Chapter 613: Gumiho’s cultivation method

  • Next Chapter

Maximilian wasn’t sure that Gumiho was a Supreme Existence until he met her. He didn’t even know what a Supreme Existence was. He learned about it when he reached the Celestial Realm.

When his consciousness ventured into the cosmos during his closed-door cultivation, he learned many things about the universe.

Supreme Existence was one such concept. It wasn’t difficult for him to figure out the Supreme Existence of Vyoman. There was only one such being, after all. The one who had defeated the Almighty Sovereign at the zenith of his power.

The Goddess of All Beasts, Gumiho. And she hadn’t even reached her final form. If she successfully formed her ninth tail, Maximilian couldn’t even imagine the strength she might possess.

"Master, please teach me how to cultivate." Gumiho’s voice came from the door, pulling Maximilian out of his thoughts.

’That was quick,’ he thought, rising from the bed.

He opened the door and found Gumiho standing there with a determined look in her eyes.

"I don’t know if I’m a Supreme Existence or not," she said, her tone calm. "I don’t care about ruling the entire world either. I only wish to create peace between humans and beasts. For that, I’m willing to cultivate under you and always respect you as my master."

"Well, we are at least on the same page now." Maximilian chuckled as he stepped out of the room. "Follow me."

They reached the front yard of her abode, where they sat inside the chariot and left the peak.

"Where are we going, Master?" Gumiho asked, tilting her head, the fluffy fox ears on her head swaying with the motion.

"To enjoy the beauty of the world," he told her, pointing outside.

Her eyes followed the direction of his finger, looking through the window.

On the distant horizon, the sun was slowly sinking behind the hills, painting the world in a beautiful golden hue. Through the opposite window, she could already see darkness slowly blanketing the world in the distance.

"So beautiful..." she murmured instinctively.

The Western Continent was insanely vast. Even though they had been moving at an incredibly fast speed for over an hour, passing the towering hills of the Tiger Clan, they were still inside the beast territory.

The beast territory was situated between the human territory and the Lingtian Mountains, which had only appeared in Vyoman a few hundred years ago.

Since their emergence, humans had been actively invading the beast territory to claim the rights to the mountains, leading to a century-long war in which neither side had managed to gain the upper hand.

The beast territory itself was formed of four major clans: the Tiger Clan, Bear Clan, Fox Clan, and Deer Clan.

The Tiger, Bear, and Fox Clans covered the major part of the territory. Their borders were also connected to the human territory.

The Deer Clan was at the back, surrounded by the three clans from the front. Behind it stood the Lingtian Mountains.

Even though the Lingtian Mountains were arguably part of the beast territory, the beasts never got the chance to cultivate there. The humans had been actively attacking them, forcing them to remain on the frontlines.

The distance between the frontlines and the Lingtian Mountains was several thousand kilometres, which made it impossible for the beasts to move back and forth between the two territories, leaving the Lingtian Mountains completely abandoned.

"Master, we are about to reach the territory of the Tiger Clan," Gumiho said, concern evident in her voice. "Should we head back?"

"Of course not." Maximilian shook his finger in denial. "I’m taking you to the proper place for cultivation."

"Y-you mean..."

"Lingtian Mountains," Maximilian finished her words with a faint smile.

"But we have to move through the territory of the Deer Clan to reach there," Gumiho argued. Maximilian being a human was reason enough for the entire Deer Clan to mobilize and take them down.

"Don’t worry about it," Maximilian told her confidently. "Just enjoy the scenery outside."

From his foot, a wave of energy entered the chariot, causing it to ascend.

The chariot could only fly at an altitude of ten thousand metres. Beyond that, the temperature would drop to the point where it would freeze the entire chariot.

It was also the height limit of the sensory arrays established by the Deer Clan to make sure their territory wasn’t infiltrated.

The Soulforce released by Maximilian covered the entire chariot, providing it with enough energy to move while also keeping it from freezing.

"Fifteen thousand metres?" Gumiho gasped, her brows raised as the chariot continued rising. "Not even a Sacred Beast could fly that high. Master, are you truly only at the Early-Stage True Sage Realm?"

Master Arthur was becoming more and more of a mystery to Gumiho. He possessed a Divine Artifact, had broken through the protection barrier of the Tiger Clan, and could even remove a Soul Gnawing Gu from a Sacred Beast, a feat unheard of in the history of the Western Continent.

When she found him unconscious on the battlefield, his cultivation base had been unstable, and his body had been covered in numerous injuries.

But now, he seemed completely healthy. She couldn’t even gauge the depth of his cultivation.

Not to mention, he possessed deep knowledge about the world, something Gumiho doubted that Vyomendra or even her father, Aruma, possessed.

He knew about Gumiho’s existence even more than Gumiho herself. It was as if... he were a deity disguising himself as a human.

"Oh, I learned this technique from the immortal cave that I told you about," Maximilian lied with a straight face.

Gumiho gave him a silent stare for a few seconds before turning her focus outside the window again.

The world from such a height seemed even more beautiful now. The weather was clear, allowing her to take in the scenery without obstruction.

The large Deer Clan that she had only heard about seemed tiny from there. The city looked like a group of fireflies in the dark night.

Green, uneven terrain, crystal-clear rivers flowing through them, reflecting the sky filled with endless stars, and the heavenly mountains they were slowly approaching left Gumiho completely enchanted by the scenery.

The world was reflected within her pearl-like pink eyes. She hadn’t even realized that her Soulforce had been increasing for a while now, and her three tails had unfurled behind her.

’Just as I thought,’ Maximilian murmured inwardly, his lips rising into a faint smile. ’This is the cultivation method for Gumiho.’
