Chapter 1499 - 222: Bu Bu Wang’s Daily Infiltration into the Enemy Forces
Chapter 1499: Chapter 222: Bu Bu Wang’s Daily Infiltration into the Enemy Forces
Ying’s Loyalty Points were very low; just how low could be seen from the fact that Su Xiao couldn’t even check his Attributes.
As a summon, Ying’s data should have been freely accessible to Su Xiao, yet that wasn’t the case. When Su Xiao tried to check Ying’s data, a prompt immediately appeared.
[Prompt: Summon’s Loyalty Points too low, unable to view its data.]
Su Xiao knew a bit about Summoning Type abilities. Normally, 100 Loyalty Points was the cap. Very few summons ever reached 100; most hovered around 70–90. Anything above 90 meant they wouldn’t fear death at critical moments.
70–90 was the safe range; summons with that level of Loyalty wouldn’t easily betray their Master, meaning they wouldn’t try to forcibly break the Contract.
40–70 started to get unsafe; the summon might disobey orders and even intermittently attack friendly members.
10–30 was the danger range. Summons at this stage had one very obvious trait: the Master couldn’t view their Attributes.
In other words, Ying’s Loyalty Points were between 10 and 30. As for the exact figure, that needed closer judgment.
"Got any booze?"
Ying suddenly spoke. That pair of lifeless eyes of his was gradually regaining spirit; Su Xiao’s judgment had been right—Ying had an independent personality.
"Booze?"
Su Xiao checked his Storage Space and did find a few bottles of alcohol, originally prepared as gifts for key plot characters if needed.
A glass bottle of strong liquor appeared in Su Xiao’s hand. He tossed the bottle to Ying, who bit off the cork directly and gulped down several big mouthfuls.
"Didn’t expect I’d ever return to the Soul Society."
Ying leaned back against the wall, looking unkempt. Seeing his expression and outfit, Su Xiao couldn’t shake the feeling this guy was some local Kenpachi; their vibe was just too similar.
"What era is it now? Do the Guard Court Thirteen Teams still exist?"
It was obvious Ying had recalled some things from when he was alive.
"You don’t need to know for now."
"Is that so... then forget it."
Ying glanced at Su Xiao, who was holding his Long Knife. He understood clearly that the other party could kill him at any time.
"Really want to see her once... she should’ve grown up by now, right? What happened after I died?"
Ying muttered to himself as he drank in big gulps. Su Xiao ignored him, busy erasing traces in the area.
After cleaning up the marks left from summoning Ying, Su Xiao looked at him.
"Hide in the forest near Hollows Street. When I need you, I’ll let you know."
"Got it."
Ying got to his feet. The wound on his chest was still gushing Blood, the gash very close to his heart.
"Can I... kill people?"
Ying vaulted onto the wall, the corners of his mouth curling up. One look and you could tell this guy had absolutely been a ruthless killer when he was alive.
"As long as you don’t cause trouble, do as you like. Disappear from my sight in ten seconds."
"..."
Ying said nothing more; a few leaps and he vanished from Su Xiao’s line of sight.
Su Xiao had no interest whatsoever in Ying’s origin or identity; all he needed was Ying’s combat effectiveness, nothing more.
Dusk was deepening. Su Xiao had left the First Squad station around five in the evening; it was now about seven. There were only two hours left until his nine o’clock appointment with Aizen.
Su Xiao headed straight for the First Squad station. He had to show his face there first, then figure out a way to reach the Fifth Division Station and meet Aizen in the裏廷间.
...
The present world, Urahara Shop.
It looked like a very Ordinary little shop, but its owner was anything but Ordinary. His name was Urahara Kisuke, former captain of the Twelfth Division of the Guard Court Thirteen Teams. At the moment, he was just a shopkeeper.
Below the shop lay a huge underground space. Though underground, it wasn’t enveloped in Darkness; instead, it was a stretch of rocky desert terrain.
Urahara Kisuke stood with arms crossed. In front of him was a very deep circular pit, inside which were two figures.
"Manager, is this really okay?"
A little girl spoke; she was one of Urahara Kisuke’s employees.
"No problem, no problem."
Urahara Kisuke held a paper fan in his hand, his clothes worn casually.
Down in that deep pit, the story’s main character Ichigo Kurosaki was undergoing a certain trial. His Zanpakutō had previously been Severed; he’d almost met Death and had lost his Death God’s Power. Now he needed to regain that Power.
Urahara Kisuke actually didn’t care much whether Ichigo Kurosaki could reclaim his Death God’s Power. In his view, that was a foregone conclusion—after all, the boy was the son of those two.
Compared to Ichigo Kurosaki, Urahara Kisuke was more curious about the origin of a certain dog. This dog had followed Ichigo Kurosaki to the shop, and what puzzled Urahara was that the dog turned out to be Ichigo Kurosaki’s collaborator, not his pet.
"If I remember right, your name should be Bubute Ni, yes?"
Urahara Kisuke spoke. Bubu Wang, lying on the ground, glanced at him, as if to say: "This Dog Star Person doesn’t feel like talking to you, hurry up and train that spiky-haired kid."
The way Bubu Wang had entered the Soul Society was by going along with Ichigo Kurosaki. Judging from the current situation, it would soon be able to rendezvous with Su Xiao.
"Judging from the accessories on its neck, it seems to have a Master."
A Black Cat walked up to Bubu Wang and spoke human words, eyeing it with puzzled curiosity.
Bubu Wang sat up. It knew this cat’s identity—this was a woman named Yoruichi in Disguise.
Seeing Yoruichi, Bubu Wang immediately thought of a certain money-grubbing Cat Star Person.
"If it has a Master, why isn’t it looking for them? This dog seems to have no small amount of Intelligence."
Urahara Kisuke crouched down, intending to pat Bubu Wang on the head. Bubu Wang tilted its head up and snapped at him; Urahara quickly pulled his hand back.
"Surprisingly unfriendly."
"Maybe its Master is already dead."
Hearing Yoruichi’s words, Bubu Wang turned its head and stared straight at her.
"Sorry, Yoruichi touched a sore spot. How about I adopt you?"
Even though he’d nearly been bitten, Urahara Kisuke was still full of interest in Bubu Wang.
Bubu Wang gave Urahara Kisuke a Dog Star People’s look of contempt, then took some snacks out of the little pouch on its back and started eating unhurriedly.
"This seems... beyond the level of Wisdom a canine should have."
Under Urahara Kisuke’s puzzled gaze, Bubu Wang leapt into the deep pit. Ichigo Kurosaki’s progress was too slow; it was going to help speed things up.
...
Soul Society, First Squad station.
Nights in the Soul Society were rather quiet. Su Xiao lay atop a roadside wall, seemingly taking a nap.
From time to time, a Squad of Soul Reapers patrolled the streets. They only spared Su Xiao a glance and didn’t come over to question him; after all, he’d already been lying there for over an hour.
"Time’s about up."
Su Xiao got up. After confirming there were no patrolling Soul Reapers nearby, he jumped down from the wall and slipped into a narrow alley.
Half an hour later, inside the Fifth Division Station. It was just as quiet at night, especially on the outermost edge where the裏廷间 was. The so-called裏廷间 was actually just the Fifth Division’s garbage disposal station.
Aizen hadn’t specified an exact meeting spot. After Su Xiao reached the裏廷间, he found a relatively tall building, sat cross-legged on the roof, and quietly waited for Aizen.
After a short wait, a Black Butterfly flew up to Su Xiao. It circled him a few times, then flew toward the eastern side of the裏廷间.
Su Xiao followed the Hell Butterfly. If he guessed right, this was Aizen’s way of contacting him.
Before long, the Hell Butterfly stopped in front of a residential house. Su Xiao pushed open the door; inside, the house was pitch black, with two people standing in the Darkness.
