Retired: Nice Guy. HAREM SYSTEM UNLOCKED
Chapter 54. YOU ARE A MOMSTER!
Chapter 54: 54. YOU ARE A MOMSTER!
Two creatures with nothing but hatred for each other were forced closer together by the pressure of the air on their bodies. Cleaving together, me and Mandrisska were at the mercy of the polearm. We had no clue when it would lose its momentum.
I thought those were our roles, but Mandrisska made it clear she’d never been part of any play from the beginning. So what if she couldn’t use her wings because of human interference? She wouldn’t back down.
She chose a backward headbutt to hit my forehead, which ended up hitting my nose and stunning me. But it seemed to be a distraction, she wanted me to be stunned so her head claw could rip apart my beautiful head.
Unfortunately for her, because I was stunned, my hands naturally loosened, lowering my body, and I dodged her claw without even trying.
How funny is that? Laugh now, you nerds!
"Seriously? You want to fight in the middle of a flight?"
"Human, I play by nature’s rules!! Humans are nothing to me. You don’t deserve a fair fight."
Mandrisska’s compound pupils overstimulated in pleasure as she counted the only hit that had landed, smirking with her tongue sticking out.
Well, she was right. There was no reason not to fight mid-air. There was no referee here. Besides, this was the perfect time to end it, or put me, us, through it.
I looked at my pulsing, bleeding hands, too weak to do anything, but quitting wasn’t an option. This would hurt like a bitch, but I had to do it.
Not letting the air pressure control everything, I leaped off my fate and grasped the shell covering Mandrisska’s ear. She noticed the touch and her right claw acted.
Gathering all my strength, I pulled with everything I had, and another set of pain signals traveled from my hands to my brain. This continued until the signals stopped and I felt a sharp cut.
Mandrisska extended her claw to cut my hand, not completely, since it was by her shoulder and reaching it with tight joints wasn’t easy. Same as trying to cut a band on your hand with backward-facing scissors, using the same hand. I doubt anyone would try it.
"Give up, human. Why can’t you see the difference between us? When we were at the bottom, you sure had your fun. Now that roles are fliped, you don’t want to play?"
Mandrisska shouted, maliciously, at me with no shame, just as she intended. She thought she was making a mockery of me, sure, my wrists were in her claws, and I was pulling the shell with two fatal injuries to my hands.
Behind her malice, she failed to understand that mockery is only cool when you have your opponent cornered, which wasn’t this situation. I still had power, and a malicious smirk appeared on my face as I remembered something.
I don’t want to go into the science and find out whether it’s true or not. But I’d heard a fact that you can bite off your own finger like a carrot, but your brain prevents you from doing it.
How about we put it to the test!
Instead of holding the shell, which hadn’t budged a centimeter after all my efforts, I grabbed her claw with my other hand, which still had some life in it. That prevented her from making another move at me, but it cost me more pain.
Doesn’t matter. I could smell victory!
Opening my mouth wide like a snake on a mouse, taking in as much area as I could, using every bit of strength I had left, I bit her.
"AHHHHHHH!!!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!"
Mandrisska’s malice was overpowered by mine. Because I had something she would never have: the ability to choose the path with the most risk.
My teeth dug into her flesh, breaking through her shell, rupturing the flesh and digging deeper.
In panic, Mandrisska spammed her vibration void. It did affect me, but only a little bit, because now I was level 25. Plus she was losing control and showing inconsistency every other second.
"STOP!! IT HURTS, IT HURTS!! YOU WIN, YOU WIN!!"
I won? Just like that? No. If the roles were reversed, she would have finished me without any sympathy. Besides, sympathy toward the guilty is an injustice to the weak.
That being said, my teeth were stuck in the middle, her bone was broken but somehow got in the way, and my teeth couldn’t move down or come out. Guess I had to rip apart the entire chunk.
"..."
? Holy mother... ?
Flexing my neck muscles, I hauled my head upward and sideways. Her fibers ripped apart, bones broke like old rotten wood, nerves stretched until they popped out. And just like that, I peeled off a chunk of her face, along with one of her head claws still attached to the flesh in my mouth.
I won’t mention the taste, because even I don’t want to remember it. It was disgusting, that’s it.
Both of our eyes rolled up, Mandrisska’s compound pupils reacting to silent agony while mine reacted to overused strength. We were in a state where neither of us could move an inch. Then we collided with a building, breaking a few walls and stopping inside it.
Since I was at her back, my back was wrecked after absorbing the blows. If the polearm hadn’t been there to break the wall first, I would have suffered more. I could still use a potion to heal, no big deal.
I opened my eyes to find dust and broken bricks on top of me, and the disgusting piece of Mandrisska’s meat still stuck inside my mouth.
But where was Mandrisska? I tried to get up and failed. My back wasn’t ready yet. Then the calla lily vines still wrapped around my head and digging into my skin glowed.
I swear I looked like a crucified Jesus right now.
? This is another small reward for making progress. In 5 days you’ve exceeded my expectations by far. See for yourself. ?
The panel appeared as Lilathea healed me, my eyes realizing they could properly open since pain was no longer a factor.
? Mark Laplace & Seraphine Vale vs. Mandrisska concluded! ?
? Mark Laplace & Seraphine Vale are the WINNERS!!! ?
? Calculating the Casllay mana points.... ?
? 7000 Casllay mana points earned! ?
? Total Casllay: 7010. ?
? WARNING!! Earn more Casllay! ?
? Lifespan remaining: 1 hour 20 minutes. ?
? The system pays well when the fight is brutal and you dominate it. And in front of an opponent with a higher caliber? The reward is better than having sex. But it’s not like you’ll continuously fight opponents this powerful. ?
That much was true. I smiled warmly at my fate, with a chunk of meat in my mouth, of course. I still had to break my back and the bed to earn Casllay. The system is brutal, man.
Once fully healed, I got up and turned around to see Mandrisska dragging herself away from me, leaving a bad blood stain on the bricks. Her head was half eaten and her movement so weak she’d only managed to go a few meters. Plus there was a dead end where she was headed.
"You still didn’t die?" I said, removing the chunk of meat.
"AHWGF!!!"
? You do realize hitting a weak point and removing the weak point are two different things. ?
Mandrisska yelped in fear, turning around on impulse and dragging her trembling legs until she hit the wall. Her tears mixed with sweat and blood until she couldn’t tell which was which. All her pride was gone, and she was just a scared little insect now.
"You’re a monster!"
"YOU ARE A MONSTER! HUMANS ARE MONSTERS!"
"Your kind is cursed... It’s... always the weak who suffer... Now you’re going to kill me like any other human."
Mandrisska sobbed, tears overpowering her eyes, her mouth open until it was ugly and sad, nasal mucus thickening around her lip.
I spat out the remaining contents of her flesh, brain matter, and blood from my mouth, almost throwing up.
"That’s how society works. And I’m afraid you’ve fallen for it."
At my words, Mandrisska covered herself with every claw she fought with, shrinking her body size, hiding in plain sight.
"What are you scared of, that I overcame you? You’re such a hypocrite. You say we’re cursed? Look at you..."
I stepped closer, laughing because I’d heard a very funny joke. Mandrisska tried to make herself smaller than she could. Fear was taking away every fiber of her being.
"You’re cursed too. What was the first thing on your mind when you reclaimed dominance? Attack innocent children? Just because their ancestors were evil, you thought every last one of them was too."
Mandrisska’s eyes widened, her breathing dropping to zero for a moment as she experienced ontological terror for the very first time.
Closing the distance between her face and mine, I reached her ear and told her the reality of her true self.
"You are the very proof that if your kind ruled, you would do the same to other species as well. You’ve become the very thing you were disgusted by. Two predators shouldn’t argue over which one is kinder, don’t you think? And if we’re comparing them, your kind lives on others, you can’t live without a host."
I stepped back, feeling that was enough. Everything she’d done hit her at once: she’d taken control of an innocent girl, tried to kill multiple kids who had their entire futures ahead of them.
I threw the piece of flesh in front of her, the claw still attached to it. It hit the ground quietly, yet it was far louder than Mandrisska could endure. She looked up at me, senseless, as her whole ideology turned out to be a lie.
"You want to kill the cursed one, right? You are cursed. Go ahead."
