Reverend Insanity : Blood Path
Chapter 73 Feng Tianyu
Lu Family Village, Jinghe Garden.
A Rank Four Gu Master reclined lazily on a soft couch, sipping the finest tea. The doors before him stood wide open, revealing the elegant courtyard beyond. A cool breeze accompanied the light rain, causing the bamboo grove outside to sway gently and filling the garden with a peaceful atmosphere.
In this dangerous world of Gu Masters, where countless people struggled merely to survive, anyone capable of enjoying such a leisurely life naturally possessed abilities that ordinary people could not match.
The young Gu Master was Feng Tianyu. Around twenty-five or twenty-six years old, he possessed Rank Four cultivation and came from the righteous path. He had once been the young clan leader of a mountain stronghold, but what truly made him famous throughout the Southern Border was his extraordinary talent in Refinement Path.
Feng Tianyu possessed master-level Refinement Path attainment and was regarded as one of the Four Great Refinement Masters of Southern Border, with only three others considered his equal. Back when he had merely possessed Rank Three cultivation, he had successfully refined a Rank Five Gu. Although that Gu survived for only half a day, the achievement alone had been enough to spread Feng Tianyu’s name throughout the Southern Border. Unfortunately, his clan later lost a struggle against another force, their stronghold was destroyed, and Feng Tianyu fell from the position of young clan leader to becoming a lone cultivator. Even so, with his extraordinary Refinement Path ability, he remained highly sought after wherever he went.
“Brother Feng?”
A gentle breeze swept through the courtyard. Several breaths later, a Gu Master silently appeared before Feng Tianyu.
Feng Tianyu was startled and immediately rose from the couch, but after recognizing the newcomer, his vigilance disappeared and a smile appeared on his face.
“Brother Lin? So it’s you.” Feng Tianyu smiled and cupped his hands. “We haven’t met since Jia Family Village. I still owe you thanks for what happened back then. What brings you here today?”
The newcomer was naturally Lin Feng, whose cultivation had already reached Rank Four peak stage. He casually sat down on the couch beside Feng Tianyu as though he were visiting an old acquaintance. “I didn’t expect Brother Feng to still remember me. After we parted ways at Jia Family Village, I thought you might have forgotten me already.”
“How could I forget?” Feng Tianyu smiled before looking at him curiously. “Still, you wouldn’t come all this way merely to visit this foolish brother of yours. What do you need from me?”
Lin Feng smiled. “Brother Feng understands me well. I do have something to ask of you. I want you to refine several Gu for me. Naturally, I won’t ask you to work for nothing. The payment will definitely satisfy you.”
As he spoke, Lin Feng took out a Bookworm and handed it over. Feng Tianyu accepted the Gu worm and began examining the information stored within. After reading only a small portion when his eyes suddenly brightened.

Secret room.
“Quick, increase the heat! More!” Feng Tianyu urged as he closely watched the Gu refinement.
Hearing this, Lin Feng, who was assisting him, immediately poured more primeval essence into his Flame Path Gu, causing the flames beneath the refinement vessel to surge upward.
Feng Tianyu watched the changes within the flames, but soon frowned. “Still not enough. Brother Lin, increase the flames again! We need much stronger fire at this stage!”
“I’ve already pushed the Flame Path Gu to its limit. This is the strongest flame I can produce.” Lin Feng shook his head helplessly. He did not specialize in Flame Path, and there was simply no way for him to increase the flames any further.
Feng Tianyu frowned briefly before quickly finding another solution. “Then activate the Wind Path Gu I gave you earlier and use the wind to strengthen the flames. Don’t worry about the interference. Once the timing is right, I’ll use my Refinement Path killer move to remove the remaining wind path traces and purify the newly formed Gu Worm.”
Although Feng Tianyu was still young, he already possessed master level Refinement Path attainment and had mastered several Refinement Path killer moves. One of them could remove the interference introduced during refinement, making it particularly useful in situations like this.
Gu refinement demanded extremely precise control, and even something as simple as wind could introduce unwanted interference and cause the refinement to fail. However, under Feng Tianyu’s guidance, every step proceeded in an orderly manner. After another period of careful refinement, brilliant rainbow light suddenly erupted from the vessel.
The rainbow radiance gradually faded, revealing a Rank Four Gu Worm.
It was the Rank Four Bone Echo Gu.
Bone Echo Gu resembled a beetle covered in pale bone armor, with sharp bone spikes protruding across its body. Its head spread outward like a fan, while fine scale-like patterns covered its surface. Rows of rounded protrusions lined its back symmetrically, with a raised ridge running through the middle. Its abdomen was translucent like amber, revealing a ring of blood mist continuously shifting within.
Bone Echo Gu originated from the White Bone inheritance. More precisely, it was one of the most important Gu created by Grey Bone Scholar during his development of the Flesh and Bone Unity series, and could be considered the predecessor of Bone Flesh Unity Gu.
Lin Feng had obtained Bone Echo Gu some time ago, but its rank had been too low to be useful to him. Since his own refinement abilities leaned heavily toward Blood Path, he had temporarily abandoned the idea of advancing it. Now, with Feng Tianyu personally handling the refinement, he had finally succeeded in raising it to Rank Four.
The Bone Echo Gu spread its wings and flew into Feng Tianyu’s palm. After briefly examining it and confirming that there were no problems, Feng Tianyu handed it to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng immediately refined the Gu and stored it within his aperture. “Brother Feng, many thanks. Without your help, I wouldn’t have been able to refine this Gu so smoothly.”
“No need for thanks. You provided all the materials, and I’ve already received my payment.” Feng Tianyu waved his hand, exhaustion plainly visible on his face.
With the refinement complete, both of them finally relaxed. They had remained awake for three days and three nights without rest, concentrating on every stage of the refinement. Even two Rank Four Gu Masters could no longer hide their exhaustion, and both simply sat down on the floor to recover.
“Finally, it’s refined! Hahaha, wonderful, truly wonderful! Nothing is more satisfying than successfully refining a Gu.” Feng Tianyu collapsed onto the ground and laughed heartily, his exhaustion unable to conceal his excitement. After his stronghold was destroyed and his clansmen perished, almost all the joy remaining in his life came from Gu refinement. Only when immersing himself in refinement could he temporarily forget everything he had lost.
Seeing his delighted expression, Lin Feng could not help but find it strange. Feng Tianyu’s obsession with Refinement Path had already reached an astonishing degree. Sometimes, Lin Feng even wondered whether this fellow had some Hairy Man blood hidden in his ancestry. Otherwise, how could a human possibly be this obsessed with refining Gu?
