Chapter 459: Chapter 459

Her said to her and he watched as she nodded her head at him hesitantly. she tried to understand and where he was going with all of it but she found herself un able to do so.

"Well since you know me well enough, tell me when the last time was that you saw me apologize for something that I didn’t do wrong. Tell me honestly if you think I am going to go back in there and apologize to him even though he was the one who had wronged you." He said to her and his tone was slightly raised.

His question was a trick one and she knew that he would never do something like that, she was quick to shake her head at him in response and she watched as he let out a sigh from his lips before he slouched his shoulders slightly.

"You see there you have it the answer to your question. You know for certain that I am not going to apologize and that is why we are going to leave now before he says anything to either of us that will further cause me to become angered and cause me to lash out and say something that I don’t mean. Or at least something that would cause us to fall into all-out war." he said to her in a mutter under his breath.

She gulped at his words before she nodded her head at him. He didn’t give her another moment for her to react before he grabbed her hand and made his way through the restaurant.

He didn’t spare the others a single glance as he weaved his way out of the room and she was left helpless as she was forced or rather dragged by her feet and trail after him.

She could how ever feel the burning gaze of Ronaldo still lingering on her and desperate the fact that she didn’t like the fact that she was the one that had cost them the alliance she was also somewhat relieved that she didn’t have to be in his presence any more. She was glad that she was able to get away from him.

She didn’t know why but simply being around him was something that rubbed off on him the wrong way and she didn’t like that at all.

Zach was stood in the dimly lit hall as he looked towards the people that were around him,

They were some of his closest confidents and he knew that they were the people that he could trust the most more than anything for that matter.

The people around him were like his family and he knew that they were the most important people that were in his life.

They were all silent as they thought over what they were going to do now.

Things had gotten worse and they knew that Zach was in big trouble. if he had been able to secure a deal or at least some form of alliance with the military then they knew that to some extent their problems would be solves.

However that wasn’t what had happened. Instead he had ended up leaving without getting a deal.

This was bad for him as he knew that it meant that the people that were running the government had an avenue now more than ever to come after him. He knew that they could try to take him down and nothing he could do would be able to stop them.

He had to find a way for him to put a stop to it before anything else happened. He had to figure out a way for him to be able to fix all of it.

Despite the fact that he had ended up not gorming the alliance with Ronaldo as he had told them he would none of them blamed him.

Once again he was doing everything that he did in order for him it ensure that the smiths were protected and they couldn’t complain about him doing something like that.

They knew that Brittany didn’t deserve to be treated like that. They knew that she didn’t deserve to have those callous words thrown at her and for her to be treated as though she was an object that they could toss around and treat as they pleased.

Even though if he had kept his mouth shut Brittany would have agreed to go with him they knew that she didn’t deserve that.

The family was one of integrity and they weren’t going to simply sellout one of their own in order for them to be able to make some sort of deal.

Ronaldo was a sick man and the last thing that they needed was for them to secure a deal with someone like him. He had no regard for women and that was why Zach knew that it was a terrible idea for him to even consider forming any type of deal with him.

"So what are we going to do now." One of the men asked as the room fell into silence. That was the big question and it was the very one that had been plaguing Zach’s mind.

It was one that he had been struggling to answer because the truth was that he didn’t know how to.

"We are going to find another way." he said to them.

"But there is no other way. The sure fire way was for his to get the support of the military. They are the ones who would have been able to provide us with the protection that we needed. If we had been able to find a way for us to form an alliance with them then we wouldn’t be having this conversation and well most of our problems would be solved." Bruce said to him in a matter of fact tone.

Zach was aware that there were some of them that were upset that he hadn’t been able to go through with the deal and they were not understanding why he had decided to back out.

"Because he wasn’t worth our time and he insulted one of us. he insulted Brittany and because of. that I do not wish to make a deal with him. I don’t want to make anything with him." Zach roared as his tone was raised towards the end.

"Well now you don’t know what to do and there is a new government official at our door every day. they are always looking for an excuse for them to come in. they have one reason for their intrusion or the other and even though it is clear that they are lying they. come in any eway.do you like the fact that they are barging into our home and acting as though they own the place." Bruce said to Zach.

"Of course not. I am trying to figure out a way for us out of this. If the military had been more civil and had come with more dignity I would have been willing to pay them any amount in order for them to protect us. but that wasn’t the case. I have already had this discussion with you and I need you to forget about the military and try to figure out another way for us to get out of this situation." He said to them.

The room fell into another bout of silence as they began to mutter under their breaths. They didn’t like the orders that he had given and they had thought that they would be able to make things easier for themselves but it was the opposite of that which had happened.

"I would have done it." A small voice called out in the crowd.

The people turned their attention towards the side where Brittany was standing as they turned to look at her with their brows furrowed in confusion.

"what do you mean you would have done it. you would have done what?" Zach asked her.

"I would have slept with the commander if it meant that we would no longer be in trouble and if it meant that I would help us get out of this situation." She said to them firmly.

The people were quiet and Zach couldn’t help but feel upset by her qwords. he knew that she was right and that she would have done it if he had asked but that was the point it shouldn’t even have been an option.

She shouldn’t have ever have to do that in order for her to please them. She had already made more than enough sacrifices for the family and the last thing that they needed was for her to make any more.

The others were quiet as they looked towards Brittany.

They couldn’t believe that she was willing to do that for the smiths.

"It wouldn’t come to that but I think that it is very admirable of you that you would be able to and willing to do that if it came to it. Luckily I know that it wouldn’t come to that." Bruce said to her.

However Zach didn’t like the rtone.in fact he was frustrated by her sudden words.

Maybe the problem was that she was too loyal. She was too willing to do anything that they asked of her.

He didn’t know why he had taken her along with him in the first place. She had done nothing but cause him large amount of trouble and if she wasn’t there then he would have had no trouble securing the deal and most importantly they wouldn’t have been having this conversation right now.
