Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1370: Aetheria Empire Part 17

Chapter 1370: Aetheria Empire Part 17

A few minutes had gone by, and Xu Feng exited the military headquarters.

"You’re out that quick?" Veronica raised an eyebrow. Even she had been discussing with General Henry regarding the possible arrangement.

So how was it possible for him to come out this quickly?

"You’ve discussed most of the necessities already." Xu Feng chuckled in amusement.

Veronica’s eyelids twitched a few times. She couldn’t believe he had the nerve to say that.

’Both you and Carmen vanished for that long. Do you two really take me for a fool?’ She screamed internally. As someone who knew their true identity and current relationship status, she would be damned if she didn’t know what they were doing for the past half an hour.

"I’ll deal with you later." She hissed coldly and signaled with her eyes regarding Evelyn.

Almost everyone had left, but Evelyn remained in the area because she wished to speak with him.

"I don’t know what you’re up to, but you’d better make things clear. Too many romantic ties or love debt will cause you to be burned."

Upon hearing the warning, Xu Feng could only smile bitterly. He was innocent, alright!

Never once had he actively flirted or pursued another woman.

His mind was too focused to care about such things. Of course, that was until he realized he couldn’t stall any longer and allow Carmen to slip away.

If he really created a regret in the new timeline, then he might as well not have a new one, to begin with.

"Anyway, good luck to you." Veronica wished him well as she turned around and walked away. She was going to take this time to rest.

She deserved a long break!

A few seconds later, Veronica was completely gone. She had directly logged out and planned to sleep the whole day as a reward.

Only those who worked so hard would realize that sleep was the greatest reward you could receive.

"Guild Leader Lin Feng, thank you for rescuing my guild members." Evelyn approached him and thanked him sincerely. There was absolutely no need for Xu Feng to take such a risk to rescue them.

Yet he still did it anyway!

That action alone had given her enough proof that he was a man of integrity.

Although shameless and a ruthless scammer in multiple ways, he was still someone with a principle.

Besides the enemies or those rich players who get played by him, there were only good remarks regarding him from the poor and average players.

"You don’t need to thank me." Xu Feng calmly said.

"You rescued a critical NPC who could pivot us into the main storyline. That alone is reason enough for me to risk a few deaths to save you. I’m not a saint or a hero." He continued, emphasizing that he did it for benefits and not out of goodwill.

Not once would he ever claim or try to be a good person.

Being a good person would only cause one to be taken advantage of through moral kidnapping.

Sure enough, his brutally honest remark caused Evelyn to be speechless.

While she remained speechless, Xu Feng took the chance to slip away.

Alas, he didn’t get far when Evelyn had already taken notice of him.

"Are you going to leave now?" Evelyn caught up to him and tilted her head sideways. "I have some rare items that I was planning on handing over to you for auction. But it seems like you’re not interested."

Instantly, Xu Feng halted his steps and turned to her. "What items do you have for auction?

"Hmm, I suddenly forgot." She rubbed her chin and said.

"..."

Nodding, Xu Feng resumed his walking and waved his hand as farewell. Maybe if it were Carmen, he would entertain her. But it was Evelyn, and someone he had no interest in starting any romantic ties except for business.

Sorry, but he would never be unfaithful or disloyal to Carmen.

In the past timeline, he never found any soulmate or someone he could rely on. But in this current timeline, Carmen was someone he could rely on and relax with.

When Evelyn realized how Xu Feng wasn’t playing into her games, she quickly pursed her lips and replied.

"Class Change Quests!"

THUD!

"What did you say?" Xu Feng turned around and asked in a disbelief tone.

"Class Change quests!" Evelyn repeated and proceeded to share the relevant data with him.

Sometime later, Xu Feng’s eyes narrowed slightly when he saw what sort of class it was changing to.

Night Devourer!

A universal class that enabled players to gather Night Soul dropped by enemies or other things for power and attributes to increase.

Overall, Night Devourer was a good class change because it doesn’t undermine the player’s original class. In fact, one could say this wasn’t a class change but an additional upgraded version of their own class.

But most importantly, if this class change quest was listed in an auction, Xu Feng couldn’t imagine the money coming in.

"How much commission do you plan to take if I let you auction it?" Evelyn inquired.

Damn it!

What a sly woman!

’By asking me, aren’t you just trying to make me reveal my cards first?’ Xu Feng twitched his brows slightly at her cunning business strategy.

"How about 70-30?" He offered.

"Hmm, whose 70 and whose 30?" She asked despite the obvious answer. As the person who offered the item for auction, it was only natural that she would get the bigger shares.

"Naturally, I’m 30, and you’d be 70." Xu Feng didn’t beat around the bush and explained why their Vanguard Guild deserved 30% of the overall price.

At the current juncture, only their Vanguard Guild was capable of opening an auction, as well as guaranteeing the players could attend safely and soundly.

Based on the military attitude toward their guild, Xu Feng would be damned if Evelyn couldn’t discern that fact.

It was most definitely because she knew the Vanguard Guild was their best option at the moment that she chose to flash this class change quest to lure him in.
