Chapter 5
Heavy rain poured down on the cities of Britain as cloudy skies loomed over them. The storm was getting worst by the hour.
The roads, and streets were filled with puddles of water and mud.
*Step* *Step*
Through these puddles marched groups of people wearing night blue uniforms with blue caps on their heads.
Their ears were pointed and their eyes glowed a crimson red in the dark as they walked. They all had swords and other kinds of weapons on their frames as they marched.
On their hands were leashes attached to other people. These ones wore torn clothes and acted much more like animals. They were ghouls.
“Five minutes until the signal but I can’t wait any longer… The scent of all those people… The sound of their heart beating… It’s so alluring~.” Muttered a short antique pink haired vampire with silver earrings.
He stood just outside a school gymnasium which was right ahead of the school entrance. There was a concentrated number of people here so it was his first target.
He was just one of the many vampires raiding the city. These raids weren’t just happening in this one spot, they were happening all throughout the city.
They had all been given a single command.
“Spread chaos upon the signal… Feast till your hearts content…”
*BANG!*
He kicked open the gym door, sending it flying across the inside of the Gym.
As he walked inside, he commanded the countless ghouls behind him and other Vampires to block out the exit.
With that being said, he made his entrance and upon doing so, he was greeted with complete and utter silence along with the stares of all the students, teachers and even the principal.
He relished these stares, taking in a deep breath before grinning with his fangs.
“Hm~ Looks like schools are really the way to go~”
With a flick of his wrist, the vampire’s sword soared through the air, impaling the principal right through the middle of his head.
After being knocked away and his sword stuck inside his head, he came to a halt a few meters away, right between the legs of a student.
The student beside her let out a blood-curdling scream and then came the panic.
One by one, students began to fall to fall and trip over one another as they rushed to the exit.
Seeing the students run and attempt to escape while knowing that it was futile gave him a sense of pride and joy unlike any other…
‘Ah… Nothing beats a good old-fashioned hunt…’ He thought to himself.
*Whistle~!*
The vampire whistled loudly, grabbing the attention of some of the students again.
“Kill them all… Ah- But leave the girls alive, we need food~”
The instant he said that, ghouls came crashing into the room from the exit where everyone was gathered.
“AAAAAH!!!”
“HELPP!!!!”
“SOMEONE HE-”
They rip and tore everything that stood in their paths, not sparing any human in sight. Their bottomless hunger was progressively leading to the formation of a blood bath.
The students who were fortunate enough to have chosen the other exit on the opposite side were given more time, but their fates were still set in stone as being in a group would have gotten them targeted outside.
The pink haired vampire took in a deep breath with a wide grin on his face.
“Ah~ Thank god there’s going to be a war… If it wasn’t for this, I’d never have been able to-”
The Vampire’s sentence was cut off by him suddenly tilting his head to the side.
“Hm?” He let out in a confused tone.
Just ahead of him was but a single, short, black haired young man. He was standing in front of the principle’s corpse and holding onto the handle of his [Vampire’s Blade.]

‘Hm????’
The Vampire was even more visibly confused than before, but the closer Xavier got, the wider his grin became.
‘He took my sword and he’s approaching me with it? Did he go crazy after witnessing all the deaths?’
‘His hair is covering his eyes… I can’t tell what sort of expression he’s making… But this sure looks exciting.’
The Vampire watched as Xavier came to a stop right before him. Xavier gripped down tightly onto the Sword, and didn’t seem to make any moves at first.
The Vampire who towered over him, looked down at him excitedly whilst waiting for him to make a move.
Vampires were countless times faster than regular humans, he was slowly counting the number of times he could have Killed Xavier in his head. Doing so was fun for him.
“I must say, I’m impressed. Out of all your friends, you were the only one who came-”
*Swoosh*
The Vampire was interrupted as the edge of a blade was suddenly thrusted at his chin from below.
He leaned back, easily avoiding it before countering with a thrust of his own at Xavier’s head.
The gap in speed was laughable, The Vampire was so fast his hand seemed to blur out.
Yet despite that-
*Fwoosh*
Xavier ducked, avoiding the thrust aimed at his head from the sides whilst also stepping in.
*Slash*
The Vampire’s left arm was severed off it’s shoulder in that very same instant, as Xavier slashed at it with a vertical swing.
“…?”
*WHAM!*
Whilst still confused, The Vampire kicked at Xavier in the stomach, sending him sliding down the hall.
The Vampire was even more surprised than earlier to find that Xavier’s guard was up. He had blocked the kick.
Xavier’s arms were trembling from the sheer intensity of the kick, but he didn’t let go of his sword.
‘I kicked at him with the intention to break his ribs but he blocked…? He reacted from that close of a range?’
‘And even more than that… He cut off my arm…?’ The Vampire wondered as he looked down in search of it to reattach it.
To his surprise his arm which had been chopped off, was no longer resting over the pool of blood beneath him. It was gone.
His eyes widened after he looked over in Xavier’s direction.
His severed arm was right beneath Xavier’s feet. He had dragged it along with him after the kick.
‘Don’t tell me… He intentionally took the kick to take my arm away from me?’
“I… Underestimated you because you were human… Based on what I can see, you’re no regular hu-”
A shadow remained loomed over Xavier’s face as he began stepping on the Vampire’s severed arm to provoke him. He didn’t want to hear his bullshit any longer.
A vein bulged out of the side of the Vampire’s neck in that instant.
“Haha… Hahahahaha! You think taking one arm away from me is going to do anything!?”
The Vampire burst into laughter for the next few seconds before glaring at Xavier.
*Fawoosh!*
“I’ll kill you.” The Vampire declared with cold eyes.
The Vampire suddenly appeared before him, thrusting his one arm at his head.
Xavier dodged to the right, only to end up dodging to the left as another thrust came right after.
A barrage of thrusts aimed at not only his head but also his arms and heart was directed at Xavier by the Vampire in rage.
Yet Xavier was effortlessly dodging all of them without moving a step. His eyes were going all over the place, left and right even though the Vampire was moving so fast his arm seemed to blur.
*SWOOSH!*
The Vampire kicked at Xavier from the sides, sending him sliding to the right with his feet still planted onto the arm, before appearing above him with an Axe kick heading down at his head.
Attempting to block that kick would have definitely broken every single bone in his arm, so Xavier did the unthinkable.
Xavier let go of the arm, temporarily rotating his entire body with the side step.
The Vampire saw this as an opening and stepped in, thrusting his single arm at Xavier’s heart. The moment Xavier took another step to dodge, the Vampire grinned.
It was a fake – He only wanted to get Xavier further away from his arm in order to grab it and that’s exactly what he did.
‘I got It-‘
*Slash!*
The Vampire’s thought was interrupted as his remaining hand which had reached out for his arm was cut off.
“!!!”
‘He saw through that too!? How!!?’
Xavier’s retreat step was also a fake, he knew the Vampire would go for his arm and already had a sword swing in motion for it.
Whilst keeping the momentum going, Xavier pressed down on the slippery, bloodied floor, quickly changing his vertical swing into a horizontal one aimed right at the Vampire’s neck.
The Vampire who was almost frozen in surprise watched as the sword made it’s way towards his neck.
Death. It was then and there that he saw the reflection of his own death in the blade.
Disbelief, confusion, fear. All sorts of emotions built up from within the Vampire as the sword was just about pricking his neck. He was going to die.
Or at least that’s what he thought-
*CLANG!*
Xavier’s swing stopped half way, as two other Vampire’s wearing the dark blue uniform with the caps over their head, appeared right before him. One had Pearl beige while the other had Mahogany brown coloured hair
One Vampire had his hand on the blade stopping his swing, while the other had his own sword out, with the blade parried to Xavier’s swing.
Their eyes both held a crimson light as they glared at Xavier.
“Oi… What the hell do you think you’re doing?” The pink haired Vampire muttered.
“Rest assured, we’ll assist you.”
