Chapter 1589: Charge In and Kill
Chapter 1589 -55: Charge In and Kill
The screams within One-Line Sky were not only heard by the witches, but Carmen and the others also heard it clearly. A few old men exchanged glances, roughly guessing what was going on.
The possibility of an insider in the team is very low. Without an insider, there is only one possibility left, the Prophecy Witch.
Obviously, a few years ago, there was no White Witch with prophecy abilities under Mo Yi·Nora, otherwise Carmen wouldn’t have chosen to pass through the Gate of Dawn.
The screams echoed for a moment before dissipating. A fierce wind swept, and as soon as Carmen and the others were about to retreat, about thirty witches came from afar to encircle them. This was clearly a long-laid trap, waiting for Su Xiao and his party to arrive.
The situation was not optimistic, but there was one good news: the witches’ encirclement wasn’t tight. They had planned to encircle from all sides once Su Xiao and others entered One-Line Sky, but who would’ve thought that one of them had already sabotaged the trap before Su Xiao and the others could step in.
“What do we do? Fight our way out from the back?”
The Drunkard glanced around, and although the situation was critical, he remained unusually calm.
“Let’s storm through now; retreating would make passing the Gate of Dawn even harder next time.”
While saying this, Su Xiao took out a few smoke bombs, pulled the rings, and threw them behind to block the sight of those thirty witches.
Upon hearing Su Xiao’s words, Carmen and the others were taken aback. There was a trap ahead, and it seemed Su Xiao intended to throw himself into the net.
The smoke spread quickly. An ice-blue arrow pierced through, but the whip in Carmen’s hand flicked, and the silver light shattered the incoming energy arrow.
“No more hiding, we’re at this point, and Cuchulainn’s suggestion makes sense. If we don’t break through now, entering Mo Yi·Nora’s territory later will be even harder.”
Silver streaks spread across the left cheek of Carmen, and his whip also exuded a silver glow. This power was somewhat similar to the Elemental Witch, but slightly different.
“I can’t use it anymore.”
Red streaks appeared on the Blood Bear’s face, still at the left cheek, but unlike Carmen, the red streaks on his face almost reached the temple.
“Who told you not to control yourself when you were young.”
The Drunkard laughed sinisterly, his temple throbbing with yellow streaks spreading on his face, although it hadn’t reached the temple yet but was close.
Witch’s Grave said nothing. He took off his black robe and pulled out a crossbow from his back. This crossbow could fire continuously, with a capacity of about ten arrows. Blue streaks spread on Witch’s Grave’s face, with the fewest streaks on his face.
“Cuchulainn, if we can fight our way through the Gate of Dawn, stick to the original plan. You head to Mist Castle, we’ll go to the Mud Altar.”
“Okay.”
“Alright, let’s charge forward.”
Just as Carmen was about to charge towards One-Line Sky, over a hundred witches emerged from within, and they had been exposed, continuing the ambush was meaningless.
Leading the witches was an old witch with a face full of scars. After reaching the entrance of One-Line Sky, she raised one hand to signal the witches behind her to hold their actions. She had something to say.
“Witch’s Grave.”
The old witch shouted hoarsely as if her vocal cords were injured.
Witch’s Grave Gunte stopped just about to charge forward, looking at the old witch with a puzzled expression.
“Do you remember me, you beast.”
The old witch tore her clothes, revealing purple-red scars, her body bulged with scars left after being flayed.
“Who would remember you.”
Witch’s Grave mumbled, and just as he finished speaking, Blood Bear raised the shotgun in his hand.
“Why waste words with her.”
Boom!
Thick smoke scattered, and the deafening gunshot spread, large fragments of diamond shot towards the old witch.
The old witch pushed forward with her palm, countless black beetles crawled out from her clothes, their metallic luster reflecting in the sunset, flapping wings and flying forward.
After a series of crisp clinking sounds, the diamond fragments were blocked by the beetles.
“Oh? So it’s Man · Kandi,” Witch’s Grave recalled something and immediately shouted: “Drunkard, phosphorescent powder.”
Though Drunkard was unsure of the situation, he trusted Witch’s Grave and pulled out a small packet of powder from his coat, the main material for creating explosives, which he always carried.
Hundreds of beetles flew straight for them, but just as they appeared, Su Xiao, A Mu, Carmen, and others already charged towards the Gate of Dawn.
The few did not charge together; with over a hundred witches inside One-Line Sky, moving as a group would make them easy targets. It was wise to separate and advance through.
Clink, clink, clink…
Sparks flew as black beetles were shattered by Su Xiao. D·Assassin appeared in his hand, while advancing, he aimed and repeatedly pulled the trigger.
D·Assassin might not have the power of the Duke of Extinction, but when comparing close-range bullet speeds and penetration, the legendary quality D·Assassin is undoubtedly superior.
The magazine’s bullets emptied in an instant. Three Black Witches were killed with headshots, two clutched their chests and fell, while the rest of the bullets were blocked.
Su Xiao suddenly halted, a blue fireball flew past him, and the moment it went by, he continued rushing, several energy thorns striking behind him.
Su Xiao’s sudden stop and charge made targeting him difficult for the witches, contrasting with the Curse Witches, who found it relatively easy, as their abilities hit targets most of the time, but as for the effect…
Dragon Slash swung out several void slashes, blue blade aura detached from the blade, and using the blade aura as cover, Su Xiao dashed to the witches.
“Stop him.”
A witch shouted; the surrounding witches felt speechless. They were witches, physically overpowering humans; how could they fear a human up close?
A witch nearest to Su Xiao pulled a short knife from her calf, charging at him with her avatar from both sides.
Su Xiao, slowing his dash, slanted his long knife to slash at the witch holding the short knife.
The witch raised her short knife sideways to block. With one flick of her finger, the avatar appeared behind Su Xiao.
The short knife witch’s plan was sound. She blocked Su Xiao’s cleave, providing an opportunity for the avatar to sneak attack.
Pshhh!
Blood sprayed, a severed blade flew through the air.
The short knife witch suddenly felt her body lighten, as if flying upward. Looking down, she was staring at the fast-approaching ground.
With one slash, the short knife witch was dealt with, a pale blue crystal layer covering Su Xiao’s elbow as he turned and elbowed.
With a crackle, fragments of the avatar scattered, Su Xiao’s left hand wrapped in a metal armguard grabbed a dozen avatar fragments.
Throwing forward, Su Xiao’s fragments struck one witch who clutched her face and wailed.
Su Xiao’s eyes swept around, and an energy shield appeared before him.
Boom!
Various attacks hit the energy shield, stirring dust around.
“Is he dead?”
“Probably… yes.”
The long knife cut through the dust. A Second Phase Witch hadn’t realized what was happening when she felt her world spin and ears ring.
