Return of the Celestial King
Chapter 472: A Coin
After all, as the heads of major families, these people were no fools. They immediately spotted some holes in Qin Tuo’s claims.
Thus, the fervor of many who had been blindly calling out bids gradually subsided. They decided to wait for an explanation.
Seeing how the scene was unfolding, Wu Qihao grew anxious and quickly shot Qi Wuqi a meaningful look.
Qi Wuqi nodded slightly, then turned to Qin Tuo and sneered.
"Young man, since you refuse to believe, I’ll show you today just how foolish and ignorant you truly are!"
With that said, he wasted no more words. He formed a hand seal with one hand, conjuring a hazy aura.
A golden light then burst from between his fingers, swiftly crossing more than ten meters to strike the Compass!
The entire venue instantly erupted in an uproar. Everyone stared with tense expressions, not daring to even blink.
Qin Tuo, however, remained seated, a mocking expression on his face, as if he were watching a clown perform.
Before the eyes of the entire audience, the Compass began to tremble slowly.
Then, someone cried out in shock. Golden Talismans rose from the Compass, hovering in the air and illuminating the entire stage!
"Heavens, this... this is... It really is a top-grade Dharma Artifact!"
Someone instantly cried out, unable to contain their excitement.
At that moment, an aura of the Laws of Heaven and Earth swirled from the stage and filled the entire venue, leaving everyone breathless with amazement.
"A miracle! This is truly a miracle!"
"Yeah, to claim such an incredible treasure isn’t a Dharma Artifact... How ridiculous!"
Instantly, everyone looked at Qin Tuo with renewed and profound contempt.
Those who had been swayed and started to have doubts were now firm in their conviction; they all believed Qin Tuo was just being a pest.
How could such an incredible treasure possibly be a worthless piece of wood?
In the crowd below, the eyes of everyone from the Liu Family gleamed. They stared intently at the Compass, not even blinking.
Liu Zhenghai, in particular, had already made up his mind. No matter the cost, he would win this Dharma Artifact at auction. He would use it as his family’s heirloom to boost their fortune.
On the Zhu Family’s side, everyone was filled with longing as well.
Zhu Guirong’s face was a mask of anticipation. He too was fully prepared to bid on and purchase this Dharma Artifact.
All the influential figures in the venue had silently made their decisions, preparing to risk all their assets and go all-in.
In any case, a Dharma Artifact this powerful was a rare sight. If they missed this opportunity, who knew how long they’d have to wait for another.
Seeing the crowd’s reaction, Wu Qihao stood on the stage, smiling to himself in triumph.
’He knew that now, there was absolutely no doubt left in anyone’s mind!’
Qi Wuqi slowly withdrew his hand, equally satisfied with the audience’s reaction.
Then, he turned back to Qin Tuo and asked with a mocking expression:
"Young man, are you convinced now that this Compass is a genuine Dharma Artifact?"
He said this with a shake of his head and a cold smile, his eyes dripping with scorn.
At this, the surrounding crowd could no longer hold back and launched another verbal assault on Qin Tuo.
"Shut up, kid! The master himself has given a demonstration. What more can you possibly have to say!"
"Exactly! I don’t know who let this damn brat in, but I can’t stand him spouting all this nonsense."
Many others also seized the opportunity to flatter and suck up to Qi Wuqi.
"A master is truly a master! Worthy of the title of Bay Port’s number one Warlock. Your methods are simply divine!"
"Yes, Master, please don’t lower yourself to his level. It’s not worth harming your health over this brat!"
Seeing their sycophantic behavior, Qin Tuo felt nauseated.
However, he suppressed the feeling of disgust, smiled faintly, and said with perfect composure:
"If your Compass is a Dharma Artifact, then this thing of mine can be one too."
As soon as he finished speaking, under the puzzled gazes of the crowd, Qin Tuo pulled an ordinary coin from his pocket.
Everyone looked utterly confused, not understanding what Qin Tuo meant.
’And what on earth did he plan to do with a simple coin?’
Even Qi Wuqi couldn’t discern Qin Tuo’s motive.
Just as the crowd was about to ask, Qin Tuo suddenly tossed the coin into the air.
The coin flew into the air, slowly beginning to spin...
A glint flashed in Qin Tuo’s eyes as he casually struck it with a small Flame Array, which flew into the coin.
For an ordinary magic practitioner, creating such a small Array would be somewhat difficult.
To improvise and create one on the spot would be even more so.
But for Qin Tuo, creating one at will posed no great difficulty.
Everyone saw only a brief flash of light before their gazes became fixed on the coin, leaving them speechless.
Before their very eyes, the coin suddenly burst with fiery light!
For a moment, everyone was startled.
But the fiery light vanished as quickly as it had appeared.
Seeing this, many people patted their chests and breathed a sigh of relief.
Some even began to laugh out loud in mockery.
"Kid, was that supposed to be a magic trick? Are you taking us all for fools?"
"Exactly! It’s just a cheap magic trick. Nothing impressive. How ridiculous, putting on a big mysterious show!"
Nearby, Zhu Guirong and the others all lowered their heads, filled with shame.
They too thought Qin Tuo had used a simple Blinding Technique, but had the misfortune of being seen through by everyone.
Qin Tuo paid no mind to their doubts and mockery.
His eyes were fixed on Qi Wuqi on the stage as he asked coldly:
"Master, I’d like to ask you, does my coin count as a Dharma Artifact?"
In response to Qin Tuo’s question, Qi Wuqi just sneered without saying a word.
He simply made a gesture with his hand, and an invisible force wrapped around the airborne coin, pulling it toward him.
Qi Wuqi lowered his head and slowly examined the coin.
However, after just one glance, cold sweat began to pour down his forehead, and his eyes filled with utter shock.
Qi Wuqi couldn’t help but look up, staring at Qin Tuo in utter disbelief.
