Reverend Insanity : Blood Path
Chapter 94 First Gen Gu Yue
First Gen Gu Yue gaze then fell upon the dying Fang Yuan, and surprise flashed through its dim eyes. “This aura… a descendant of the Gu Yue Clan? No, it’s more than that. He carries my bloodline.”
It examined Fang Yuan’s broken body and muttered, “This little fellow is already at death’s door. What a waste.”
“My descendant, open your eyes. I am your ancestor.”
The blood corpse casually released a beam of blood-red light that enveloped Fang Yuan’s body. Under its illumination, Fang Yuan’s terrible injuries began recovering at a visible speed. His shattered bones reconnected, torn flesh closed, and within only a few breaths, the wounds that had left him on the verge of death had completely healed.
Fang Yuan’s fingers trembled slightly before he slowly climbed to his feet. He immediately cupped his fists and bowed. “This descendant, Gu Yue Fang Yuan, greets the old ancestor. Thank you, Ancestor, for saving my life. I will certainly repay this life-saving grace tenfold in the future.”
The first-generation Gu Yue nodded slightly. Although he had originally produced generations of descendants for the sake of improving his own aptitude in the future, seeing one of his bloodline descendants standing before him still left him somewhat pleased.
He then turned toward Jia Jinsheng. Curling his hand into a claw, he released an invisible suction force that dragged Jia Jinsheng’s mangled body out from where it had crashed into the stone wall. The first-generation Gu Yue immediately stabbed one sharp claw into Jia Jinsheng’s lower abdomen, directly toward the location of his aperture.
Clearly, First Gen Gu intended to seize Jia Jinsheng’s Gu worms. Jia Jinsheng had been knocked unconscious before he could react, leaving him no chance to destroy the Gu within his aperture.
The reason the first-generation Gu Yue had suddenly awakened was precisely because he had sensed the presence of another Blood Path Gu Master on Qing Mao Mountain.
Blood Flow Gu, Blood Refining Gu, Blade-Winged Blood Bat Gu… These are all common Gu found in Blood Path inheritances. Did this brat only obtain some ordinary Blood Path inheritance?
The first-generation Gu Yue searched through Jia Jinsheng’s aperture. Several of the Blood Path Gu inside had already been damaged during the previous battle, but as a Rank Five Blood Path Gu Master, he could still identify them from the remaining fragments.
The Gu he recognized so far was nothing special. Blood Sea Ancestors had spread countless inheritances throughout the world, and Gu such as these appeared in many of them. Even if Jia Jinsheng had inherited one, there was little reason for the first-generation Gu Yue to care.
Just as he began to suspect that Jia Jinsheng had obtained nothing more than an ordinary Blood Path inheritance, his movements suddenly stopped.
Deep within Jia Jinsheng’s aperture, he discovered an exceptionally unusual Blood Path Gu worm.
“Why have I never seen this Rank Three Gu before? It doesn’t even require Rank Three primeval essence. Even a Rank One Gu Master can activate it.”
The first-generation Gu Yue examined the remaining Rank Three Blood Embryo Gu with great interest. After testing it several times, he quickly discovered its extraordinary effect.
Blood Embryo Gu could consume a Gu Master’s blood and alter their primeval essence. Depending on the concentration of the altered primeval essence, it could even nourish the aperture and raise the Gu Master’s aptitude.
However, its drawbacks were equally obvious. Blood Embryo Gu would gradually change the Gu Master’s aperture, causing the primeval essence produced afterward to become blood-red primeval essence. This primeval essence was highly compatible with Blood Path Gu, but when used to activate Gu of other paths, it would slowly corrode them. With prolonged use, those Gu could eventually dissolve into pools of blood.
For Blood Path Gu Masters, however, this drawback hardly mattered. Blood-red primeval essence was even more effective when used to activate Blood Path Gu, making Blood Embryo Gu an extremely valuable cultivation Gu for them.
“This Gu is remarkably similar to my Blood Skull Gu! If I combine the two into a killer move specifically designed to raise aptitude, reaching A-grade aptitude should be no problem at all. I might not even need to slaughter all my bloodline descendants and extract their blood!”
The more the first-generation Gu Yue considered the possibility, the more excited he became. A strange cackling laugh escaped from his mouth.
Standing nearby, Fang Yuan noticed his reaction, and countless thoughts immediately flashed through his mind.
He claims to be the first-generation Gu Yue and has transformed himself into a Blood Zombie, so surviving for hundreds of years is certainly possible. More importantly, from my previous life’s experience cultivating Blood Path, I can sense that we really do share the same bloodline. His identity is probably genuine.
But the older one grows, the more cunning one becomes. Judging from his earlier methods, this old bastard is clearly a Blood Path Gu Master as well. Now he has obtained Jia Jinsheng’s Blood Path Gu worms…
Fang Yuan rapidly searched through his memories for everything he knew about the first-generation Gu Yue while considering how to deal with the situation.
Although the first-generation Gu Yue had just saved his life, Fang Yuan did not lower his guard in the slightest. He had once cultivated Blood Path himself and understood its methods far too well. Who knew whether this old monster would suddenly decide to drain his blood to refine some Gu?
