Return of the Celestial King
Chapter 485: A Terrifying Guess
The more Hong Yuanzheng thought about it, the angrier he became. Seeing his grandson suffering like this, he could no longer contain his rage.
No matter how good his temperament or self-control, he was now on the verge of erupting.
Hong Yuanzheng summoned several servants and said coldly,
"Throw these two out!"
His meaning was crystal clear: he wanted Kong Lianqing and Qin Tuo gone, lest they continue to disturb Qi Wuqi's treatment.
Hearing this, Qi Wuqi and Wu Qihao exchanged a glance, a triumphant look in their eyes.
They were both waiting to see Qin Tuo made a fool of. After all, the kid had been reckless enough to oppose them.
Kong Lianqing grew anxious and quickly tried to explain with an apologetic smile,
"Teacher, please don't be angry. Qin Tuo didn't mean it, right?"
As he spoke, he shot meaningful glances at Qin Tuo.
Qin Tuo, however, just shook his head and sighed internally.
'Why is it so hard to tell the truth?'
Seeing Qin Tuo's fearless expression, devoid of any reverence, made Hong Yuanzheng even more furious.
He pointed at Qin Tuo's nose and snapped,
"Young man, I was kind enough to let you stay and observe, but not only did you not take it seriously, you deliberately caused trouble! You're not welcome here. Get out!"
With a wave of his hand, it was clear he had made up his mind to drive Qin Tuo away.
In Hong Yuanzheng's eyes, someone as young as Qin Tuo was definitely unreliable.
Therefore, this matter had to be left to Qi Wuqi.
Qi Wuqi was inwardly ecstatic. His gaze toward Qin Tuo was filled with gloating satisfaction.
Seeing that Hong Yuanzheng was incandescent with rage, Kong Lianqing knew further persuasion was useless.
So, he could only force a bitter, embarrassed smile.
"Teacher, please calm down. We'll leave now."
Qin Tuo stood up directly and said nonchalantly,
"Let's go. But I'll be waiting outside. And I believe that in ten minutes, you'll be back to invite me in."
This last part was clearly directed at Hong Yuanzheng.
After speaking, Qin Tuo flicked his sleeves and left the room.
Hong Yuanzheng was stunned. He never imagined Qin Tuo would have the audacity to speak to him in such a tone.
He let out a heavy, cold snort, feeling even more certain of his judgment. This young man was indeed unreliable.
Seeing Qin Tuo speak so brazenly to his teacher, Kong Lianqing was mortified.
Without a second thought, he hurried out after Qin Tuo.
However, Qin Tuo had no intention of leaving. Instead, he began to stroll casually around the outer courtyard.
He was utterly convinced that Hong Yuanzheng would personally come and ask him to resume the treatment.
By now, Kong Lianqing had caught up to him. He opened his mouth to speak but then hesitated.
Seeing Qin Tuo's devil-may-care attitude, he didn't know whether to laugh or cry, at a complete loss for words.
Qin Tuo ignored Kong Lianqing and continued his leisurely stroll around the courtyard.
Gradually, Qin Tuo noticed that the Hong Family's courtyard held a certain mystique. The Feng Shui arrangement and other details had clearly been overseen by an expert.
In Qin Tuo's eyes, although the layout had some flaws, reaching this level of skill was quite impressive.
This also showed that Hong Yuanzheng was a man of exceptionally high status; otherwise, he couldn't have commissioned a master of this caliber to meticulously design his courtyard.
Seeing Qin Tuo unhurriedly admiring the courtyard, Kong Lianqing became frantic and quickly said,
"Mr. Qin, it's not a good idea to linger here. We should hurry and leave. When my teacher gets angry, it can get really intense!"
The mere thought of Hong Yuanzheng's terrifying rage in the past made Kong Lianqing tremble with fear.
But Qin Tuo wasn't afraid at all. He said casually,
"What's the rush? I'm still waiting for your teacher to come invite me back!"
At these words, Kong Lianqing froze.
When he heard Qin Tuo say this in the room earlier, he had assumed Qin Tuo was just joking or speaking out of anger.
But for Qin Tuo to say it again now… clearly, he was serious!
If it had been anyone else, Kong Lianqing would have lost his temper by now.
But because it was Qin Tuo, Kong Lianqing managed to remain surprisingly patient.
Seeing Qin Tuo's confident demeanor, Kong Lianqing couldn't help but frown and ask,
"Mr. Qin, why are you so sure of yourself?"
In his opinion, although Qin Tuo was personally very powerful, his medical skills weren't necessarily superior to Qi Wuqi's.
Qin Tuo smiled and said,
"The reason is simple. That so-called master hasn't seen the real problem at all. He only sees the surface, but he doesn't understand the true cause of the illness."
After he said this, Kong Lianqing fell into deep thought, silent for a long moment.
Qin Tuo then asked slowly,
"Pavilion Master Kong, do you know why Hong Kai was afflicted with this kind of Gu art?"
The question made Kong Lianqing's heart leap into his throat.
All this time, everyone had only been concerned with Hong Kai's condition, trying to awaken him from his coma.
But very few had carefully considered the question: where did this Gu art come from?
As Hong Yuanzheng's treasured grandson, Hong Kai was always surrounded by a large contingent of bodyguards wherever he went.
Under such circumstances, who would have had the opportunity to use such a vicious Gu art?
The question itself demanded deep contemplation.
Now that Qin Tuo brought it up, the more Kong Lianqing thought about it, the more terrified he became. A cold sweat unknowingly broke out on his back.
So, Kong Lianqing quickly pressed,
"Mr. Qin, why is that?"
Kong Lianqing guessed that Qin Tuo must have already discovered some clues about the truth.
Qin Tuo took a deep breath and said in a grave tone,
"Because… someone wants to control him. Or perhaps, even replace him!"
This earth-shattering statement struck Kong Lianqing like a bolt of lightning, his face turning deathly pale.
He stammered, his mouth agape, but was unable to form a complete sentence.
The amount of information contained in Qin Tuo's words was simply too vast and too shocking.
Qin Tuo let out a cold snort and continued,
"Just imagine, with Elder Hong's power and status, what a terrifying thing it would be if someone were to silently replace his grandson one day!"
After he finished speaking, Kong Lianqing's eyes widened, his face a mask of horror that he couldn't shake for a long time.
