94 Chapter 94: Tears Of Responsibility.
*Crackle* *Crumble*
The sound of their feet pressing down on the shards of glass within the room forced them to snap their eyes open.
Looking around, they both let out a sigh.
They’d made it back into the room they were originally in.
“Looks like he really let us out.” Said Sangrea as she glared in the direction of the mirror.
*Step* *Step* *Step*
With cold eyes, Xavier slowly walked over to the mirror in the corner of the room before stopping and staring at it.
“He’s probably watching us from there.”
Xavier stretched his arm out in the mirror’s direction before thrusting his palm at it.
*Shatter!*
The moment his hand made contact, the mirror shattered into countless pieces.
Sangrea shed a tear as based on the mirror’s design, it was quite high quality. That being said, if Xavier hadn’t done it, she would have done it herself.
“What now?” She asked as she glanced out the hallway.
Xavier crouched down by one of the mirror shards before picking it up and staring at his reflection. He was admiring his hair which had gone fully silver.
Xavier then glanced over in Sangrea’s direction. There was a lot they had to do. For starters, repairing the house. He also had to make sure he consumed the [Giant blood orb] outside before the timer ran out.
In addition, he needed to go check up on his family and explain the whole situation to them.
*Sigh*
“We’ve got a lot to do… What a pain…”
Hearing this, Sangrea’s ears twitched as she came up with an idea.
She quickly approached Xavier before stopping ahead of him with a mischievous smile.
“Then, why not continue where we left off?” She asked whilst blushing.
*Thump*
Xavier’s heart almost skipped a beat at the question.
He stared into her bright red eyes, contemplating on whether or not to accept. Deep down he wanted badly to say yes, but right now they had far more important things to take care of.
“Stop being lazy.” Said Xavier as he chopped at her forehead with his hand.
“Owie-!” She winced.
“Let’s sort everything out first…”
Hearing his words, the pained expression on her face faded into a bright smile as she asked. “And then after-“
“We’ll continue from where we left off.” He responded before walking out of the room.
Sangrea’s eyes sparkled for a second as she jumped up in joy. The joyful expression then quickly shifted into an embarrassed one as she realised that this time he wasn’t joking around.
Her eyes slowly drifted downwards before coming to a stop on her plump chests. A grin then grew on her face as she giggled. “Fufu… I knew he wouldn’t be able to resist my unsealed state.”
She then proceeded to check her dress and the way it smelled.
‘It smells nice but I’m still going to take a shower after everything’s done…’
“Alright, Let’s go!!! We’ll clean this all up as fast as possible!” She yelled out excitedly.
Xavier who was down the hall glanced back at the room.
‘I wonder why she’s so excited…’
After a few more steps he halted before leaning against the wall and facepalming himself.
‘Let’s everything up quick…’ He thought to himself with a flustered expression.
Although he was trying to hide it, it was clear that Xavier was also looking forward to continuing off from where they left off.
He could still vaguely remember the soft feeling of her body and her warmth. It was etched into his mind.
‘Damn Vampire… She wasn’t joking about being irresistable… I almost pushed her down right then and there…’
Xavier took in a deep breath before slowly letting it out to calm himself. After making sure that he was back to normal, he continued his walk down the hallway before stopping by a door to one of the unoccupied rooms.
*Knock* *Knock*
Xavier knocked twice and shortly after-
*Click*
The door was unlocked and someone swung it open from the other side.
Xavier got a good look at the one who opened the door as it creaked open. It was a female servant wearing the same maid outfit as Anastasia.
“Are the other remaining servants all safe?” He asked.
The girl slowly nodded before opening the door wide.
From there Xavier was able to get a good look inside.
Crouched inside of the room and bundled together were the other servants who were trembling in fear. Both male and female Vampires.
On one corner of the room were the injured which had received treatment from the servants specialised in such.”U-Um… H-Have you finished dealing with the last one?” The female maid ahead of him asked.
Xavier had avoided getting a decent look at the servant’s faces as he didn’t want to build any sort of connection with them before.
Things however, had changed. Xavier got a good look at the face of the servant ahead of him.
The girl had short umbra black hair which reached her pointy vampire ears and deep red eyes. Her eyes stared at Xavier with both fear and respect.
“Yeah, I killed them all.” Said Xavier before suddenly stepping into the room. “You heard me right? I killed them all.”
The Vampires expressions all lit up once they heard this, just as they were about to get up and celebrate their survival, they were stopped by Xavier who let off a wave of bloodlust as he glared at them.
“I hope you all understand what this means… I was hearing rumours about some servants being… Unsatisfied with the fact that my family is human or that Sangrea risked it all for us.”
Veins bulged out of Xavier’s neck in anger as the tension rose in the air. It became harder and harder for them to breathe.
“If you have any complains… You’re welcome to come sort them out with me at any time… But if any of you dare try to do anything to harm my family. I promise you, it will fail, and in return… I’ll devour you.”
Xavier let everything that he was holding back out. It was the perfect opportunity now that he’d saved them and showed them what he was capable of.
“…”
Cold sweat dripped down the faces of all the Vampires in the room as they stared at him. Speechless.
“Am I understood?” Xavier asked.
Without hesitation, all of the Vampires nodded. Their feelings towards him were of fear and respect, the absolute last thing they would want would be to incur his wrath.
“Good… Spread the message to the other servants in hiding.” Said Xavier as he turned around.
He glanced back at the original short black haired servant before asking. “What’s your name.”
“A-Alexia…” She responded.
Xavier walked past her with a nod. “I hope you remember the promise you made.” Xavier responded.
During the battle, Xavier had encountered this very exact servant. She begged him to keep them safe and not let any harm befall them.
Xavier had only agreed in exchange for her being his personal informant. From now on, she would be his eyes in the mansion. Whenever servants would show signs of planning harm on his family, she would relay the information of who they were to him.
She would also need to fabricate enough evidence but Xavier had plans to discuss it with her yesterday.
‘There’s no one else better for the role, the servants see her as one of their own.’ Xavier clenched his fist. ‘With that sorted, It’s time to move onto the next task.’
“I-I remember…” She nodded as she watched Xavier walk out.
Just as she said that however, a familiar voice reached her ears.
“Xavi, what are you doing here- Ah-! A-All the servants are here…”
Stood by the door was Sangrea who was smiling joyfully. She was completely unharmed. Seeing her safe lifted the spirits of all the servants in the room, including Alexia’s.
“I’m so glad you’re all safe…” Sangrea muttered as tears began streaming down her eyes.
Confusion spread across the room whilst they watched as Sangrea cried there. They were all happy to see that she was safe so why was she crying?
“I’m sorry… I’m very sorry. I know I don’t have any right saying that… Many of you were hurt because of me… And for that I have to apologise…” She muttered as she suddenly bowed before them.
She’d prioritised looking after Xavier’s family because she thought they could fend off for themselves. But on the way she’d seen the corpses of other servants who were unfortunate and caught in the cross fire.
Tears began flowing down the servants face as they couldn’t bear the sight.
“Please, young lady, raise your head!”
“It’s not your fault!”
“It’s those bastards fault! We knew what we were getting to when we signed up for this!” Stated Alexia as she walked up to her. “Please don’t worry about us… We’re fine.” Said Alexia as she grabbed Sangrea’s hands, clasping them together.
Sangrea slowly raised her head, showing her teary face with a bit of snot running down it. “I still failed as the one in charge of this household. I’m still sorry… I promise… I promise that I’ll avenge them… I’ll make the ones responsible for this pay…!”
The fact that Sangrea thought that much of them moved all of the servants in the room to the state of tears.
Xavier who stood outside the room, quietly leaning against the wall, backed away from it before walking down the hall.
‘So that’s what was bothering her…’
Sangrea’s expression was a bit off when he had seen her, she felt responsible for everything that had happened. The weight of the lives of her servants were weighing down on her.
‘Don’t worry, now that they’re no longer perceived as a threat to my family. I’ll make sure no harm falls upon them.’ Xavier thought to himself coldy before continuing his walk.
