Reverend Insanity : Blood Path

Chapter 90 Fang Yuan vs Jia Jinsheng

  • Next Chapter

Following the route in his memories, Fang Yuan led Jia Jinsheng toward the secluded crack in the mountain wall. Hidden within it was a secret capable of shaking the entire Qing Mao Mountain.

Neither of them noticed that another figure was silently following behind.

It seems nothing has changed. I wonder what will happen once the Flower Wine Monk’s true inheritance is exposed… Hehe, I’m really looking forward to it.

Lin Feng followed closely behind before his figure slowly disappeared from sight. To ensure that nothing went wrong during his visit to Qing Mao Mountain, he had specially refined Hidden Scale Gu beforehand.

Hidden Scale Gu was refined by combining the Rank One Hidden Stone Gu and Rank One Fish Scale Gu. Both Gu were common and inexpensive, making the refinement relatively easy, while the resulting Gu possessed a useful concealment ability. Once activated, it could make both the Gu Master and his clothes invisible.

Of course, Hidden Scale Gu was only Rank One. Many investigative Gu could easily see through its invisibility, but for Lin Feng’s current purpose, it was more than sufficient.

As everyone in the Gu Yue Clan knew, the fourth-generation clan leader had died after being ambushed by the Rank Five demonic Gu Master, Flower Wine Monk. Although the fourth-generation clan leader ultimately managed to kill him, he had also suffered fatal injuries and died soon afterward.

The truth, however, was completely different. Flower Wine Monk had originally come to Qing Mao Mountain to trade for Moon Orchid petals. The fourth-generation clan leader secretly poisoned his wine, intending to eliminate this notorious demonic Gu Master, but Flower Wine Monk saw through the scheme and turned it against him.

A fierce battle subsequently erupted between Flower Wine Monk and the Gu Yue Clan. With his Rank Five cultivation, Flower Wine Monk easily defeated the fourth-generation clan leader. However, after lowering his guard, he was struck by the Rank Four Moon Shadow Gu, which restricted the circulation of his primeval essence. Enraged, Flower Wine Monk killed the fourth-generation clan leader with a single strike and inflicted heavy losses upon the Gu Yue Clan.

Flower Wine Monk had recorded the entire incident on an image wall, originally intending to use evidence of the Gu Yue Clan’s actions to threaten them later.

In Fang Yuan’s previous life, a disheartened Gu Master had accidentally discovered the Liquor Worm while drinking. Following it deeper underground, he eventually found Flower Wine Monk’s corpse and reported everything to the clan, earning considerable praise.

After his rebirth, Fang Yuan purposely used alcohol as bait while searching for the Liquor Worm. Through persistent effort, he eventually found it and followed it to Flower Wine Monk’s corpse, where he also discovered the image wall recording what had truly happened hundreds of years ago.

Normally, any clansman with even the slightest loyalty toward the clan would have immediately handed over such evidence of an old scandal. Not only would the clan suppress the matter, but the person who discovered it would receive praise and perhaps fifty primeval stones as a reward.

Unfortunately, that person was Fang Yuan. Between protecting the Gu Yue Clan’s reputation and obtaining several thousand primeval stones from Jia Jinsheng, there was hardly any choice to make.

I understand now. The Great Love Immortal Venerable must simply want the clan to acknowledge its mistakes and bravely face the sins of its past. Such righteousness… I’m almost moved to tears.

Lin Feng silently mocked him while continuing to follow from the shadows. Then another thought crossed his mind.

Wait. Jia Jinsheng is already Rank Two and cultivates Blood Path. If he still can’t kill Fang Yuan, I’ll simply kill Fang Yuan myself and frame Jia Jinsheng for it.

Killing intent surged within Lin Feng. If Fang Yuan died here, countless future opportunities would lose their greatest competitor. Lin Feng would no longer have to worry about Fang Yuan appearing at the critical moment and taking benefits that he had already set his sights upon. If something somehow prevented him from killing Fang Yuan, that would be equally interesting. He could use the attempt to observe just how far fate could interfere to protect one of its most important chess pieces.

There was little reason for Lin Feng to hesitate. He was already a Rank Four peak stage Gu Master. Although he did not possess many Rank Four Gu, there was no one on Qing Mao Mountain he considered a serious threat.

He had no intention of repeating Fang Yuan’s experience with Ma Hong Yun, where an enemy who should have been easy to kill repeatedly escaped through absurd turns of fortune.

It’s only killing one person. Why think about it so much?

By the time Lin Feng dismissed these thoughts, the confrontation had already ended. Fang Yuan glanced indifferently at Jia Jinsheng’s corpse before turning his attention toward the image wall.

“To think there would be such a twist. Interesting.” Fang Yuan murmured, a strange light flashing through his eyes. “If I can obtain Flower Wine Monk’s inheritance, it could save me decades of effort. It would be like reaching the heavens in a single step.”

But the next moment, the blood spreading across the ground suddenly began flowing backward.

Fang Yuan’s pupils contracted. Jia Jinsheng, who should have been dead, abruptly sat up and pressed a hand against the wound on his neck. Blood rapidly flowed back into his body, and under the effect of a Blood Path Gu worm, the deep wound closed at a visible speed.

“You… you’re a Blood Path Gu Master?!” Fang Yuan exclaimed, genuine shock breaking through his composure.
