Chapter 366: Earthrender’s Gift

As Earthrender announced the successor to Xu Feng, the atmosphere was somewhat quiet.

However, it was quickly broken by the clapping sound from Carmen.

"Amazing, the Guild Leader really isn't a simple man," Carmen exclaimed, not a bit surprised by Xu Feng's achievement.

Having interacted with him for quite a while, she came to understand that he was different from a lot of players.

There was not a dull moment with him, but the main point was that his actions were extremely vast and unpredictable.

Another great point with Xu Feng was that he remained calm and composed constantly. Even if a situation unexpectedly arises, Xu Feng deals with it accordingly. Plus, he never once got mad at her despite making mistakes.

While Carmen was full of admiration for him, Crimson Heart, on the other hand, didn't find it surprising.

"I have a total of four items here and each of you can have these two."

A few seconds later, four items were neatly arranged as they appeared on the ground. They were separated with two items being closer to Carmen and the other two being close to Crimson Heart.

Without a doubt, these two items were meticulously chosen based on their classes, and the slight anger they had on Earthrender disappeared.

Although Earthrender had thrown them into an illusion, it managed to benefit them more than being detrimental, so they really couldn't get too mad.

As Carmen grabbed the piece of stone and a shard, she noticed the stone radiated a faint glow and pulsated with a rhythmic energy that synced with her mana.

"The stone is called the Stone of Summoning, but don't mistake it as a summoning item. It's an item that enhances the power and durability of your summoned Elementalist." Earthrender quickly explained once she saw Carmen's interest in the stone.

Nodding, Carmen then extended the shard, "What about this item?"

"That's a fragment of my scale. Many wanted to get a hold of it, but they are just too trash to even think about it." Earthrender proudly said.

"A fragment of your scale?" Carmen was not a blacksmith, so she couldn't understand how the item was going to be useful for her. In fact, she even felt a bit uncomfortable to touch a scale of his.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng casually swooped in at this time and smiled, "The Earthrender's Shard can be fused with your staff, increasing the summoning speed and reducing the cooldown of your spell by 10 percent."

"That's right!" Earthrender chimed in. It didn't really understand much of the explanation, but he knew many sought after a piece of his scale for forging. Not even Yaren was able to resist either and had occasionally traded with him for some of his scales.

"Then I suppose you can hold it for me." Realization dawned upon Carmen and she readily attempted to give it to Xu Feng with no hesitation.

"My forging skill isn't high enough to complete it though." Xu Feng said, refusing to accept the shard.

"But you have many blacksmiths under you. It's better to leave it to you than have it rot in my inventory." She insisted and practically pushed the shard to him.

Meanwhile, Earthrender wanted to curse angrily, not at Carmen, but at Xu Feng.

'Many wanted my scale and I made them fuck off. Yet you are here refusing it?' Earthrender's tail twitched somewhat violently.

While this was occurring, Crimson Heart had already used her identification skills and inspected the two items given to her.

"Cloak of Cunning Stone and Sonic Boots." Crimson Heart murmured and began inspecting its description. The cloak was made from Earthrender's hide and provided enhanced stealth capabilities, a perfect fit for assassination in ambush.

As for the Sonic Boots, it was even more amazing. Not only does it enhance agility attributes and increase her movement speed, but it also allows her to gain a brief burst of invisibility when dodging attacks.

"I see you are pleased with my two items as apologies," Earthrender commented upon seeing a satisfied expression on Crimson Heart's face.

"Yes, this is perfect for me." Nodding, Crimson Heart smiled gracefully at Earthrender's generosity.

Both items were of Rare rarity and were far superior to any of the equipment she currently had on.

Such a massive leap and upgrade was desirable by many.

Pleased that she loved the items, Earthrender no longer felt any guilt in dragging them to his situation.

"Ahem!" Amidst the joyous moment of Carmen and Crimson Heart, a person was still left empty-handed. They had to clear their throat softly to gain Earthrender's attention.

"I didn't forget about you." Earthrender snorted as he turned to Xu Feng.

"I know you didn't, but I just want to give you a heads-up that our time is limited." Xu Feng reminded him. The illusion might not seem like a lot of time had passed by, but that was far from the truth.

When they were embroiled in the illusion, a few days had already gone by, which meant the competition time limit was near its end.

Meanwhile, Carmen finally snapped out of her joyous feeling when Xu Feng suddenly revealed the time.

"It can't be?" Carmen had a bad premonition and quickly checked the time.

Sure enough, time seemed to have gone by rather quickly, and it was only now did she realize her inbox actually had a few notifications.

Since Xu Feng sent a private message through the guild team chat earlier, she didn't need to check her inbox to open it to read the message. Thus, she had forgotten that she had previously told someone to send them a friend request.

After opening it, she realized a user called Vortex Viper had sent her a friend request two days ago.

"I'm going to get an earful…" Carmen smiled bitterly.
