Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 481: Annihilation

Chapter 481: Annihilation

Once the EGW was effectively in a wet state, Veronica quickly followed up with Lightning Bolt, striking the wet EGW.

Upon contact, the wet EGW's movement became slowed, and was electrocuted in the process. Its stone structure started showing some signs of charredness, clearly showcasing the electrocution elemental reaction was working.

However, the team couldn't enjoy the achievement much longer once the wet EGW started to change form.

"What the heck?" Ardent Lance, who was closest to the wet EGW, was dumbfounded that the elite enemy was capable of changing form.

The charred stone area was quickly detached from its body and replaced with another new stone that was obtained from the ground. Additionally, the wetness state seemed to have dissipated upon the change.

And when Carmen tried to utilize the same method again, the EGW seemed to be expecting it and easily disintegrated the Elementalist and fueled itself up to vaporize the water residue.

"They can do that?" Astonished, Carmen was truly taken aback that the EGW had learned its lesson way too quick.

"I've told you that Elite Enemies are not easy to handle." Xu Feng mused at her reaction. If the Elite Enemies were that easy to defeat, then he wouldn't have bothered undergoing more details and emphasis on the importance of formation and coordination.

"Why are you still so relaxed?" This time, Carmen was unable to comprehend Xu Feng's carefreeness. Previously, the enemies might be tanky and somewhat tricky to deal with, but their DPS remained fairly high.

All they needed was some time to defeat them, but their current enemy was a completely different story. The damage that they dealt might be high, but their enemies' adaptability was something else.

Not to mention, their health regeneration was also a nuisance, with the electrocuted EGW quickly recovering its lost health points after its form had changed.

"Why wouldn't I be relaxed?" Contrary to Carmen's shock, Xu Feng was rather pleased that the EGW had changed its form rather quickly.

"Don't be fooled by its new form and how it has high health regeneration. Their defense had significantly lowered now that they had replaced their stone structure with an inferior version." He continued, enlightening them that the battle would only become easier the quicker they forced the EGW to change form with inferior materials.

"But is that really helpful?" Carmen pursed her lips, her gaze locking at the new form EGW whose speed had risen tremendously. Their accuracy was also gradually lowering as they missed their target repeatedly.

The original stone structure was durable and heavy, prompting the EGW to be quite slow in its movement.

However, the new form no longer had the original stone structure, so naturally, their weight had also been reduced.

With that logic, their speed having been increased was a no-brainer.

"And that is why I told you to practice your aim." Xu Feng chuckled and pointed at Zhao Kai. "Haven't you noticed he had stopped tanking and left the job to Iceheart and Ardent Lance?"

Following his pointer, Carmen soon noticed Zhao Kai had stored his shield and retrieved a sniper rifle.

The long barrel of the rifle gleamed under the dim light as Zhao Kai crouched, steadying his aim.

Carmen blinked in surprise, having not noticed the transition. It was clear now—Zhao Kai had shifted from tanking to long-range support.

"Wait... he swapped to a sniper?" Carmen muttered in disbelief.

"Wasn't he a Gun Knight, so why does it feel like he's more a Gunner than our actual Gunner?" She added, her gaze turning to Steelshot, who had been missing his shots repeatedly by now.

Steelshot was holding dual pistols, sacrificing heavy damage for quick damage. However, his luck seemed to be extremely bad, considering that wherever he aimed, the EGW dodged easily.

And when Steelshot attempted to predict the EGW's movement trajectory, his prediction became worse than his aiming.

Not only did the EGW not move exactly where Steelshot was predicting, but they also changed their pattern once they noticed Steelshot's gaze had altered.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng was too flabbergasted at Steelshot's horrendous aim. He disdained to even make a comment on him and pretended that he didn't see anything.

Similarly, Carmen also stopped paying attention to Steelshot, otherwise, she might really need some bleach to cleanse her eyesight.

How could one call themselves a Gunner when their bullets only hit empty air?

"I'm surprised the Silver Wind Guild hadn't suffered any annihilation yet with such a DPS Gunner." Carmen furrowed her brows and commented, finding it very astounding that Gentle Wind had not kicked him out of the guild.

The fact that Steelshot was considered an "elite" in the Silver Wind Guild caused Carmen to wonder if people just labeled themselves as elite without any standard.

After all, she was new to the virtual reality game so it was hard for her to know the ins and outs. She even began to suspect herself whether she was really an elite or Xu Feng was just coaxing her.

As her eyes gazed at Xu Feng, he quickly raised his hand and paused her imaginative thoughts. Discover stories with My Virtual Library Empire

"Don't compare my standard of elite to the likes of Steelshot. You're an elite because you are one based on my standard." He stated solemnly, clearly afraid of her mistaking him to have such low standards.

"Um, then am I an elite or just the same as Steelshot?" From behind, SilentWhisper who had been casting her spells at the easier EGW, unconsciously overheard their conversation.

She found it startling that Steelshot's rating in their eyes was so low that she began to wonder if they held the same thoughts toward her.

As for them lying to her face, she doubted it heavily, considering Xu Feng's straightforward and blunt attitude.

If you are good, then he will praise you. But if you were trash as hell, then he would say it right to your face without any consideration of your feelings, with the exception of Veronica who was a total newcomer.

Xu Feng paused for a moment before opening his interface to check the team members' stats.

Upon seeing SilentWhisper's accuracy was at 65%, Xu Feng nodded his head. "Not quite an elite, but definitely better than Steelshot's horrendous 32% accuracy."
