"It’s amazing, isn’t it? Our leader did that!" Sky bragged.

If there was any doubt then from Delia’s group members, then there was definitely none now. They were more impressed with his ability to repurpose these trees, than when he defeated Becker’s group all by himself.

This was because most of these academic examinees spent their whole lives studying Array Formations. They knew how hard it was to reshape Constructs after they were disabled. But they didn’t know how hard it was to fight four opponents at the same time.

"What’s in the box? What’s in the box?!"

Eren took position near the campfire and put the box on the ground. Behind him, curious heads popped out as they became eager to see what kind of sponsor that the Lindberg family gave their group.

With a satisfying click, Eren pulled up the top lid and revealed the lootbox.

Stacked inside were a bunch of weathered paper scrolls. They glowed slightly with the red hue of R?zoň.

Martial Manuals. A hundred scrolls.

"Martial Manuals!!!"

"I can’t believe the Lindberg family gave us their Martial Manuals!!!"

"We’ve really struck it with a jackpot this time! I wonder what Martial Manual they gave us..."

"Is it their famed [Flame Dash]? Or maybe it’s the [Fervid Flame Armor]. Or it could also be the [Battering Ram’s Horns]"

Eren unfurled the first scroll and looked at the R?zoň symbols imprinted onto the weathered paper.

[Wisp of the Flamebird]

"It’s actually a 7-star Martial Manual!"

"They’re giving us this technique?! Isn’t this one of the most guarded secrets of the Lindberg family?!"

"Yeah... I heard that only their heirs are allowed to learn this technique."

The [Wisp of Flamebird] was a movement art that allowed the cultivator to turn their footsteps into embers. These wisps were very light, and could make the cultivator hover in the air for a little bit during their use of the movement art.

It was a good Martial Manual, Eren had to admit. Cultivators in the Realm of Perdition often used this Martial Manual as their starting point, as it could branch off into different paths in the future.

But Eren didn’t consider it as something he would choose.

Eren also didn’t need to waste this Martial Manual. He already had the technique in his mind. But for the purposes of keeping appearances, Eren stared at the R?zoň symbols in the paper for a minute or so, before it began to turn into ashes.

"What are you all waiting for? Take your pick of Martial Manuals," he said to the rest of them with a smile.

And without further ado, Abe, Henry, and the others began to grab scroll after scroll from the lootbox. They wouldn’t get this chance a second time.

Even Delia and her group members chose to take a Martial Manual for themselves to learn. After all, even if they would spend most of their time behind desks, they still needed to have at least a basic form of protection for themselves.

And soon, everyone went off to their own corner of the camp to practice their own Martial Manuals.

Eren, on the other hand, spent the rest of the day simply refueling the broken sunspores that everyone had gathered today.

All in all, there were about 4820 sunspores in total.

This was already a good reserve for their usage throughout the entirety of the Second Test. And they would also be able to buy anything they wanted in the market without having to worry about light.

And during the night, he spent his rest simply practicing in the Battle Record in his Mind Palace.

Curiously, his battle with Becker and his group wasn’t available. His only sparring partner available was Orman.

Do I only get the Battle Records of opponents I kill?

The implications of this thought were very heavy. But thankfully, he didn’t have to worry about it right now. He was still having trouble defeating Ormann and still lost to him about 6 times out of ten.

There was plenty of learning left for him to do.

The next three days were nothing out of the ordinary. Eren and the group spent the rest of their days simply going about their training, and occasionally venturing out into the tunnels to scout for new Territory.

It looked like they weren’t the only ones going on a slump, as there were no news of other groups conquering new Territories recently as well.

Then, on the fourth day, Abe came back into their camp bloodied and bruised all over.

"Ahh," Abe said, groaning as Sierra applied some salve on his injuries. "What happened?!"

Beside him, Henry was also injured, but not to the grave extent that Abe was.

"We were attacked," Paul said, holding his ribs in pain. "This morning, we went out on a little excursion trying to search for a Territory. But all of a sudden, we were ambushed by ten people coming from the shadows."

"Those bastards... there was no reason for them to do that. We weren’t even fighting for a Territory," Bernadette grumbled.

Eren approached them. "Why did they stop?"

Sierra frowned. "You wanted them to kill Abe and the others?!"

"I don’t know," Paul said. "They just left us alone after we couldn’t fight anymore," said Abe.

It was at this point that Celeste looked at Eren. "It’s a trap," she realized.

"What do you mean?!" Sierra asked.

It was at this point that footsteps echoed at the front of their tunnel. Twenty examinees entered into their camp with smiles on their faces, Reinforcement and weapons ready and in tow.

"They injured Abe and the others so that they would be led right into our camp," Celeste said.

"Oh god," Abe said, in complete despair. "I’m sorry... it’s our fault!"

Eren put his hands on his shoulder. "Don’t worry. This was going to happen sooner or later. That lootbox is a beacon. There’s bound to be some jealous figures who will want that for themselves. Especially after seeing that we’re the ones who had them."

Clearly, these people thought Eren and his group were easy pickings, compared to Magnus or Dantes or any of the other leaders.
