Xu Feng nearly lost his composure when his buddy and a trusted friend started doubting him in actually letting Brian escape.
From start to finish, he had declared his motive already.
He wanted all the equipment of the Lethal Corp, and Brian was the leader of this ambushing group.
Just how many delicious and good equipment would he have on him?
As if he would let such a fat sheep escape from the clutches of his hands when they had personally delivered themselves to him!
"Huh? If you're not letting him escape, then why didn't you even make a move?" Zhao Kai frowned deeply.
He then rambled on and took this opportunity to judge Xu Feng. "Are you trying to look cool and impress the ladies here, because it's honestly not cool. No, it wasn't just that, but you look very cringeworthy for always acting calm and collected. You have no expression or emotion. You're just a bland and boring character."
When Zhao Kai finished his rambling, almost everyone had their eyes widened in surprise and shock.

Gracefully accepting the remarks, Xu Feng nodded his head. "You're right. I am a boring and bland character."
And he continued, "But you forgot one more remark."
"Oh ho, what is it?" Curious, Zhao Kai perked his ears up, clearly trying to hear more about his negativity. It sure was refreshing to take a jab at Xu Feng once in a while.
Though Zhao Kai quickly regretted this refreshing take in a split second.
"You forgot that I'm quite petty sometimes." Xu Feng laughed heartily and called out to someone.
"Flint, thrash him." He commanded and pointed at Zhao Kai.
Instantly, with the appearance of Flint, Zhao Kai was struck silly.
"W-Why is Flint here?" Zhao Kai's mouth twitched uncontrollably as he pointed at Flint anxiously. "I thought you sent Flint to catch that Brian dude."
Since Xu Feng claimed that he wouldn't let Brian escape, then the only eligible person or creature that could catch him should have been Flint.
Hence, he was confident enough to take a jab at Xu Feng.
"Flint is my bodyguard, so why would a bodyguard leave the person they must protect? Seriously, you should stop watching movies that have nonsensical plots." Xu Feng yawned and wished him good luck.
"Do it, Flint."
As soon as Xu Feng finished that sentence, Flint's eyes glowed in brightness, its target being Zhao Kai.
"Oh, Mommy!" Zhao Kai shrieked in horror, turned around, and started fleeing to avoid being bashed by Flint.
"Bwahahahaha!"
The scene garnered some laughter and comical relief amidst the intense and grim situation. While Zhao Kai grunted in pain after getting bashed by Flint, Iceheart came to realize she was indeed not needed here at all.
From start to finish, the situation was actually under control by Xu Feng all along and those worries or dramatic moments she felt, were wasted. In fact, this so-called ambush was even more anti-climatic than the dungeon raid itself.

"Iceheart!" Xu Feng suddenly called out, snapping her from her daze.
"Uh, yes?" Iceheart hurriedly composed herself, not letting her thought process leak out.
"I appreciate your resolution in staying behind, so here's some Raid Points and a guarantee that you would be able to purchase at least one of the Elemental Warrior Set or other items that we will auction off." Xu Feng said, increasing her Raid Points and a message of guarantee.
The message of the guarantee wasn't a contract or anything special, but for Iceheart, she understood the significance of the guarantee.
To not be anything special or requiring a contract meant that Iceheart had improved their relationship, or more specifically the Phoenix Guild with the Vanguard Guild. Gladly accepting the rewards, Iceheart didn't bother saying those cheesy lines such as she was only repaying the favor, etc.
"Eh, only 500 Raid Points?" Iceheart raised an eyebrow after seeing the amount. "Aren't you being a bit stingy with the Raid Points?"
"Hey, 500 was already a lot when you didn't even need to lift a finger." Xu Feng shrugged in response.
"Not to mention, I can't just let your Phoenix Guild completely dominate the upcoming auction all alone." He continued, reminding her that she obtained a great advantage over others already.
Smiling briefly, Iceheart's smile was heartfelt and warm, easily capable of charming most men when they witnessed it.
Unfortunately, the smile was completely ineffective to Xu Feng, and it was mainly because his standard was too high. Once you tasted a lot of good things repeatedly, the good things would slowly become ordinary.
Of course, Iceheart didn't expect any reaction, to begin with.
"Do you still need me here then?" She instead asked if her help was required any further.
The Lethal Corp being crushed by Xu Feng, along with a group of unknown but equally terrifying experts of his caliber, was alarming enough for Iceheart to report it to her Guild Leader, which she had already done.
Thus, the Guild Leader had informed her to report to them in their base as soon as her business with Xu Feng was completed.
"I supposed you can leave—"
Before Xu Feng could finish his statement, a figure in the sky suddenly came flying in their direction.
Instantly, Carmen was alarmed and summoned her Elementalists, having them ready to attack the flying figure.
"No need to do anything." Xu Feng quickly said after knowing who it was.

As the flying figure crashed to the ground, Xu Feng saw an unconscious Brian, with barely any health points left.
Startled, Carmen nearly couldn't believe her eyes that the same arrogant person from earlier was now someone with barely any health points left and in an unconscious state.
"Did he go into a coma in real life?" Carmen poked at Brian with her staff a few times, wondering why he was unconscious.
"He didn't go into a coma in real life but was knocked out instead. Think of it like being put to sleep of some sort." Xu Feng chuckled and explained.
