Chapter 1626: Take Out the Tank First in Group Battles

  • Next Chapter

Enduring strong gravity, Su Xiao quickly engaged with Iron Rat. At this moment, he had to deal with this Tank, because the opponent’s gravity ability was truly disgusting. In the gravity field, his speed decreased by at least 60%.

The two sides immediately engaged in close combat. When Su Xiao got within five meters of Iron Rat, he noticed that the gravity was at least several times stronger than before, and there was also an attractive force drawing him toward Iron Rat.

Iron Rat clenched his fists, two Arm Shields appeared, and he glanced at the surrounding situation. From the falling ice shards, he saw his Ranged Contractors.

Seeing this scene, Iron Rat felt half at ease, but in the next moment, his heart almost leaped out of his mouth.

With a clank, the Long Knife slashed onto the Arm Shield, sparks splashed several meters high.

The blade of Dragon Slash cut into the Arm Shield, and Iron Rat was momentarily stunned. These Arm Shields were Legendary Level +11 high-quality armor, bought with a large amount of team funds from the Blood Gate Adventure Group. But with just one slash from Su Xiao, the Arm Shield on his right arm was nearly halfway to being discarded.

Su Xiao gripped the knife with both hands, applying force as the Spirit of Wood clung to his leg, then he delivered a side kick.

Thud!

A shockwave spread out, and the ground around them cracked inch by inch. Under Iron Rat’s feet, as if rooted to the ground, large energy meridians embedded into the ground. As the Main Tank, his retreat resistance was top-notch in the Fourth Tier, so he only staggered back a few steps, bending over to vomit a large mouthful of sour liquid.

At this moment, a large dent appeared on Iron Rat’s side waist, wrapped in armor, his flesh and blood compressed into a lump, yet he felt no pain because his belly was already completely numb.

Su Xiao, having thrown a side kick, didn’t feel good either; it felt as if he kicked a metal pillar, his right leg slightly numb.

Clang, clang, clang…

Slicing marks appeared on Iron Rat’s chest and face; each slash was deep enough to reach the bone. As Iron Rat raised his Arm Shield before him, Su Xiao delivered another side kick from the side.

Seeing Su Xiao prepare for a side kick, Iron Rat was clearly terrified from the previous one and immediately curled up his body.

However, Su Xiao did not actually commit to the kick, instead bringing down the blade.

With another clank, the Long Knife struck the Arm Shield, the front half of the blade broke through. In a very short time, Iron Rat’s Arm Shield had taken at least a dozen slashes from Su Xiao, possibly reducing its durability to zero.

Iron Rat, hidden behind the Arm Shield, had no complaints. As the team’s Main Tank, he wasn’t skilled at dueling, so facing an opponent like Su Xiao who could break shields with every hit, managing to hold on until now was already a testament to his extreme survival ability.

Clearly, Iron Rat, as the Blood Gate’s Main Tank, couldn’t be taken down by Su Xiao in such a short period. Unfortunately, an unfortunate situation arose: a cyan fireball came at Su Xiao, signaling the arrival of the Ranged Contractors.

With a boom, the cyan fireball crashed into Su Xiao’s back; he completely ignored it, instead swinging the blade at Iron Rat, forcing him back two steps. At that moment, Iron Rat wished to say: ‘They’re hitting you, go after them, leave me alone. I’m already about to die.’

The Blood Gate’s Ranged Contractors had arrived, but all with wary expressions, some had bite marks on their hands, and others were holding their sides – clearly Bu Bu’s doing.

With a whoosh, a black shadow leapt out, a Healer in the rear of the team cried out, and the shadow vanished.

This Healer clutched her throat, three deep claw marks visible, courtesy of Bennie in leopard form.

Under the harassing tactics of Bu Bu and Bennie, these Ranged Contractors were frustrated. Although they weren’t in mortal danger, if anyone dared to attack Su Xiao from afar, they risked taking a bite on the arm or side.

Seizing the time Bu Bu created, A Mu charged toward Su Xiao with the Ice Shield in hand, soon covering Su Xiao’s back.

As soon as A Mu arrived, Bu Bu stopped showing itself, limping away to hide behind ice shards, grimacing as it pulled out an arrow stuck in its butt.

Bu Bu threw the arrow in its paw to the ground harshly, puzzled as to why its rear-end was always a target.

The primary target of the Ranged Contractors was evidently Su Xiao, but with A Mu blocking behind him with a door-sized Ice Shield that resembled an ice mountain, Su Xiao was cut off from them.

Seeing this, the Ranged Contractors dispersed completely, leaving the remaining four Melee Contractors to regroup with them, to prevent further ambushes from Bu Bu and Bennie. As for rescuing Iron Rat, those melee fighters weren’t crazy; Iron Rat was already doomed, reinforcing was out of the question.

Thump! Thump!

Su Xiao’s slashes landed one after another on Iron Rat, his Arm Shield long shattered, leaving him only able to shield his head with his hands.

A sickly green arrow shot into Su Xiao’s rear shoulder. He paid no attention to the Contractor who attacked him long-range, slashing at Iron Rat’s neck, the blade deeply embedding into the flesh.

Iron Rat collapsed to the ground with a thud, never imagining he’d be hacked to death face-to-face. That despair-inducing True Damage made it impossible for him to hold on for long.

Su Xiao stepped on Iron Rat’s shoulder, pulling out the Long Knife from his neck, turning to face those Ranged Contractors bombarding him.

He wiped his face clean of blood, and with the disappearance of the gravity field around him, regained his speed, stepping to hide behind A Mu while a bottle of Ancient Secret Medicine appeared in his hand.

A Mu charged through the many Ranged Contractors’ attacks, the continuous booms audible even from a kilometer away.

As every Ranged Contractor focused on the charging A Mu, launching an onslaught, Su Xiao suddenly appeared a few meters in front of them.

Su Xiao’s sudden appearance chilled the Ranged Contractors to the bone. Three bullets came at him in a triangular formation.

Clink, clink, clink…

Sparks flew mid-air, and with a thud, Su Xiao disappeared from where he stood, reappearing before a Magic Class Contractor, the very one who had been launching cyan fireballs.

This Magic Class Contractor pointed his Magic Wand forward, fire waves spreading from him as the center; as for his teammates around, who would care at this point?

Slash.

Silver slashes flickered before this Magic Class Contractor’s eyes, then darkness enveloped him.

Su Xiao charged into the group of six Ranged Contractors, and with his close quarters combat, the outcome for them was predictable.

Slash, slash…

Silver slashes pierced the night, blood splattered, screams rang out incessantly, ending in an ear-splitting explosion, with Su Xiao propelled by the impact, landing to charge straight at a Contractor wielding a Composite Bow with jade-green eyes.

This green-eyed Contractor was quite troublesome; he had shot Su Xiao with three arrows, two of which almost pierced his body through.

Su Xiao rushed toward the green-eyed Contractor, who was clearly no soft eggplant. His Composite Bow quickly transformed into a long staff.

Su Xiao’s first slash severed the long staff of the green-eyed Contractor, the second severed his arm, the third cleaved off his head.

Without a Tank in front, Su Xiao made short work of the Ranged Contractors once up close, much like slicing through fruit. These Ranged Contractors had invested all resources into their attack ability, their self-preservation nowhere near that of a Same Tier rogue Ranged Contractor.

Minutes later, the fight ended, Su Xiao withdrew Dragon Slash from the chest of a Healer, surrounded by several incomplete corpses.

“Cough, cough, cough…”

Su Xiao emitted continuous dry coughs, clearly not lightly injured. The Blood Gate’s Ranged Contractors had pathetic self-preserving abilities, but their attack ability far surpassed those of the Same Tier; you get what you give. In sacrificing survival ability, they gained significant resources to enhance attack ability.

This was why Su Xiao wouldn’t directly face the entire Blood Gate Adventure Group; dealing with 39 Contractors was strenuous enough. If facing more than 50 at once, death would be certain for Su Xiao, unless he activated Demonic Hunt Time.

Su Xiao, Bu Bu, A Mu, and Bennie’s coordination, along with the terrain advantage and surprise assault, prevented concentrated fire first, with Su Xiao’s Cleave power exceeding the Fourth Tier helping annihilate this Extermination Squad. It wasn’t a 1 versus 39, but a 4 versus 39, with A Mu’s battlefield segregation being crucial throughout.
