84 Chapter 84: Evolution: Vampire & Chronos Hybrid. (Part 1)
“Head butler, we have a visitor…” Spoke a feminine voice on the other side of the door. Her voice was shaking from fear.
Hearing this, the butler’s expression turned serious. “Didn’t I tell you that we’re not expecting any visitors at this time?”
“She had to make a special exception, she didn’t have much of a choice after all…” Spoke another voice as the door creaked open.
This one was masculine, not an ounce of fear could be felt in it. If anything, it was cockiness. The butler didn’t recognise the voice at first.
With the opening of the door, two figures walked inside. In that instant, Sangrea and Anastasia both stood up from their seats with their guards up.
The one in the lead of the group, was a tall Chocolate brown haired man with deep slit crimson red eyes and pointy ears. He wore the navy blue uniform and carried a single long sword on his waist.
To his left was a tall lady. She had long deep onyx coloured hair which was tied back in a ponytail, her hips were wide and her waist was slim. She too was wearing the female version of the same uniform.
Her crimson red eyes rested behind her glasses as she held onto a paper holder pad with a single piece paper being held.
“What’s the reason for your visit, Gale Vernon?” The butler asked, recognising the chocolate brown haired man.
Xavier who was seated by the table looked over at the look the three of them were giving the man. They seemed to recognise him but didn’t seem like they liked him.
‘Gale Vernon…? Vernon? If memory serves me correctly that’s a noble family… Marquess ranked. If he’s here then that means…’
“I’m sure we all know the reason for my visit.” Said Gale, interrupting Sophie’s thoughts as he glanced over to the lady beside him.
“As of, 11:00 AM, September 14th, All the members of Redblood family have been sentenced to execution for betrayal.” Said the lady.
“There you have it. Orders from above. You really pissed them off this time, didn’t you?” Said Gale with a saddened look as he walked towards Sangrea..
The instant he took a step forward however, the butler appeared before him with a knife he’d picked up from the table. It was placed right on gale’s neck.
“Because of our past history together, I will give you the chance to turn back now.” Said the butler as he glared at him.
Gale could feel the bloodlust looming over him but was completely unphased by it.
“I heard the stories, if it was the you from before, you may have stood a chance to stop me… But the current you… You know that won’t be enough, don’t you?”
“Shall we test that theory?” The butler asked with veins bulging out of his neck in anger.
“Haha, maybe another time. You see, I’m not here to hurt her. I came here to make an offer to Sangrea.”
“Offer?” Anastasia questioned as she kept her guard up, she had the knife pressing down on her vein, ready to activate her ability whenever necessary.
“Yeah, Sangrea… If you finally decided to accept my marriage proposal, me and my family will do everything in our power to guarantee you and your family’s safety.”
“What will marrying you at this point change? The order is official, the royal family themselves are out for the Redbloods. You’re just a Marquess.”
The smile on Gale’s face grew. “I shouldn’t have to tell you, should I? You already know about my family’s connections… I can make a few arrangements and make another family take the blame for the incident. If that doesn’t work, there are plenty of others ways now that we’re at war.”
Sophie who was listening in from her seat, placed her hand beneath her chin.
‘True, if it’s the same Vernon family I’ve heard of… It should be possible… It’s said in terms of connections in the Vampire World, their powers could rival even those of the dukes. They have their very own network spread out even to other countries.’
Sophie looked over to Viera and Elaine, who were still on their seats along with Xavier. They were worried and looked like they wanted to help but their bodies couldn’t move from all the fear.
Then there was Xavier who had finishing his meal.
‘He’s eating even in this situation? How hungry was he!?’
“So, what’s it going to be, Sangrea?” He asked as he looked over at her.
“…No.”
Gale’s eyebrow twitched.
“Sangrea, I ask that you think carefully about this, this entire mansion is surrounded by high-ranking noble’s which hold hatred towards your family. Only I can calm them down, you may not get another opportunity like this-“
“I said no, I’ve already given you an answer in the past. I won’t marry you. I’m already married to someone that I like, and that I’m bonded to.”
Clenching his fist in anger, Gale maintained the forced smile on his face as he looked past Sangrea at the only other man seated in the room.
A young man with hair which was part silver and part black, just as the rumours mentioned. He was seated by the table and finishing the plate of food that was left.
“So, it’s him… Is it? The Devourer… I found it strange, why do something absurd as taking down a Vampire camp when you have nothing to gain from it…”
“It’s because of him, isn’t it? He’s the one you’re engaged to.” Gale asked as he glared at Xavier.
Sangrea didn’t respond to him, instead she shifted over to the right, in order to block Xavier from his line of sight, indicating that if he wanted to get to him he’d have to get past her.
Gale also noticed countless thin barely visible threads around Xavier and the others seated on the table as if protecting them. He looked over at Sophie, quickly realising that the threads belonged to her.
“A coward hiding behind all these girls, this is the man you’ve chosen as your husb-“
*Clang!*
Xavier slammed the cutlery down onto his plate once he’d finally finished it. Upon getting up, he wiped his mouth with a napkin before glancing over at Sangrea and the others.
“Everyone, sit back down. You’re not finished with your meal.”
Xavier’s tone of authority along with his cold emotionless expression sent shivers down their spine’s as he got up and walked towards the window.
“Sophie.” Xavier muttered.
In that instant, Gale’s eyes narrowed as he noticed countless threads wrapped around his neck and arms. The lady beside him widened her eyes as she also noticed the thread wrapped around her own neck and arms.
*SWOOSH* *CRASH!*
And just like that, with a swing of her arm, both of their figures was launched by the threads straight towards the windows and right past Xavier before crashing through it and out into the pouring rain.
*Crash!*
The sound of him colliding against the dirt, permeated throughout the air.
“That’s better.” Said Sophie with a grin.
Her grin faded however, as the man tugged at her threads from outside the mansion. Had she not let go of her threads, she would have gone flying out of the room towards him.
The butler and the maid were both surprised by this, even they only noticed the threads after she had made her moves.
“Sangrea, come here.” Called out Xavier, as he glanced at her.
Sangrea nodded before quickly running over at Xavier, upon reaching him he stretched his arm out towards her, gesturing her to lower her collar.
She did as she said and lowered her collar, exposing her cleavage and part of of her chest along with the seal and skull on it.
“I’ll go and kill all of them hiding outside. You and the others will here with Sophie and keep everyone safe.”
Sangrea stared at him with a worried look before nodding.
“Are you sure you won’t need our help?” She asked.
[XP remaining until Evolution: 280]
“It’ll be fine. I’ll kill them all.” He responded with a cold smile.
In that instant, Gale’s infuriated and drenched figure appeared behind him by the window thrusting his arm out to grab him.
But the moment he touched him, Xavier’s palm slammed against Gale’s face causing his figure to vanish in that very same moment.
[Rewind Level 2: Retract.]
Xavier had rewinded him five seconds back to where he’d been launched.
*CRASH!*
The crashed resounded again.
Surprised by what had just happened and what they’d seen, no one uttered a word.
No one except for Elaine who shouted.
“P-Please be careful!”
Not wanting to show his mother anymore of his dark side, Xavier nodded before leaping out of the room and pulling Sangrea’s seal’s Key along with him.
*VBOOOM!!!*
And just like that, all the closest windows around shattered, as a dark aura protruded out from the window after him.
*CRASH!*
Xavier crashed into the ground, outside the mansion. Staring at Gale’s figure as he quickly picked himself up from the ground. He was infuriated and even more drenched than before. His uniform was covered in dirt.
Beside Gale was the pissed off lady, who’s uniform was also dirty.
To make things worst, they weren’t the only ones Xavier had to worry about.
Despite all the rain masking their scents and making it harder to see, Xavier could both feel and see them.
Many powerful Vampires on stand-by around the mansion’s vicinity.
Xavier took in a deep breath before letting it out slowly.
“Devour.”
