Chapter 459: Tickets

Jiang Wanyu's two roommates were dressed gaudily, looking like a pair of edgy try-hards.

After waiting for a while longer, they were starting to lose their patience.

One of the girls complained, her face full of resentment:

"Wanyu, what's going on? Are you going to get the tickets or not? You didn't just lie to us, did you?"

The other girl nodded in agreement, her expression clouded with doubt.

"Yeah, the concert is about to start. We only came with you because you promised you could get us tickets. You're not just messing with us, are you?"

With that, both girls stared suspiciously at Jiang Wanyu.

Jiang Wanyu grew anxious. She quickly waved her hands and said earnestly:

"Don't worry, that's not it. My cousin is very capable. If he promised he could get tickets, he'll definitely come through."

But as she said this, she glanced at the time, a knot of uncertainty tightening in her stomach.

'Cousin,' Jiang Wanyu thought, 'you're not actually going to stand me up, are you?'

Hearing Jiang Wanyu's reassurance, the two girls stopped pressuring her for the time being.

Another ten minutes passed. The crowd at the stadium had grown even larger, and many people were already heading inside to wait for the concert to begin.

Her two roommates finally lost their patience. One of them sneered coldly.

"Jiang Wanyu, we trusted you, and you just lied to us!"

The other nodded and scoffed, "Yeah. If your cousin is so capable, why hasn't he brought the tickets over yet? The concert's about to start."

Jiang Wanyu was at a loss for words. She quickly pulled out her phone to call Qin Tuo.

But she tried several times, only to find his phone was turned off.

Now Jiang Wanyu was really stuck. Her face fell, and she had no idea what to do.

"See? It looks like your cousin is ignoring you. And you expect us to believe he's bringing tickets? Yeah, right."

The two roommates' faces were etched with disappointment.

They had been overjoyed, thinking Jiang Wanyu could get them tickets to the concert. They never imagined that with the show about to start, the three of them wouldn't even be able to get through the gate.

All Jiang Wanyu could do was apologize profusely, her face burning with shame.

Just then, a few delinquent-looking boys, around seventeen or eighteen years old, sauntered over from a distance.

Seeing three girls who clearly didn't have tickets, a mocking glint appeared in their eyes.

The leader, a boy with an earring, stepped forward with a grin and asked:

"What's wrong? You three little ladies couldn't get tickets?"

Jiang Wanyu's face flushed with embarrassment. Her two roommates, pouting angrily, said nothing.

The boy with the earring continued to smile.

"No tickets? No problem. Your big bro here has plenty. How about I give you a few?"

At these words, Jiang Wanyu's eyes widened in surprise. Her two roommates, however, instantly went from pouting to beaming, nodding eagerly.

To them, this was a gift from the heavens, and it saved them from further embarrassment.

Many students from their own school had already gone inside for the concert, and being seen by acquaintances stuck outside without tickets would be incredibly humiliating.

But in the next moment, the boy with the earring suddenly gave them a suggestive smile and said:

"But, as you know, these tickets are very valuable. I can't just give them to you for free..."

Hearing this, Jiang Wanyu immediately became more cautious, sensing something was wrong.

Her two roommates, however, seemed completely oblivious. They nodded and smiled.

"Of course. Just tell us your conditions. As long as you give us the tickets, it's fine."

The boy with the earring nodded and laughed loudly.

"Great. In that case, how about you three hang out and have some fun with us, and I'll give you the tickets?"

Jiang Wanyu was horrified. She couldn't believe they could be so shameless.

It was obvious the boy with the earring was using the tickets as a pretext to take advantage of them!

So, Jiang Wanyu immediately shook her head and refused on the spot.

"Sorry, but I don't want your tickets!"

The boy's face darkened. He said coldly:

"Without tickets, you can't get in to see the concert. I suggest you think carefully."

Jiang Wanyu didn't hesitate for a second, retorting loudly:

"You can keep your tickets for yourself. We would never agree to such a shameless demand."

The group of thuggish boys beside him started whistling, their lewd and shameless behavior making Jiang Wanyu's brow furrow in deep discomfort.

Seeing her reaction, the boy with the earring flew into a rage out of humiliation.

"Hmph, you stupid girl! You don't know what's good for you. Do you have any idea how many people would kill for this ticket, and you dare to refuse!"

But Jiang Wanyu just said coldly:

"Of course the tickets are important, but I would never sell my dignity for one!"

With that, she prepared to leave.

But to her surprise, her two roommates suddenly spoke up.

"Fine, we agree to your terms! Just give us the tickets!"

Hearing this, Jiang Wanyu couldn't believe her ears. Her face was a mask of disbelief.

She never thought her own roommates would be willing to sell their bodies for a couple of mere tickets!

The boy with the earring was overjoyed. He had thought these two girls would be as principled as Jiang Wanyu.

"Haha, excellent! You two are the smart ones!"

His cronies swarmed forward, their eyes fixed on the two girls with undisguised, greedy desire.

Jiang Wanyu's face filled with disappointment. She never knew her roommates were this kind of people.

But at that moment, the two girls turned on Jiang Wanyu, their words dripping with sarcasm.

"Jiang Wanyu, stop acting so pure. It's not like you're some saint!"

"Exactly! You don't have some super-capable cousin! You just lied and made us wait here like idiots. You're lucky we didn't curse you out."

A storm of complex emotions washed over Jiang Wanyu. The injustice was so hard to bear that she was on the verge of tears.

Seeing her two roommates about to leave with the boy with the earring, Jiang Wanyu panicked.

She felt that selling your body for a couple of tickets was just too shameless, that it crossed a fundamental line!

So, she rushed forward, wanting to pull her roommates back from the brink.

"Don't go with him! I can figure something else out for the tickets! Don't do something stupid!"

Jiang Wanyu pleaded desperately.
