Xavier raised his brows at the quest screen which appeared before him as his head rested on Sangrea’s lap.

Xavier’s eyes scrolled through his status screen. Just as he had expected, his level ups were all rewinded. Even gluttony was back to level one.
‘My race too… It’s back to a Vampire just as I’d expected.’
‘Problem is… How the hell am I supposed to level up Rewind?’
‘If I think back on how Gluttony levelled up… It said something about conditions being met…’
[Affirmative. In order to level up a skill, the condition for said skill to be levelled up must be met.]
[These conditions depend on the skill, some skills require mastery or continuous use of the skill.]
[Other skills require certain achievements to be made.]
‘Mastery of rewind… I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve rewinded so far… But it was definitely higher than the number of times I’ve used gluttony’s devour.’
Xavier didn’t understand how he hadn’t gotten any signs of rewind levelling up despite his many deaths and returns.
After a short thought, his eyes widened as he came to a conclusion.
‘Every time I rewind, all progress that I’ve made is undone… Does that also apply to rewind?’ Xavier asked.
[Affirmative.]
‘Then… I can’t level up rewind by simply rewinding over and over again?’
[Affirmative.]
Xavier face palmed himself, startling Sangrea who was close to dozing off again.
‘So then how am I supposed to level it up!?’
[For a unique skill such as rewind, the user may use an alternative method such as a to level it up. For example, a level up orb, or if compatible, a skill orb.]
‘What are those?’
[Level up orbs: Consumable orbs which can increase the level of any of the user’s desired skill by 1]
[Skill orbs: Consumable orbs which contain skills and abilities which may or may not be compatible with the user.]
Xavier was speechless, there was still so much he didn’t know.
‘Where can I get these orbs?’ He asked.
[There are limited ways of obtaining these. The user currently only has one method available:]
[The Shop.]
Xavier’s eyes lit up. The one feature he had yet to expand on in regards to the system. The system’s shop.
*BOOM!*
The sound of an explosion occurring in the far distance outside of the café drew Xavier’s attention, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Xavier looked over at Sangrea who was woken up by it, only to be greeted by her smile.
“Are you finally done thinking?” She asked with a smile.
Xavier’s eyes were locked onto her smooth pink lips as she spoke, he didn’t know why but he was more conscious of her this time around.
She appeared a lot more attractive than before, so much that his hunger and thirst came crashing in as he glanced at her neck.
“Yeah… I’m done.” He muttered as he got up and leaned towards it.
With his hand, he grabbed her chin, slowly turning her head before opening his mouth with his fangs out on display.
‘So far, her blood was the tastiest I’ve ever had.’ He thought to himself as he bit into her neck.
*Pierce*
Upon penetrating her neck with his fangs, a quiet moan escaped her lips.
“Mn~”
*Gulp* *Gulp* *Gulp*

[You have finished consuming the blood of a Vampire.]
[Log]
[+3 Stat added to Strength.]
[+2 Stat added to Agility.]
[+1 Stat added to Sense.]
[Small amount of blood proportion consumed.]
“So… What are we doing now?” Sangrea asked with a sluggish look as they walked out of the café.
Xavier was fully energised as he walked out beside her.
‘That’s the same thing she said before… Looks like I’m retracing my steps properly but more importantly…’
‘I only drank a bit of her blood yet the number of stats I got were higher than the amounts I got from consuming entire blood orbs before I rewinded.’
[Amount received from absorption depends on how powerful a Vampire is, if a Vampire is powerful then even a small amount of blood can yield higher number of stats.]
‘I guess that means she’s powerful…’ Xavier thought to himself. ‘I wonder if she’s stronger than a Vampire noble…’
Xavier slowly looked over to her and she looked back at him, the two made eye contact for a few seconds.
‘Last time I told her to go and search on her own… But I’ve found a lead now… Should I bring her with me?’ Xavier wondered.
“Wh-What… Is there something on my face?” She asked nervously with a blush.
Xavier’s piercing eyes were too much for her to handle.
‘Maybe I’ll bring her… Just to see how strong she really is.’
“Nope, there’s nothing. We’re going on the underground railway. I have a clue on where my family might be.”
Her face lit up from his words.
“Really!? Let’s go then!”
Xavier stopped her as she began her walk towards the closest underground station which was right down the road.
“There’s something we have to get first.” Said Xavier as thunder struck somewhere in the city from the clouds.
“Something?” She repeated with a confused look.
Xavier nodded before pointing at the nearest corner store on the other side of the road. It was broken into and seemingly empty with a few ghoul corpses around.
“Yeah… I need buy a few things to set up a few traps… Also need something which can block out sounds.”
The Vampire Noble named Zaos who could manipulate sound was on Xavier’s mind, he beat him last time because he became a ghoul but almost ended up dying in the process.
Xavier’s attempt this time was to capture Zaos alive and get as much information as he could out of him. That was his main objective.
“And no matter what happens, make sure to do exactly as I tell you.” Xavier reassured her with an scheming grin.
Sangrea was confused by Xavier’s statement, but she nodded with faith. If her husband told her not to worry, then you better bet she wasn’t going to worry.

“Young master Zaos, I’ve received a report from the nearest Vampire Camp, we are to bring more hostages.” A short ivory haired twin stated.
The short spiky purple haired Vampire noble beside her sighed before getting up from his seat made of human corpses.
“I’ve been getting a bad feeling today…”
“Whatever, let’s go.” He responded.

‘Now that everything has been set into motion… System, open the shop.’ Xavier thought to himself.
[System Shop is now opening!]
Whilst walking down the underground stations tunnel with a backpack full of gear, Xavier stared at the screen which manifested before him. Glaring at the options.
[… Shop is open.
Select your choice…
1. Consumables
2. Items
3. Masteries..
4. Weapons
…]
A grin grew on his face, as he thought of all the ways to make use of this feature.
