Feeling this change, Lin Feng immediately stopped activating Bear Strength Gu.

Even something beneficial could become harmful when taken too far. Bear Strength Gu could only be used for around fifteen minutes each day by an ordinary Gu Master. Beyond that limit, the strengthening process would begin causing pain, and continuing to activate it would only make the suffering increasingly severe. If someone stubbornly persisted, they could even die from the pain.

Lin Feng’s physique was already much stronger than that of an ordinary person, allowing him to endure the effect for nearly half an hour before reaching his limit.

After putting away Bear Strength Gu, Lin Feng lay back on the bed and examined the Gu within his aperture. As he counted them one by one, memories of everything that had happened over the past several years slowly surfaced in his mind.

He had transmigrated into this world during childhood and spent more than ten years living as an ordinary mortal. For a long time, he had believed that his entire life would continue that way. Yet fate was unpredictable, and no one could know what awaited them in the future.

If Lin Feng from more than ten years ago had been told that he would eventually obtain one of Blood Sea Ancestor’s true inheritances and secretly become a demonic Blood Path Gu Master, he would never have believed it.

Among the Gu inside his aperture, the most important were naturally the Blood Path Gu originated from Blood Sea Ancestor’s true inheritance.

Years ago, while gathering herbs in the mountains, Lin Feng had accidentally fallen into a hidden cave. From that moment onward, the course of his life had completely changed. Deep within the cave, he discovered a true inheritance that had remained hidden for countless years.

At first, Lin Feng had expected the inheritance to contain numerous trials and dangers. Yet obtaining it had been unexpectedly easy. There were almost no obstacles left by the person who arranged it, something that had puzzled him greatly at the time.

Only after learning that it was one of Blood Sea Ancestor’s true inheritances did Lin Feng understand why.

If there was any inheritance in the world whose creator genuinely wanted as many people as possible to obtain and spread it, Blood Sea Ancestor’s inheritances undoubtedly ranked among the foremost.

Blood Sea Ancestor was originally a clone of Giant Sun Immortal Venerable. During Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s lifetime, the conditions required for Blood Path to emerge had not yet matured. Only many years after his death did sufficient foundations appear, allowing the Blood Sea clone he had left behind to finally create Blood Path.

However, Heavenly Court was filled with capable experts and soon interfered with his plans. The Gu Immortal master and disciple pair, Fei Shuang and Ning Xue, pursued Blood Sea Ancestor in an attempt to suppress the development of Blood Path. Later, Refinement Path great grandmaster Lian Shen Ke seized Bloodline Immortal Gu, nearly ruining Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s entire arrangement.

For Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s plan to continue, Blood Path needed to spread throughout the world and be developed by countless Gu Masters. Blood Sea Ancestor therefore divided and scattered his true inheritances widely, deliberately lowering the barriers to obtaining them.

The easier his inheritances were to acquire, the more people would cultivate Blood Path.

And the more people who cultivated Blood Path, the further the path would develop, ultimately serving Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s grand plan.

Due to Heavenly Court’s influence, righteous forces across the five regions heavily suppressed Blood Path Gu Masters, forcing most of them to hide simply to survive. To ensure Blood Path could continue developing under such circumstances, Blood Sea Ancestor had deliberately made his inheritances easy to obtain. Blood Path Gu also generally consumed little primeval essence, allowing even newly awakened Rank One Gu Masters to use many of them.

Blood Path also had another major advantage: its cultivation resources were relatively easy to obtain, while its cultivation speed was extremely fast during the early stages. Its drawbacks only became increasingly difficult to deal with later on.

Because of this, Blood Sea Ancestor’s inheritances became some of the most widespread inheritances in the world. No matter how fiercely Blood Path was suppressed, Blood Path Gu Masters continued to appear endlessly. Like a centipede that remained standing even after death, Blood Path simply refused to disappear.

The inheritance Lin Feng had obtained was Blood and Sweat True Inheritance, one of Blood Sea Ancestor’s nine true inheritances. It contained cultivation knowledge, numerous secret techniques, methods concerning immortal ascension, and hundreds of Gu recipes, including several Immortal Gu recipes.

Among its Gu were common Blood Path Gu that could also be found in other Blood Sea inheritances, such as Rank Three Blade-Winged Blood Bat Gu, Blood Toad Gu, Blood Flow Gu, and Blood Refining Gu. There were also Gu and recipes unique to Blood and Sweat True Inheritance, including Blood Embryo Gu.

Over the years, Lin Feng had refined many Blood Path Gu, though only around ten remained with him now.

Essence Blood Gu, Blood Embryo Gu, and Lin Feng’s self-created Blood Tax Gu were mainly related to cultivation. Blood Flow Gu and Blade-Winged Blood Bat Gu provided offensive methods, while Blood Sensing Gu was used for investigation and Blood Walking Gu for movement.

Blood Scab Gu handled defense, while Blood Regeneration Gu provided healing. Blood Toad Gu and Blood Lotus Gu were used for storage, and Blood Refining Gu assisted in refining other Gu.

Of course, the highest-ranked among them was now the Rank Five Blood River Python, quietly coiled within the depths of Lin Feng’s primeval sea.

This was a valuable treasure dropped by the first-generation Gu Yue. Naturally, Lin Feng intended to take very good care of it.

Then again, Lin Feng sometimes felt that the Blood River Python was less of a windfall and more like compensation from the Venerables behind the chessboard, telling him to take his gains and stop causing trouble for Fang Yuan.

Regardless, Lin Feng had indeed possessed considerably more Blood Path Gu in the past. Many had been consumed, replaced, or used during his years of cultivating blood slaves, leaving only his current set behind.
