No one knew Xu Feng’s pain because he made sure to keep the cost of the cannon activation a tight secret.

If those people learned that each shot cost so much, they would definitely not be as wary as they were right now.

What do people fear?

It wasn’t the things they could see or know.

Instead, it was the unknown that people feared!

And as long as they didn’t know how expensive his cannon was, they would never dare to go overboard. That kind of strategy was called mental breakdown war.

’Once this alliance is shattered, I’ll gladly send my regards to Ethereal and Nocturnal.’ Xu Feng was a petty man. The Ethereal Super Guild was the one who made the proposal, so it was obvious he would get back at them.

As for Nocturnal, their lack of honor code and disrupting the fight between Serene Paragon and Lightning Blade needed to be taught a lesson.

Since the esports tournament was still in preparation, he would make sure Ethereal would have no eligible participants.

While he held such thoughts, back at the scene, Carmen smiled coldly at Felicia.

"What about now, Miss?" She asked softly. "Are you still here to siege our Haven Wind City?"

Felicia’s facial complexion turned extremely ugly.

What was she supposed to answer here?

"I-I uh..." She stuttered and glanced at her subordinates, then at the rest of the group.

Surprisingly, the ones who suffered the highest casualties belonged to Nocturnal. She didn’t know whether this was a coincidence or not, but the main culprit—the one who proposed the siege was nearly all killed.

"Let me rephrase my questions so you can understand more easily." While she was incapable of answering, Carmen decided to make things easier for her.

"Are you here as a visitor or here as an enemy who wanted to plot something bad against our Vanguard Guild or the city?"

"Visitor!" Felicia blurted without much thinking.

There was no choice. This wasn’t a cowardly approach when the enemy could literally nuke their entire group to dust.

The whole stream had seen it, so even if she were to return to Paragon, the higher-ups wouldn’t say much either.

After all, this kind of level was beyond their scale and knowledge.

Who could have imagined a cannon could deal such devastating damage?

They were Tier 2, but they seemed no different than a low level in a high-level map.

Just a simple sneeze from the enemy would have sent them to the gray screen.

"Oh, so you’re here as visitors!" Carmen clasped her hands in joy and giggled.

"You should have told us that from the start instead of pulling a prank on us. We’re quite sensitive lately because of Razor Technology bullying us in the real world since they are trash in the Divine World." She continued, directly talking smack at Razor Technology.

<Hahaha, this is why I’m a diehard fan of the Demoness!>

<She gives no qualms about these Super Guilds! Screw the Razor Technology for even pulling such a dirty move. Can’t beat in the game, so they resort to real life. What a bunch of sore losers!>

<Agreed, we should all just boycott Razor Technology. They’re the biggest, but it’s not like they’re the only technology company!>

The viewers in the stream went into a frenzy over how badass Carmen’s direct trash talk toward Razor Technology was.

Her statement was clipped and shared immediately on the spot.

As for the cost of clipping it, the viewers didn’t even bat an eyelid at the cost.

Time was of the essence, and any diehard fans wished to be the first to reveal the news to others.

That way, they could justify themselves for being the top fans!

"Yes, that was a bad prank from us." Felicia smiled awkwardly. She might be reprimanded later on, but it was still better than losing all their equipment on the spot.

The losses that Ethereal incurred today have definitely taken a dent in their overall finances and strength. Their status was in jeopardy, and she had no intention of dragging Paragon along with them.

"Is that so?" Carmen nodded and extended her hand.

"Eh?" Felicia tilted her head in confusion. What was that gesture supposed to mean?

It can’t be that... right?

Unfortunately for her, the mindset was completely spot on. Carmen rubbed her two fingers together, a well-known gesture for pay up.

"Our city isn’t quite open to the public yet. But we shall make an exception for your desperation to bypass the Twilight Glades to reach here. You can make a reservation for the price of 10 gold coins each, and when we’re fully open, you’d be the first in line." Carmen explained sweetly.

10 gold coins each...

There were hundreds of them present.

That was equivalent to thousands or even tens of thousands of gold coins, and all that for just a reservation slot.

Meanwhile, Carmen dropped to the ground and whispered, "Let’s be honest, that money isn’t for reservation slots, but for compensation. But you wouldn’t want me to say it aloud, right?"

’She got me...’ Felicia knew things wouldn’t be that simple.

But then again, 10 gold coins each was still better than losing their precious gears. Not only would they have to spend more time getting the gears again, but they would also need to spend a lot to upgrade them.

"What will it be?" Carmen mused.

"We’ll pay for the reservation slot." Felicia ignored the crowd’s disgruntlement and paid on behalf of Paragon’s portion.

"Can we use the Teleport Platform to leave?" She shamelessly asked.

To return means going back where they came from, which was the dreadful Twilight Glades.

Alas, Carmen’s generosity had long been exhausted when she found out how much Xu Feng had to deal with.

These bastards only know how to make things difficult for him, so why should she let them have an easy life either?

"Well, you can either die here immediately or have a chance to return alive through the Twilight Glades. The choices are yours to make. We don’t force people to do things they don’t want to." Carmen calmly said.
