Chapter 1349: Chapter 60: Little Bun

It’s clear now; the Fourth-tier Contractors’ mission is also related to the Shapodi Archipelago. It’s unlikely that their task involves killing the Celestial Dragons, as such ’anti-human’ missions have a difficulty level that only Su Xiao’s promotion/mainline dual mission could trigger.

When Su Xiao killed a Contractor in Dressrosa, he received half of the opponent’s current reputation as a reward. If this mechanism hasn’t disappeared, the situation in Zone 21 makes perfect sense.

Su Xiao stood up and left the restaurant. Although he was very interested in Zone 21, he now had to go to a more important location.

Zone 1, which is the venue for the population auction, is also Su Xiao’s designated location for assaulting the Celestial Dragons.

A large number of pirate ships are moored in front of the port in Zone 1. These people are pirates and slave hunters. They pillage and capture humans, fishmen, fur tribes, etc., to sell them at auction for a profit.

Su Xiao climbed the Red Tree in Zone 1. Standing on the hundred-meter-high tree, he used a telescope to observe below.

The population auction houses in Zone 1 number at least in the dozens. The largest is, of course, the one under the Donquixote Family, which has no competition. Other auction houses only dare to take the leftovers from the Donquixote Family; competition simply does not exist. Moreover, the prices at Donquixote Family auctions set the market price for slave sales here, with no one daring to sell below this price.

The Shapodi Archipelago is located in the first half of The Great Route. Here, pirates with a bounty of 100 million Belli are already considered big figures, unlike in the New World, where a bounty of 100 million Belli only counts as a minor leader under the Four Emperors.

If the New World is Purgatory Level, then the first half of The Great Route is around Difficult Level. Sailing here for half a year might not even encounter a pirate with over a 100 million bounty, whereas the New World is much livelier, encountering pirates with a two or three hundred million bounty is commonplace.

Not to mention Doflamingo himself, even if his subordinate Pika were to arrive, aside from the Seven Warlords and the Navy, no one would dare provoke Pika, and they would walk around him.

For this reason, the Donquixote Family’s population auction stands prominently ahead of many auction houses. Those auction houses only dare to make a living off the scraps of the Donquixote Family; there is no competition. Furthermore, the prices at the Donquixote Family’s auction set the market prices for the slave trade here, and no one dares to sell slaves below those prices.

Through his telescope, Su Xiao observed the construction of the Donquixote Family’s auction house and found that it basically had no external defenses. The guards at the door were purely ornamental, clearly complacent for a long time.

"Very good."

Su Xiao leaped from the Red Tree, jumping a few times among the soap bubbles in the air before reaching the ground.

There’s no rush to assault the Celestial Dragons just yet; he is more interested in understanding the situation in Zone 21. He also very much needs Pirate Reputation, so he decides to join the fun in Zone 21.

Shallow Dream’s Pirate Reputation has already surpassed Su Xiao. In the current leaderboard, Shallow Dream is in first place, Kudu is second, and Su Xiao is third. Since killing enemies doesn’t earn Pirate Reputation, the gap between the three isn’t very large.

Seated in the Bubble Car rented by Bu Wang, the duo headed toward Zone 21.

...

Shapodi Archipelago, Zone 21, inside a bar.

A strong stench of blood permeated the bar. A man lay on the ground, his throat slashed but not yet dead, his body twitching involuntarily.

Several men and women stood or sat in the bar, some wiping their weapons, others selecting wine from the racks.

"Whose turn is it this time?"

A short-haired woman asked. From her attire, it was clear she was a Contractor.

"Mine."

A hoarse voice replied, and a thin, short man, emaciated to skin and bones, raised his arm.

"Scorpion, don’t be too greedy; you were the one who handled that woman we captured alive last time."

The short-haired woman glanced at the scrawny man named Sasori; his actions of striking while the iron was hot disgusted her.

"It’s... it’s me."

A weak voice responded, clearly lacking confidence.

"Is it Little Bun’s turn?"

The short-haired woman looked around at the others. The man selecting wine from the rack nodded.

"Then hurry up, be quick about it, and dispose of the body as well."

The short-haired woman crossed her legs, the gold earring on her left ear swaying.

"Alright, okay."

The female Contractor named Little Bun stood up. She walked to the dying man’s side, holding a milky white magic wand tightly with both hands.

Just as Little Bun was about to swing her wand down, the short-haired woman suddenly interrupted her.

"Are you planning to crack his skull open? Use a sharp weapon."

"Oh, oh,"

Little Bun seemed unsure of how she’d advanced to the Fourth Tier; she was somewhat nervous about killing.

"Being a Healer must be blissful, getting protected by teammates all the way to the Fourth Tier. Miss, this nickname ’Little Bun’ piques my curiosity; your face isn’t round. Could it be that other parts of your body resemble a little bun? If that’s the case, I’m very interested in you."

The emaciated man let out an odd laugh. Upon hearing this, Little Bun pursed her thin lips.

"I can survive. I’m a Fourth-tier Contractor."

Little Bun muttered, taking a deep breath, her gaze resolute. She stowed her Healing Staff and took out a fine dagger, though she didn’t notice the greedy eyes around her; these were wolves who had ventured alone to the Fourth Tier.

"Woof."

A dog’s bark broke the silence in the bar, making it eerily quiet.

"Little Bun, what’s the matter? A dog entered here, and you didn’t raise an alert? Is your perception ability just for show?

The short-haired woman roared, her eyes narrowing. Even a murderer would turn and flee if she looked at them like this.

"I, I..."

Little Bun stared blankly at Bubu Wang; she had been a healer with perception in a medium-sized adventure group. Even if a little soft-hearted, she wouldn’t have made such a rookie mistake. She simply hadn’t sensed Bubu Wang.

"Scorpion, deal with this dog. We’ll have dog meat soup tonight."

"Alright, I suppose."

Sasori walked slowly toward Bubu Wang. To him, Bubu Wang just seemed like a slightly larger dog, with a resemblance to a Siberian Husky. In a world filled with all sorts of bizarre creatures, this was nothing special.

Bubu Wang sat squatting on the ground, looking up at the emaciated man approaching. The message in its eyes was clear: "You better not come any closer. My master doesn’t have a good temper."

"Hmm? That dog’s eyes..."

Sasori paused his steps.

"What’s to ponder over a dog’s gaze? If it were a summon of another Contractor, it wouldn’t have appeared in this manner. And Little Bun, hurry up and finish off that guy. He’s about to bleed out and die; don’t say we didn’t follow the mandatory contract then."

The short-haired woman was visibly impatient. Sasori shrugged, drew his short knife from his waist, and walked toward Bubu Wang.

"In your next life, remember to run when you see humans."

Sasori made a throw motion with his short knife, just as Bubu Wang raised a paw, forming the shape of a handgun with its chubby paw.

Seeing Bubu Wang’s paw, Sasori was taken aback.

"Biu."

Bubu Wang made a peculiar sound from its mouth, heaven knows how it managed to produce such an intonation.

Bubu Wang gestured as though shooting a gun, and the wooden paneling on the bar’s front shattered.

With a crash, Sasori’s upper body holding the short knife shattered, blood and flesh exploding, splattering Little Bun’s face.

Bam!

Sasori’s lower body embedded into the bar counter, splinters flying, a representation of violent beauty.
