!"
It was a perfectly reasonable request, so of course Gao Mi wouldn’t refuse.
If they didn’t sign the contract today, who knew when the next opportunity would arise.
Yun Zijin took photos of the contract Gao Mi had brought and sent them to Tang Yu.
Their previous collaborations had all been very pleasant, so Tang Yu was now Yun Zijin’s first choice for any legal matters.
Tang Yu’s reply came very quickly. He reviewed the contract, which was over a dozen pages long, and gave his feedback in just ten minutes.
He had marked every problematic clause and any area where the responsibilities of either party were unclear, and he also provided suggestions for revisions.
Yun Zijin replied to Tang Yu with a quick "Got it," then went over the issues he’d flagged with Gao Mi one by one.
Basically, every point had to be changed according to Tang Yu’s suggestions. Otherwise, Yun Zijin wouldn’t be able to sign the contract.
Otherwise, if a problem arose down the line and Gao Mi used the contract to stab her in the back, things would get very ugly.
Gao Mi was stunned. Yun Zijin had only mentioned sending a photo to her lawyer, yet she’d managed to find so many loopholes and problematic clauses.
And this was a contract he had hired a professional lawyer to draft.
At that thought, Gao Mi mentally added the lawyer he’d hired to his blacklist.
"My apologies, Boss Yun. I had a lawyer draft this contract, so I didn’t expect there to be so many issues. I’ll correct the parts you’ve flagged right now. Just give me a moment."
Gao Mi immediately took a laptop from his briefcase, opened the contract document, and began meticulously revising it, comparing his version with the images Yun Zijin had sent, all marked up by Tang Yu.
"Director Gao, that lawyer you hired doesn’t seem very professional. Would you like me to recommend one? My lawyer is an absolute professional!"
’Of course he is,’ she thought. ’The man is practically undefeated in Dijing, let alone the entire country. How could he not be a professional?’
"Boss Yun’s lawyer... must be very expensive, right?"
She was talking about a thirty-million-yuan investment. Gao Mi highly doubted the lawyer she hired was some small-time nobody.
"It’s fine. Not that expensive."
’Just the kind where they bill by the hour, and even one second over counts as a full hour,’ she mused.
"If I may be so bold, which lawyer was it that marked up the contract for you?"
Gao Mi might not have much money, but as someone in the entertainment industry, he’d seen a thing or two.
"Tang Yu. You’ve probably heard of him."
Tang Yu’s reputation wasn’t just confined to the legal world; he was a big name in other circles as well.
"So it was Lawyer Tang... I really can’t afford him right now."
If his show became a hit, maybe he could afford him. But right now? Absolutely not.
"Don’t worry about it. Just focus on revising the contract for now."
Yun Zijin didn’t dwell on the topic of lawyers for long.
Gao Mi nodded. Without another word, he focused on comparing his document with Tang Yu’s notes and began meticulously revising the contract.
Chen Chuan, who was sitting nearby, was quite impressed as he watched their exchange.
’Is this how contract negotiations are supposed to go? Shouldn’t there be a back-and-forth, with both sides haggling over every single condition until the very last minute before finally agreeing to sign?’
’Something about this scene feels... off.’
"Senior Sister Yun, I didn’t expect to run into you here."
Hearing the vaguely familiar voice, Yun Zijin instinctively turned her head. The moment she saw it was Feng Chenchen, her expression soured.
"Most people at school know that Tongtong and I own this milk tea shop. Is it really that strange to run into me here?"
Yun Zijin glanced at the Wangyou Milk Tea in the other girl’s hand, not wanting to waste her breath on her.
"Oh! Is that right? I’m new to the school, so I didn’t know."
"But... I heard that before, Senior Sister Yun, you were always either on your way to class or on your way to a part-time job. The rent here must be..."
"Oh, all the storefronts on this street are under my name, so I don’t pay rent. Any other questions?"
Yun Zijin finished, looking at Feng Chenchen with a smirk.
’Trying to call me a poor wretch who needs part-time jobs just to cover living expenses?’
It was true a few months ago, but now she was a famous landlady in Dijing. Whether she had money or not was up to the system.
Feng Chenchen hadn’t expected such a reaction. She truly never imagined that Yun Zijin was the landlord for every single shop on the entire street.
Meanwhile, Gao Mi and Chen Chuan were dumbfounded by Yun Zijin’s words.
’So... they were negotiating a deal with the master landlord of this entire street?’
’If that was the case, then thirty million yuan probably wasn’t a huge sum of money to Yun Zijin at all.’
"S-So that’s how it is... It seems I must have misheard. Senior Sister Yun, I didn’t mean anything by it, please don’t be mad at me."
As she spoke, the rims of Feng Chenchen’s eyes began to redden, but the tears welling up within them just wouldn’t fall.
"You didn’t mishear. Before summer break this year, I was indeed always either on my way to class or to a part-time job."
Yun Zijin maintained a faint smile the entire time. She showed no sense of shame or inferiority as she spoke about her past working part-time.
Even without the "Randomly Spend" system, Yun Zijin wouldn’t have felt any shame.
She earned that money with her own two hands. It wasn’t some dirty money that couldn’t see the light of day, so what was there to be ashamed of?
Some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouths, but how many of those people are still mooching off their parents in middle age?
It just comes down to being born into the right family, and that’s not something she could choose.
Feng Chenchen’s mouth fell open. She was even more shocked that Yun Zijin could speak so candidly about having worked part-time jobs.
"Senior Sister Yun, you must be joking. Someone as rich as you, how could you possibly need to work a part-time job...?"
’It’s unthinkable.’
"Can’t I do it to experience life? Besides, you and I aren’t close. In the future, you don’t need to come over and greet me. As I’ve said before, I really don’t like you."
Yun Zijin’s words were completely devoid of any subtlety.
’With some people, if you’re subtle, it just goes over their heads. You have to be blunt.’
"Senior Sister Yun, did I do something wrong to cause a misunderstanding? I really do want to be friends with you..."
Feng Chenchen’s eyes reddened again, and as she spoke, she looked as if Yun Zijin had truly done her a great injustice.
