Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1404: Sunrise Inner City Part 21

Chapter 1404: Sunrise Inner City Part 21

Sunrise Inner City Dungeon

As soon as the group of 50 entered the dungeon, they were quickly affected by the hostile environment.

The heat was on the rise, so those who wore many clothes or thick armor began to sweat like crazy.

"Take out the cold chill pill and consume it." Xu Feng reminded them. Even he had to consume one immediately when dealing with the hostile environment.

Once the bar filled up to a certain point, they would be dead from the heat.

And being dead by heat would add a status ailment upon revival from healers. This status ailment would lower their attributes by 5%.

It didn’t sound much at a glance, but 5% in the Extreme Mode was like the difference between day and night.

As everyone consumed the cold chill pill, they realized something horrifying.

[System Notification: You have consumed the cold chill pill! Resistance to heat has been increased to 40%!]

A 40% increase in resistance to heat when the usual norm was 100% immunity to the heat.

"How is this possible?"

"Is this the real hell? The previous hell mode difficulty was just an appetizer?"

"Stop whining and consume another cold chill pill!" One member hissed coldly and attempted to consume a second one.

Alas, their cleverness backfired as Xu Feng warned them. "Don’t try to consume another one. If you do, then the previous effect is nullified, and you would have a reduced resistance if you consume a third one to reactivate the effect."

Almost immediately, the clever member’s hand paused midair. The pill in their hand suddenly appeared to be a poison pill rather than a resistance pill.

Without hesitation, they hurriedly stuffed the cold chill pill back into their invention, afraid of accidental consumption.

At least the duration of the resistance lasted an hour. Otherwise, they might really be crying to death because of the harsh conditions.

"Support class, use glowing fireflies to illuminate the surroundings." Xu Feng instructed. He also activated glowing fireflies, which illuminated bits of his surroundings from being consumed in darkness.

"Summoners, summon your creatures to scout ahead and try to find torches available to light up." He continued, giving more instructions along the process.

He didn’t wish to think too far ahead because the difficulty wasn’t Hell Mode anymore.

Anything was possible in the Extreme Mode category. There was no set pattern either for memorization. It all required adaptation and fast thinking.

Shortly after they discovered a place where they could light up the torch, Xu Feng promptly reminded them.

"I won’t be able to babysit you all for everything. If you can’t even react properly in a dungeon to something, then I might really have to reconsider your ranking in the guild."

Although it was a reminder, it was more of a stern warning to them all. The Divine World was no longer new or something that had just been launched.

If these people who held such a high rank in the guild couldn’t even be independent in most of the dungeons, then they might as well forfeit their rank.

This wasn’t him being harsh or critical.

After all, he made sure to attach a strict warning that those who sign up should be adept at the dungeon and know the basics 101.

Everyone nodded their heads subconsciously.

With the warning as pretext, Xu Feng ordered the tanks to advance.

While the torches on the walls have been lit up, the overall lighting is still quite dim.

Hence, everyone was grouped up in a near circle formation, with the Summoners feeding updates on the situation ahead.

One might think having Summoners use creatures to scout ahead was broken, but the truth was far from that.

In reality, enemies with high intelligence, especially in an Extreme Mode difficulty, could easily conceal their presence and killing intent.

"Don’t rely too much on the creatures’ intel. Be prepared at all times for an ambush or fight." Xu Feng’s voice resounded.

Swoosh!

Right at that moment, a sharp arrow came rushing in their direction.

CLANKED!

"Hmph, a cold arrow?" Lightning Blade reacted the fastest as he deflected the arrow with his sword.

Then his eyes glinted as he attempted to dash toward the source of the attack.

But before he could take another step, Xu Feng promptly halted him.

"Don’t chase!" Xu Feng warned decisively and called for a Tiger Formation.

"That cold arrow was a bait." While the group was forming, he explained that the cold arrow was purposely shot to separate them.

Upon hearing the warning, Lightning Blade’s body jolted.

There was such a thing??!

Just how cunning were the enemies?

"So it wasn’t that Blade reacted amazingly, but the enemies purposely let him deflect it."

"Allow him to deflect in a way to raise his ego, to then pursue them. This kind of scheme is usually what we do to bait enemies to kill them off one by one."

"Stop talking about the obvious already."

Honestly, the group couldn’t be blamed for having such a chill when they realized the monsters hidden in the dark were treating them all like prey.

Usually, it was players doing this kind of strategy to separate and kill strong monsters individually.

Yet when the roles were reversed, it became a terrifying scene.

As for the one who nearly got caught in the trap, Lightning Blade shivered and scurried to the back.

"Weren’t you amazing earlier?" Dark Night naturally wouldn’t miss this chance to tease.

"Deflecting a cold arrow. Sheesh, why not throw your sword at them in return? That would be very cool." Blue Star chimed in and giggled sweetly.

As for VenomPulse, he simply gave him a thumbs up.

"..."

Lightning Blade was rendered speechless at their teasing. ’I’m never showing off again...’

Truth be told, the cold arrow wasn’t actually going to hit anyone. And even if it did, there was a tank available to shield the arrow.

Alas, his eagerness to move around caused him to become an embarrassment today.

"It really was a cool moment, okay." Lightning Blade pursed his lips and murmured.
