Retired: Nice Guy. HAREM SYSTEM UNLOCKED
Chapter 51. Child with a new toy
Chapter 51: 51. Child with a new toy
? Lilathea’s Blade Harem System! ?
? Evolution state: Mortal human. ?
? Rank: E. ?
? Compatibility rate: 34. ?
? Casllay mana points: 0. ?
? Lifespan remaining: 2 hours 15 minutes. ?
So Casllay is set to zero, huh? That’s a good thing. Better than negative.
"Let’s go."
I jumped with less force, and the controlled force let me jump lower and not end up like a missile this time. Before long I got comfortable with the speed and footing.
It didn’t take long, a few jumps and I was out of the artificial habitat. From there, an itch developed inside me: how fast could I actually run?
I let my intrusive thought win and used full force moving forward. My shoes ripped and fell behind after a few steps. The stupidly long corridors in the second stage let me test my real speed.
My bare feet struck the ground so hard they left heat marks on the cold bricks of the dungeon. I couldn’t tell how many individual bricks I was leaving behind in a second.
Normally this kind of speed would put strain on your body, your lungs would scream, your calf muscles would beg you to stop. But it was doing nothing to me. I bet I could go faster, so I did.
Faster. Faster. Faster.
My feet moved quicker and quicker, so fast that at one moment one leg accidentally pushed further than intended. This led to a mismatched step, and I tripped hard.
Suddenly every brick became clear when I lost control, then became unreadable because the momentum of my body slammed me into the wall.
? What did I say about being careful? For heaven’s sake, don’t act cocky. You are like a child with a new toy. Don’t break it. ?
"I apologize."
Good thing all my stats are maxed. Bumping into a wall at the speed of a sports car, I’m assuming, did no damage to my body, it just felt like a woman’s slap, and it left a human-shaped crater in the wall.
Picking myself up from the ground, I dusted off my pants. Then I found my shirt had ripped apart and only one sleeve was left. So I got rid of that last sleeve as well.
"Wait, I was stuck in a wall. Why is the wall on the bottom? Ohh shit, this again?"
It took a while to click. I must have stepped on a trap and not noticed because I was moving so fast. And now the gravity was flipped sideways.
"I don’t want to play the platformer again. Although it’ll be pretty easy with my new stats."
Moving like a wild monkey was the way out, and I was about to turn myself into one, but then I heard a scream, a familiar one. It was sharp, hitting the eardrums at all the wrong points, thoroughly unpleasant, and more importantly, the scream meant unresolved business.
I turned around and found a disgusting face with red eyes, six limbs with hair and rotten flesh loosely wrapped around the bones. The jaw was badly out of place, but it didn’t stop the undead creature from screaming again.
"Did you just respawn? That’s unfair."
? I’m losing a lot of context here. I want to explain all this later, in the form of a bedtime story. Got it? ?
I nodded, and the undead creature approached me at a speed that was now beneath me. I was about to run, but my Perception was at max.
I saw the creature’s movements in frames, which made it slow, a lot slower than I remembered. And it allowed me to predict the next movement of each individual limb.
That gave me confidence and reminded me I wasn’t a weakling anymore. I could take this messy creature in a fight.
I did see panel shifting in the Conner of my eyes but I didn’t turn on purpose.
While the undead creature approached, I dashed toward it, stopping under one of its limbs. My sudden closing of distance stunned it for a second. Its whole red eye had a delay in tracking me.
At that moment, it was rethinking fighting me, I saw it in its limbs, they stopped, and now, shifting my prediction, it would move backward.
But I didn’t let it. I grabbed a limb, not holding back on my grip. My thumb and fingers dug into its rotten flesh as easily as if it were play slime. The hard bone broke with some resistance. Midway through, I felt so strong I thought maybe I could just yank off its limb if I tried.
So I did try, I pulled the limb and it broke from the joint at the main body. I was so in the moment, I didn’t realize it could fight back. I felt breath on my shoulder, the undead creature had already made its move, in a second it would rip my shoulder apart with its bad-breath mouth.
But I noticed it in time, and in fear I dashed forward, escaping its grasp. Midway, I grabbed another limb, plucking it from the main body, and got behind it.
Then the undead creature screamed, this time in fear. In pain, it somehow moved, not toward me, but away.
"Ahshagsgsgsggssfffsfsf!!!!!"
"You came at me like you had unfinished business. What happened? Suddenly don’t want to fight, huh?"
I smiled, holding two disgusting broken limbs, and threw them on the floor, but rotten flesh and blood were now sticking to my hands.
"Wow, my hands are dirty now. Ah, let’s just finish this as quickly as possible."
The undead creature was a safe distance from me, keeping an eye on me. And it was on the defensive. It did know what my actual speed was now, nor anything else. I was a completely new enemy to it.
I dashed forward, even faster, more than its eyes could follow. Going under its main body, I grabbed another two limbs, this time I didn’t even need to pluck them. Because I’m terrible at controlling my new powers, the speed and grip alone plucked them from its body.
And I accelerated behind the undead creature. Now with only two limbs, its higher body weight made it lose balance and its face landed on the brick floor, the loose jaw completely separated from its face. It screamed in horror while crawling away from me.
"I do get why you are here. Living like a trap. But if the roles were reversed, you might have finished me. So I shouldn’t leave you alive. But then again, I don’t know how to kill..."
The undead creature surely didn’t understand what I was saying, I don’t know why I was talking at all. Wasting time again!
I couldn’t decide what to do with the undead creature now that it was in a state of fear and crawling away from me. Well, I dashed forward and plucked off its remaining two limbs. The undead creature could only bleed and scream. With no limbs, all it could do was lie there like a piece of living rotten flesh.
? 10 Casllay gained from this fight. ?
? You look like a monster when you fight. Good. I like that. Wish you were like this in bed as well. ?
Ten Casllay is one thing. But Lilathea being horny and freaky all the time suddenly made sense now that I knew she was the goddess of lust.
"I’ll take that as a compliment."
The gravity shifted back to normal and I caught myself on the ground. The funny shift in gravity wasn’t an issue anymore, because I could fight.
Putting that aside, I sprinted through the corridor and found my way out of the second stage. In the first stage I kept circling around the maze for about 5 minutes before I accidentally found another exit.
A different one, a metal trapdoor in the ceiling. Opening it, I saw bricks loosely cemented together, air passing through the cracks. So I punched my way through. There were several layers of them, each harder than the last.
At my last punch, the bricks broke, falling below, and outside wind flowed in with sunlight. My skin reacted to the touch of the sunlight. Finally, after several hours, I was out of this disgusting place.
Climbing out, I found myself on the roof of a building in the Greyclock Conservatory. Before I could breathe fresh air, I heard screams, walls breaking, and sensed the eeriness behind me.
Turning around, I could see the inner structure of the Greyclock Conservatory. The area I was in was empty, but five blocks away, students were running, trying to evacuate the buildings as Sylvbeetles chased them, blocking their path.
Oh no. Where is Rue? Mossley? Lior? Are they safe? Where is Sister Maren? She should help them.
As soon as I said that, someone shot a burning ice arrow at the Sylvbeetles, freezing a large pack of them.
"Run the other way. Use the stairs behind the bathhouse!!!"
Sister Maren’s voice echoed loud enough to reach my ears clearly. And the students didn’t dare disobey. From far away I saw five moon-blue fire candle holders held together by a chain, and in the middle of them, she was flying like the holy nun she is.
Alright, let’s find where Seraphine and Mandrisska are. Sister Maren will handle saving the students. Maybe she’ll join after she’s done with the Sylvbeetles.
