Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 495: Cannot Be Offended

Chapter 495: Cannot Be Offended

As the system prompt appeared, successfully identifying that Xu Feng had completed the prerequisites, he wasted no time in clicking the "Yes" button.

A second later after he agreed to shatter the pillar, it began to crack from its base.

The fractures spread rapidly, splintering upward like jagged lightning. Dust and debris cascaded down as the once-imposing structure crumbled under its own weight. With a deafening roar, the oppressive pillar shattered entirely, its monumental pieces falling in slow, earth-shaking motions.

Subsequently, the others soon noticed the debuff that had all their stats originally reduced by 35% changed to 10.5%.

"Only 3 oppressive pillars are left." Xu Feng turned around and informed them.

"Are we going to assist the others now?" Ardent Lance raised his hand and questioned.

However, once he raised the question, he felt a cold chill on his back.

Without needing to turn around, Ardent Lance could tell the people behind him seemed eager to kill him.

What he just did was the equivalent of a student asking their professor if they still had homework to hand in after the professor forgot about the matter.

Such action was the fastest way to be the most hated student in the classroom.

'Please say no.' Ardent Lance prayed silently, hoping that Xu Feng wouldn't tell them to go assist the others.

He was afraid of getting ambushed once the raid was officially over. This type of grudge would be hard to forget after all.

Thankfully, it appeared as if his prayer had been answered.

"No need, we did the tedious work, so you all can just rest for now." Xu Feng shook his head after some pondering. Although the other passages contained some good things, they were all petty chump when compared to the Origin Pass.

Not to mention, he could tell his team was quite exhausted and spent by now. There was still the Boss Room left, and they needed to exert over 100% of their efforts.

Hence, he decided it was best to let them rest now and overwork them later on.

Yeah, he was surely the greatest Raid Leader who cherished his teammate's stamina and energy very well.

Unaware of Xu Feng's nefarious intent, the others soon took a seat down to rest and converse among themselves, reflecting on their battle. Though most of them were starting to change the topic to Flint, who was now the star of the show.

"Oh, Flint is such a cutie." SilentWhisper placed her hands on her chin, gushing at the sight of Flint.

"This Raid Leader of ours is really blessed with luck. How did he even get his hands on such a cute pet." Even the usually cold Iceheart found herself simping over Flint.

"The Raid Leader is capable, so his pet is also capable." Veronica smiled and rubbed on Flint's head. Despite its structure though, she didn't feel any pain, but rather a wave of softness splashing through her palm.

As for Flint, he merely chirped in response, not really sure what the situation was about except getting more free head rub.

Meanwhile, DeathLingers, who had been silent ever since his spy identity got exposed, suddenly walked toward Xu Feng. While doing so, Zhao Kai was alerted and stood up.

"And where do you think you're going?" Zhao Kai questioned, his expression showing the opposite of friendly.

Although Xu Feng had already told him everything was alright, Zhao Kai remained wary and filled with hostility. As if he would allow a similar incident to occur again.

"I've something to say to the Raid Leader." DeathLingers remained expressionless and explained, "I've signed a contract with the Raid Leader already. If I attempt to do something funny, then I'll be permanently banned from the Divine World."

"Who knows if you are someone who cares whether you will be banned permanently or not?" Zhao Kai sneered. His meaning was direct enough that DeathLingers could still harm Xu Feng if he disregarded all consequences.

"That's enough, Shadow Blade." Before the tension could rise even further, Xu Feng stepped in to stop the two from arguing any further.

He extended his hand and placed it on Zhao Kai's shoulder. "You should rest and recover your stamina first."

"You better be careful still." Zhao Kai whispered to him in response and returned to his seat. Though his gaze remained locked on DeathLingers, with his other hand holding a pistol.

"You don't have to mind him too much." Xu Feng casually said to DeathLingers.

"He cares a bit overboard, but don't be mistaken. We ain't in an intimate relationship." He joked, trying to light up the atmosphere. The tension between him and the Eternal Guild could be said to be in the past.

There are no eternal enemies, except for the Reaver Guild, but that was just an exception. In the face of profit, most enemies could easily become friends in an instant.

That was just the reality of the world and how one must adapt swiftly if they wished to play this kind of chess game.

Naturally, DeathLingers also understood this part, so he didn't attempt to argue with Zhao Kai, who only had one thing in mind: Xu Feng's safety.

Pretty sure Zhao Kai understood as well, but he simply didn't care. Toward profit or his buddy's safety, he chose the latter without hesitation.

"No worries, Raid Leader." DeathLingers spoke softly. "I just wished to join the others to help clear the oppressive pillars. Consider it an act of guilt and trying to redeem myself and the Eternal Guild."

"Sure, you can go assist them, but I don't allow any excuses when we enter the Boss Room." Xu Feng nodded and warned solemnly.

"Rest assured, I won't mess up."

"If you say so, then go ahead and assist them. I sent you a few passages that might need your help."

After receiving the message, DeathLingers thanked Xu Feng, as well as kept a mental note in his mind. 'Guild Leader Lin Feng is indeed not someone simple. He cannot be offended unless necessary.'

As DeathLingers' presence disappeared, Xu Feng smirked coldly behind his mask. 'You're a bit too green to test me, DeathLingers.'
