Chapter 1563: Chapter 29: Ferocious Indigenous Tribe

The sweaty Meilodi got to her feet, looking exhausted. Just moments ago, one of Meilodi’s words had violated the taboo, and she encountered the same situation as Issa. A mysterious energy surged into her body, intending to turn her to ashes.

Su Xiao dispelled that bizarre energy with Blue Steel Shadow Energy. He was waiting for the energy to attack a second time. If someone was indeed controlling this energy, they would surely strike Meilodi again.

But after waiting for more than ten minutes, Meilodi showed no signs of abnormalities.

"Take off your clothes."

"Huh?" Meilodi looked at Su Xiao in surprise, holding her chest with both hands, and urgently said, "Even though you just saved my life, don’t think... Hey, help!!"

A minute later, Meilodi lay on the bed inside the carriage, her upper body bare, tears in her eyes, while Su Xiao sat on her back with blue energy flashing in his hand.

"Is it done yet? It hurts so much."

Meilodi exposed her back, showing a painful expression.

"Shut up."

Su Xiao formed a cone-shaped Blue Steel Shadow Energy with his fingertips and found a circular symbol on Meilodi’s back after an examination. The symbol was gray, depicting an Ouroboros, with scales clearly visible.

Meilodi had once exposed herself in front of Su Xiao, but at that time, Su Xiao did not see this symbol, and even Meilodi herself was unaware of the symbol’s presence on her back. It could be deduced that this symbol appeared only after Meilodi violated the ’taboo’.

Su Xiao had seen this symbol four times before: the first time was on the self-touching witch Aiseya, who had this symbol on the inside of her thigh, but in black rather than gray.

The second time was during a battle with Issa when Issa materialized a Flame Demon avatar, with the Ouroboros symbol on its forehead.

The third time was on the Fourth Stage Witch Mira, who during her attempt to ascend to the Fifth Stage, tried to transform her avatar into a spear. The similar pattern appeared on the handle, though it was too blurry.

The fourth time is on Meilodi. This time the pattern is the clearest, allowing Su Xiao to identify it as an Ouroboros.

The Ouroboros, also known as the Devourer or the Undead Body, in alchemy, it is interpreted as infinity, meaning an infinite cycle. Most self-circulating formation diagrams are inspired by the Ouroboros.

"I can’t take it anymore, it hurts so much!!"

Meilodi shouted, Su Xiao chopped her on the back of the neck, continuing to use Blue Steel Shadow Energy to strip away the Ouroboros pattern. Shortly afterward, Meilodi awoke from the pain.

"Ugh~ I’m having the worst luck ever. I’ll refund you the money, just pretend we never met. You’re a good person, so please get off my back. My butt is numb from sitting, as a gentleman you should not sit cross-legged on a lady’s waist, especially when she is a kind White Witch..."

Meilodi’s thoughts were already muddled from the pain, and at this moment, Su Xiao successfully stripped away the Ouroboros pattern.

"Shut up."

"Alright."

Meilodi indeed shut up. Su Xiao watched as the Ouroboros pattern slowly dissipated at his fingertips. If one or two witches having this symbol was coincidental, but with four witches showcasing the same, it was beyond the realm of coincidence.

The reason Meilodi suffered so much was that she had revealed a key piece of information to Su Xiao. The ’Mo’ character Su Xiao was investigating wasn’t about Westport’s Moris; Witch Issa referred to another meaning of the ’Mo’ character. Meilodi barely survived confirming this point.

Therefore, Su Xiao’s original plan remains unchanged, and the identity of a red-tier witch hunter remains crucial. Only red-tier hunters can access the library of confidential documents at the Holy Healing Church Headquarters.

Westport is far from the Central Plains Region. Fortunately, Su Xiao’s initial route for witch hunting headed this way, and the witches hunted along the way were merely convenient. As for those witches residing in remote areas, Su Xiao had no time to bother with them.

...

Dark Raven Continent, East, within the Primitive Forest.

Several ghostly figures swiftly moved through the forest. Their skin was completely white, upon closer inspection, revealing some sort of graffiti with white dye.

Rapid breathing noises echoed ahead, belonging to a witch wearing a witch hat and dressed in rags. Her right arm appeared to be bitten off by some creature, the severed end jagged.

After running swiftly for about ten minutes, the Fourth Stage Elemental Witch stopped and bent over, gasping heavily, her lungs feeling like they would explode as she recalled the previous events. A bitter smile appeared on her face.

Seven witches had come seeking a particular item, and after some investigations, they learned that it was within a primitive tribe called the ’Tooth Bone’.

The witches held disdain for these unrefined natives. In their eyes, while humans were weak, they were intelligent creatures, and though they wouldn’t hesitate to kill, they would offer a degree of respect. But as for these Eastern natives, they were completely contemptuous.

Yesterday at noon, seven witches launched a surprise attack on the Tooth Bone Tribe. Initially, the natives suffered heavy casualties, but after a few minutes of combat, the witches realized these natives were far stronger than expected. Not to mention their combat skills, just their physical strength left the witches speechless.

The Tooth Bone Tribe is a large tribe with about a thousand members, the majority of whom are young and strong warriors. The tribe has a tradition that once someone is over 35, their soul goes to serve the Tooth Bone God, while their body is left for their descendants to share, symbolizing being with their descendants.

Evidently, the witches were unfamiliar with the Tooth Bone Tribe. The Holy Healing Church once sent an army to invade the tribe due to their border transgressions.

However, after advancing to the East, the Holy Healing Church’s army was clearly instructed. Half of the 20,000 soldiers and over a hundred witch hunters died in the East, becoming food for the Tooth Bone Tribe.

Although both parties suffered heavy losses, the Tooth Bone Tribe didn’t fare well either. They indeed didn’t care about ordinary soldiers as they became part of the tribe’s food, but the witch hunters made them witness the strength of humans. The Tooth Bone Tribe holds warriors in high regard, hence they buried those witch hunters.

Two years later, the Tooth Bone Tribe’s priest and the Holy Healing Church’s Pope signed a non-aggression treaty, stipulating that the tribe would not enter the Central Plains region, and the Holy Healing Church would not attack the tribe again.

In this intense and ferocious tribe, seven witches were attacked; despite one of them being a Fourth Stage Elemental Witch, three being Third Stage Curse System Witches, and three being Third Stage Elemental Witches, only one escaped the tribe, doubting her own existence amid their pursuit.

For external threats, the Tooth Bone Tribe employs only one solution: fighting relentlessly to the death.

With a brush-like sound, a completely white figure darted through the forest, holding a spear with a shiny black tip. The tip wasn’t made of metal but rather polished from a certain kind of metal ore.

With a whimpering sound piercing the wind, the Fourth Stage Elemental Witch leaning against the tree shrunk her pupils, instinctively bending over.

With a loud thunk, a long arrow nailed into the tree trunk above her head. Most of the arrow penetrated deep into the tree, and the exposed end continued to tremble rapidly.
