Chapter 1212: Ch 1212: Unpleasant Surprise in the Last Floor

One of the thin and fast zombies immediately targeted Tatsumi as she was the most threatening person present in this battlefield. And this special zombie tried to use its incredible speed to reach her as soon as possible.

But before it could reach her, what reached the zombie was a sword. And just like all the previous common zombies, as soon as the sword reached it, this rare zombie was also unable to put up any resistance and died immediately.

As for the other fast one, it was targeting Raphaela. The previous fast zombie was rank 8 but this one was rank 7. That was why it was going after Raphaela whose rank was lower.

And this time, Raphaela’s two brave nightly partners came forward to protect her. Kashimo used his large body structure and massive high quality shield to completely cover her while Nakamura sent a huge amount of sticky bugs to slow this zombie down.

And this strategy was super effective. As soon as the fast zombie became slower, Kashimo used his shield to pin it on the ground. And then Raphaela finished it off with her offensive light magic.

And finally for the last remaining monster, Shin took it on alone. He went forward with a sword and slashed ar the large zombie. For this attack, he was only using one star soul to boost his attack and another one to boost his damage. That was all.

So by his standard, it was a relatively weak attack. And just as he had expected, this was able to only leave a shallow cut on the body of the large zombie.

Seeing this, as Shin was getting ready to increase the intensity of his attacks, he noticed that the recent injury that he had dealt had already disappeared and had healed completed.

So it looked like not only this large zombie had a lot of vitality, it was also capable of regeneration. So even if this was not a dangerous opponent, it was definitely a very troublesome and time consuming one.

As an undead, this zombie was supposed to be immune to poison. But that was true for only regular poisons.

What the snake had injected in it was flesh melting poison which was extremely potent and became stronger the longer it stayed inside someone’s body.

So this was the best counter for this zombie.

The more it healed, the stronger the poison would become. Then there would come a time when the static healing would not be able to keep up with the poison damage.

This was the reason why this snake was considered to be a trump card by Shin. If someone did not have a way to get rid of the poison itself completely, this attack was a perfect game ender.

And now that he was going all out already, Shin decided to take care of the endless zombie horde too. There was a reason why he was the leader of this party even though he could not confidently say that he was the strongest.

So he brought out two more star souls. One was that of an three headed ape and it went to support Tatsumi and boost the power of her magic.

On the other hand, the second soul was that of a unrecognisable being with countless tentacles. And this beast gave Shin the ability to shoot thousands of decently powerful light beams at the same time. So it definitely was the best possible way to clear the zombie horde.

And with the power boost that Tatsumi got, she also started to use more and more powerful spells like True Flare, Vermillion Nova and such. So this way, even with Shin killing close to a thousand zombie every second, Tatsumi firmly held onto the the number 1 position without any trouble.

And just like that, soon the endless zombie horde came to an end. It turned out that the horde was not actually endless but had a million total Zombies. That was why it was feeling like endless.

And the end, two more rare zombies had appeared who were able to withstand the killing combo of the light beam and fire spells. But even before Shin and Tatsumi could properly see what kind of zombie it was, a very frustrated Shuzu had cut both of them down in a blink of an eye.

So this was how the third underground floor was cleared. And now it was time for all of them to go down to the next floor that was the final one.

As the final floor was supposed to have the powerful undead dragon, everyone decided that they should rest a little before going to the next and the final under ground floor. All of them needed to be at their peak before facing off against the rotten dragon.

After a decently long break, everyone felt refreshed and healthy. Then in a very high spirit and confidence, they all went down to the fourth and the last floor.

And as soon as everyone stepped foot inside this floor, they heard the roar of the dragon and saw its massive form. But none of them cared about it at the moment.

That was because other than the undead dragon, there as someone else present in this under ground floor. And this figure was a hooded man. But most importantly, this man was giving off a terrifying aura of a rank 10 powerhouse, which was much much stronger than the rank 9 Undead Dragon.

How could a trial selected by Elena be simple. Shin and his party needed to understand this sooner. Now, they suddenly found themselves before a threat that was going to be hard to overcome.
